Campground Reviews

Liked the concrete patios with tables and chairs and the foliage separating the sites. Nice shade trees. Clean bathrooms. Dog run was nice. Didn't feel overly crowded. Convenient to the bike trail. Only negative is no sewer hookups and odor from the bathroom/septic area. Would stay again.

Awesome location, clean facilities, and gracious hosts.

New bathhouse was great! Our tent site was okay, would have preferred a more scenic spot, despite being close to the river there was little privacy between campsites. Also bushes were tall, so it was hard to see the river. Some of the other sites looked really lovely with trees, river views, new tables and chairs, etc.

We had a beautiful, three night stay in cabin 7! It is right on the Crystal River and was very clean! The host were so nice and made us feel so welcome! We definitely recommend this KOA and will return!

Beautiful location, great dog park. Fire pit with each site and we were able to have a fire. Everything we wanted camping to be.

Loved the cabin updates looked great and very clean when we arrived. Staff was very friendly.

Our Cabin and the area was amazing! The access to the river was perfect! The large fire rings were great! My only complaint was the mice in the cabin. They kept us awake half the first night. We bought some sticky traps and took care of 3 of them. They literally got into everything. Mouse poop everywhere! Other campers may not be as understanding. Would stay again provided the mice are gone.

Rude front desk on arrival (7/9 at 8PM), cleaning bathrooms at 7AM, only 2 showers and toilets for whole campground. Sue was helpful and courteous.

Beautiful riverside setting. Private. Fire pits and picnic tables and chairs. Lovely spot.

Great place! Appreciated concrete pad with table and chairs. 50 amp hookups!

Beautiful shady location right on the river. The owners obviously have sunk a lot of capital keeping the campground in great shape. Spotless new bath house. Convenient to Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, and Aspen. Make sure to go down the road to see the Redstone Historic District and Marble. Will surely come back one day.

Unfortunately a person in our group was asked to leave. Since my family and I (which we’re from CA) rode with them we were forced to leave as well. We were not refunded our money for the last day. My kids along with the others in the group were harassed by the employees. I thought KOAs were supposed to be family friendly. The kids were just riding their bikes to and from the playground area

It’s a bit of a drive the first time down. Then you realize it’s only twenty minutes from Glenwood Springs. The campground is so beautiful and peaceful, I didn’t want to leave! Even with Covid and the pool closed, it was a spectacular place to stay. One of my favorites on this three week journey of mine!

The entire team at Crystal River KOA are the best hosts that we have encountered. They keep the encounter safe and the restrooms very clean! Great job! We will return for our fifth season next fourth of July!

I didn’t realize the the sites did not have dumps. Had to pay extra each day to have our trailer dumped

We had a family weekend with 3 children ( ages 4, 2 and 2). They had a blast playing in the river and running around the campground. The adults enjoyed fishing and the beautiful views of the Crystal River. Each night ended with campfires and s’mores. I would definitely recommend this KOA

It was the worst camping experience in all our years of camping. Super unfriendly staff that was on us about every single thing. Yelled at our kids, told us we had to “go to bed” at 9:30 because it was approaching quiet hours. I cannot believe KOA Corporate allows this completely non-family friendly site to be part of their organization.

My Husband ended up being taken to Hospital.. You all were very caring and helpful..Thank you so much, also. You have a Beautiful place...we will be back!

Everything was great (location, quality of campsite), except the bed we had was really bad (worn out and sagging badly in the middle). Spending some money on having comfortable, quality mattresses would make this place a 5 star campground for me. Also, being informed beforehand that the pool was currently not open would have been appreciated as that was one of the reasons we picked this place.

Great place. Nice quiet and peaceful. We were backed in right along the river. Our host were very friendly and helpful. We plan on staying again in the future.

If I'm going to pay $50 I don't want to have to use a dump station. Dump station on site is not ADA friendly. Dangerous for an old man that can't walk very well. And the parking pad needs to be tilted slightly toward the drain.

Owners are pretty scattered brained on how the business is ran. Was a pretty heavy S-show since our large party showed up. From harassing the wrong camp sights on noise, to handling issues with annoying neighbors. Biggest problem was mice in our cabin that came kept us up two nights. $110 a night for mice infested quarters. The owner said there was nothing they do as we told them at check out. Sad

This is a very nice KOA located off of Hwy 133 at the base of Mt. Sopris giving spectacular views of the mountain here in Carbondale, Colorado. The colors of fall adds to beauty of Carbondale and the cool temperatures prepares you for winter. This campground provides you necessities for RV living, though it it not a complete hookup with no dumping for your RV. You will have to dump at the dump site when you are full or before you leave. Other then that, great place, great location, and great customer service.
