Would not recommend this place Unless you absolutely can not find anything else. Empty sites had trash still in fire pits, which was disrespectful from guest. Tall grassy areas, flooded sites, old beat up truck with a flat tire parked at an unused site. Trailer park shares same entrance with KOA, no gate, anyone can come and go as they want. Tall weeds and shrubs needed to be taken out. TLC NEEDED

This is a very clean campground. We have stayed there before, and plan to stay there again. It was going to be very heavy thunderstorms while we were there one day, and the campground sent around flyers to let all the campers know about the sever weather. I thought this was a very thoughtful thing for them to do.

The campground was quiet, but could have really used some better care. Lawns weren’t mowed, sites weren’t level, just not what I would call a Holiday, should probably be listed as a journey.

Lost power the first night and had to move to another site with power, but overall nice and quiet, pool clean, restroom not centrally located.

The pool looks nice but the grounds just need to be mowed and cleaned up. There are only a few things that need to be done to make this a 4 or 5 star campground. The staff is nice and the location is amazing for our needs. Close to CSU.

The people were very friendly and the restrooms were clean. The pools was very nice. The city has grown up around the campground, so it was very noisy, lots of traffic and sirens. The stores on other side of fence had lights on all night and our pad was all sand, which meant a ton of ants. We were not there much but to sleep. Overall, not a bad place to stay.

When we arrived, the spot they had us in was completely flooded. They were willing to relocate us, which I am thankful for but the spots are very tight and the place looks like it hasn't had any updates/renovations since it was opened 50 years ago. There was no place to put chairs out and sit outside because the spots are too close together.

Overall, okay, but space 4 (and 3 for that matter) were low, and when it rained we both had 4” of water outside the door. You really need to improve drainage around those sites.

Everything was great except the grass had not been cut for weeks. Kinda hard tracking back and forth to your vehicle.

Driveway into trailer house park not inviting. Grass growing in all the gravel areas. Not landscaped. Pitbull dogs allowed in park - very unappealing. Definitely not a KOA style park. Staff nice or I would have given it 1 star.

Everything was safe and well maintained. Older park so roads are tight for 40 plus foot RV’s but not upset about it.

Not big rig friendly. Landscaping ard site maintenance are poor. Broken sewer connections; electrical boxes in need of repair; trash laying on the ground next to dog waste stations for over a day; Dog park is minimalistic at best. Friendly staff. Location is convenient, but safety is definitely a concern. Definitely not worth the cost. Has potential, but needs security and maintenance.

we have been staying at KOAs for 20+ years and this location has to be the lowest of the low the maint. is horrible from the moment you turn in off the street and the island is noting but weeds, the welcome to KOA sign is hidden by 6 foot tall weeds the area along the pool by the road is nothing but weeds, its very clear that the lawns have not been mowed in many weeks in areas as the grass tall

We were very disappointed in our stay here. The site was considered a premium site but grass wasn't cut for sometime & firepit overgrown. Grille was disgusting, Patio cracked. The campground was not very clean and there was no security to come into the campground. People parked all over the place especially during the weekend. Staff wasn't very friendly either. I've seen worse but not many.

The proximity to Charleston and the staff were the only great things about this particular KOA. Staff were friendly and pool area appeared to be in good shape although we did not use it. Maintenance and general upkeep were lacking and need to be improved. The access point which goes through the neighboring trailer park is a future deterrent.

The campground itself was not bad, however, the surrounding area was really run down. The adjoining trailer park had old trashy units. There was also what looked like an old gas station with couches and trash left outside and spray paint all around the outside. I understand that this is not in the park's control, but still a dealbreaker. Park staff and facilities were great. Terrible location.

We enjoyed staying here! The staff was friendly, our spot was spacious, the kids loved the pool and it was a short drive to the beach! We will come again.

The location not big enough for our 35' rv and truck. Park not very well kept up looks like several RVS were longer term and grass growing up all around. Showers very small very tight if you weigh over 200 pounds. We will not be staying here again.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They have a serious issue with standing water if it rains alot. The sites could use more gravel or some kind of cover. To sit outside after a rain is sitting in mud!! Over all, we had a good experience. What grass there was, needed cutting.

I am a VIP KOA member. That means I have stayed at MANY KOA’s around the country. I/we were very disappointed in the Charleston “Holiday” KOA. The Good: It’s location and pool. The Bad: The sad condition of the whole park, broken power poles, mud holes everywhere with very little gravel, poor lawn maintenance, low hanging limbs and very tight spaces between sites. Read the many horror reviews prior to our visit to Charleston KOA. But its 2021 and its hard to please people these days. Our visit to the KOA was enjoyable, no issues, its a small clean park, not many amenities, no morning pancakes, or Gaga ball or Karaoke, no worm train or ice cream social. It just a no frills park, just 20 minutes from downtown Charleston.

Grass was not cut any where on the campground other than the pool . I had to call an ask them to cut it at the site we stayed . It was up to my shins Also it’s right beside a run down trailer park that shares the same entrance . So anyone can just come in the campground.

The front desk personnel were extremely nice and welcoming. But the campground itself is not nice! Several dilapidated live-in trailers, with trash, junk around them. Foul septic smell in area. Rec room and play area very dirty and rundown. Pool chairs were sticky and dirty, when we tried to move one rust water poured out staining clothes. This KOA needs, repairs, updates & get rid of residents.

This KOA is very old and not what I've grown accustomed to. It needs upgrades to the property, and better amenities. I did not like the fact that it was right next to a trailer park, and an abandoned building with graffiti all over it. When I pulled up, I thought I was at the wrong address. Two police cars showed up one night and arrested some people. Needless to say, I did not feel safe.

Our campsite, as well as others, flooded significantly. Local police were in the campground on more than 1 night, making several arrests with no KOA staff present to remove rest of camper in party. Overall, seemed very shady place to stay. Most campsites need extensive work for drainage and leveling. Would not stay again or recommend staying here!

Bathrooms were clean, good water pressure. The people who checked us in were friendly. The campground itself was pretty neglected, nothing a little bit of attention could take care of. Needed to be mowed/weed eated all over the campground. Broken down vehicle parked in a tent site. Lots of noise from the main road.(sirens, loud vehicles.) The only camp personnel we saw was at check in.

Not a bad place, a bit crowded with not a lot of room between camp sites. People were friendly and helpful. Playground needs some work, as I didn't see any operable swings. We were in town for a surprise engagement party for my son, this KOA was much closer to his & her house than James Island County Park, where we usually stay when in the Charleston area. We would stay again.

The pricing was ok. Permanent residents collect junk around their sites. Several permanent trailers were bad enough to be towed to junk yard and probably unsafe. Dump station had an oil slick around drain like changing oil and should be reported to State inspectors. Restrooms were to nasty for use. I felt bad for the woman trying to clean them. Its the residents they rent to. No respect.

Entrance is shared with shady trailer park. Grounds were unkept. Stray cats running around. Sites had very little gravel which made our site a mini swamp. Lots of what appeared to be long term residents. Hope this KOA is not a sign of decreasing standards for KOA parks. Do not recommend staying here.

We enjoyed our stay. Close to many things we needed. Very clean. Office staff extremely helpful, professional and frirndly. Would return.
