Nice place close to Charleston, how ever the front entrance is not very welcoming, the area is overgrown.kind of looks like the old trailer park that is next to it. looks a little dated

I am a VIP KOA member. That means I have stayed at MANY KOA’s around the country. I/we were very disappointed in the Charleston “Holiday” KOA. The Good: It’s location and pool. Read the many horror reviews prior to our visit to Charleston KOA. But its 2021 and its hard to please people these days. Our visit to the KOA was enjoyable, no issues, its a small clean park, not many amenities, no morning pancakes, or Gaga ball or Karaoke, no worm train or ice cream social. It just a no frills park, just 20 minutes from downtown Charleston.

Grass was not cut any where on the campground other than the pool . I had to call an ask them to cut it at the site we stayed . It was up to my shins Also it’s right beside a run down trailer park that shares the same entrance . So anyone can just come in the campground.

The front desk personnel were extremely nice and welcoming. But the campground itself is not nice! Several dilapidated live-in trailers, with trash, junk around them. Foul septic smell in area. Rec room and play area very dirty and rundown. Pool chairs were sticky and dirty, when we tried to move one rust water poured out staining clothes. This KOA needs, repairs, updates & get rid of residents.

This KOA is very old and not what I've grown accustomed to. It needs upgrades to the property, and better amenities. I did not like the fact that it was right next to a trailer park, and an abandoned building with graffiti all over it. When I pulled up, I thought I was at the wrong address. Two police cars showed up one night and arrested some people. Needless to say, I did not feel safe.

Our campsite, as well as others, flooded significantly. Local police were in the campground on more than 1 night, making several arrests with no KOA staff present to remove rest of camper in party. Overall, seemed very shady place to stay. Most campsites need extensive work for drainage and leveling. Would not stay again or recommend staying here!

Bathrooms were clean, good water pressure. The people who checked us in were friendly. The campground itself was pretty neglected, nothing a little bit of attention could take care of. Needed to be mowed/weed eated all over the campground. Broken down vehicle parked in a tent site. Lots of noise from the main road.(sirens, loud vehicles.) The only camp personnel we saw was at check in.

Not a bad place, a bit crowded with not a lot of room between camp sites. People were friendly and helpful. Playground needs some work, as I didn't see any operable swings. We were in town for a surprise engagement party for my son, this KOA was much closer to his & her house than James Island County Park, where we usually stay when in the Charleston area. We would stay again.

The pricing was ok. Permanent residents collect junk around their sites. Several permanent trailers were bad enough to be towed to junk yard and probably unsafe. Dump station had an oil slick around drain like changing oil and should be reported to State inspectors. Restrooms were to nasty for use. I felt bad for the woman trying to clean them. Its the residents they rent to. No respect.

Entrance is shared with shady trailer park. Grounds were unkept. Stray cats running around. Sites had very little gravel which made our site a mini swamp. Lots of what appeared to be long term residents. Hope this KOA is not a sign of decreasing standards for KOA parks. Do not recommend staying here.

It had been two years since we stayed at the Charleston KOA . The last stay was miserable but this one was really great. I do not know if they have new ownership but the name of the hosts are different then they used to be. We rode around the park and it appears that there have been several improvements to the park. This location is good for us to visit family so I was glad it was a good park.

We enjoyed our time at KOA. Staff was very helpful, people friendly and extremely clean. Everyone there were very good with their dogs.

This KOA needs a lot of general maintenance and clean up. My 30 amp outlet was bad and burnt the prong on my plug. They did relocate me to another site and that 30 amp outlet was also bad, but I was able to use the 50 amp outlet with a conversion plug in. WIFI was pretty good.

It looks like the grass has not been mowed this year. We we lucky we had a deluxe site. Looks like lots of full time people staying there , lots of junk settings on camp sites it’s way over priced for what you get need to spend some of the money and do some landscaping. It was very disappointing.

Amazing! Gorgeous and cozy. We had two kitties that live there visit our RV daily and it was the best part. Kids swam at the pool with other campers. Everything was perfect!

Was told at 10 til 8 the store was closed and my site information was posted on the door. Another worker was nice enough to at least show me where my site was on a map. Pull through site in section E was barely large enough for our camper, only a couple feet away from the neighboring camper. Pool is alright, but wouldn’t recommend for anyone staying more than a night or two.

Park was acceptable, not great. All lots were over grown with grass and entrance looked terrible. Not what you expect from such a large company. Pool area grass was high. Pool was clean and enjoyable though. The staff was friendly and accommodating with my requests for a lot. Not what I expected for the money. But convenient for our needs. Police were there 24/7 which I appreciated.

We had a site next to the dump station that smelled lovely at times. Also there were a lot of weeds in our site and the one next to us. We are supposed to leave trash out to be picked up but it didn’t get picked up on weekends, really? If you want help with management please stay at the Travelers Rest KOA. They are on top of customer service. We did love your pool though�.

Your site and your staff is awesome! Site is very clean, provided enough room and privacy, the bathroom and showers are well lit and always maintained. Understand that the water leak/fix is not your fault.

Not up to the normal KOA quality of most other facilities. Pool, store and laundry close early, and it appears that laundry, story, and propane sales are available to the general public (next door is a trailer park). Staff was indifferent and not polite, and laundry area/bathrooms were dirty.

We always love visiting the Charleston area and this trip was no exception. Our first visit to this KOA, but it did not disappoint. Our site was perfect and the amenities were excellent.

There is an abandoned building at the entrance covered in graffiti. I saw a homeless man walking thru the KOA. I saw a middle aged man riding his bike down the street in front of the KOA carrying a machete. It is not in a safe part of town. It is the most poorly maintained KOA I’ve ever stayed at.

Expect above average for KOA prices, but back in sites have no concrete pads or gravel. Ours (A32) had large tree roots from a removed tree (stump grinder anyone?). There was broken glass by our camper door area and weeds were a foot tall. Quiet time doesn’t start till 11, and the dogs seem unaware. Other than these issues the park and location were good.

Nice place to stay if you don't want to be in Charleston. Charleston is about a half hour away. They have a fenced dog park but, it could be a little larger for the big dogs to run in.

I booked a site for an overnight stay, once I got there and got to my assigned site it was very wet, muddy with pools of water, which created an issue with my 5th wheel getting leveled out. Long story short when I told this to the front desk all I got was an "ok how will you like to pay your balance for this stay". My rating is based on the attention I got poor customer service.

KOA GHETTO Terrible terrible! Bathrooms are disgusting! There is no way this is a “holiday”. Connected to a trailer park and pretty sketchy. Young kids running it and not caring condition of anything. What a waste of money! It should be bulldozed and turned into a landfill.

Nice pool, store, and bath house. Hosts were friendly. We stayed in a pull through spot, E1, which had plenty of room for our rig (37’ dp). After we arrived we walked around and noticed that some of the other pull through sites were very close to each other. This KOA is directly adjacent to a mobile home park, shares the same main entrance/ exit, but our stay was nice and quiet.

We enjoyed our stay. Close to many things we needed. Very clean. Office staff extremely helpful, professional and frirndly. Would return.
