A jail until it closed in 1973; the museum was opened in 1975 and is operated by the Montgomery County Cultural Foundation. The Sugar Creek Trail is a 4.5 mile trail located in Crawfordsville's scenic west-side. The trail makes use of the historic Big-Four rail corridor, with the western destination being Sugar Creek. This is a great place for walking, jogging, bicycling, roller-blades, cross country skiing, and enjoying nature.
