Wonderful!

Too many people - campground was completely full. No horseshoes available. Can’t see the KOA sign at night when coming from the south. Dog crap at our site that was not from our dogs

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We do our best to make our sites spotless, but unfortunately we sometime miss something (or irresponsible pet owners don't clean up after their pup). Apologies for that. Happy to clean up any mess you didn't cause but do need to know about it to do so. Just saw the horseshoes, so not sure why they "weren't available". Camping's kind of popular in Colorado, so can't apologize for being busy.

We were very impressed with the Cripple Creek KOA. They had the cleanest bathrooms of any campground that we have stayed. Great views and playground for the kids to play. We will definitely stay here again.

A quick getaway with my partner and my dog. I had never been camping before but it was Ana amazing first experience at cripple creek KOA

The folks running the camp were great! Our site was on top with beautiful views and a deck. Overall it was a great 3 day stay!

Great campground, store could use more supplies, breakfast could be a little earlier, overall a great place to stay.

Delightfully remote, well-kept, clean. In short, wonderful.

Crowded. My "yard" was right up against the neighbors sewer and water connections. They had horseshoe pits but couldn't find the horseshoes. No signage at all coming from Victor.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. Camping's kind of popular in Colorado, so can't really apologize for being busy. Just saw the horseshoes so not sure what the issue was with that.

Camp sites were clean and beautiful, however they were quite close to other sites. The tent pads were too small and we were rolling down the hill throughout the night. If they were just a few square feet larger it would be much more comfortable. Just too small for even an average size tent. Clubhouse was clean and easily accessible.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry your stay wasn't fabulous. Our primitive tent sites have varying sized tent pads and unfortunately T2 where you stayed has a smaller 8x8 pad. Working toward enlarging all our tent pads if possible so hope to address that. Please call to confirm pad size next time.

This campground is just wonderful. Very clean and quiet. The staff is very friendly. The views are unbelievable. Beautiful. Close enough to go into the nearby towns, yet secluded enough to feel like you are far away. We loved it. We will be back!!!!

No trees, female staff not very friendly. We had family visit and we got the 3rd degree. Just 3 members, fire was to regulation we were told to keep it down for night 2200. We were not loud, just enjoying fire. From entrance looks like cheap mobile home sight, dog area is all dirt. On a steep incline we had to use 4 wheel drive to move on gravel .. it's all gravel. 1.25 hrs from ROYAL G. : (

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Fire's always a problem when the county's under a burn restriction. Visitors must check in at the office. Dog park is all grass. RV pads are level. Perhaps female staff was intimidated by your threatening email and vm when you couldn't plug in your trailer (which I was able to do with no issue). Location is exactly where we say it is... 1.25 hrs from Royal Gorge.

great secluded location. The amenities were perfect, very friendly staff too.

Really beautiful location.. No cable TV and wasn’t able to pick up any tv channels.

First time visiting. Very nice campground, friendly staff and amazing views from the mountain side. We definitely plan on returning to the highest elevation KOA.

Wonderful 2-night stay in the more secluded, non-luxury tent area. Site was well prepared with a level gravel area for pitching the tent. Other tent camping neighbors were far enough away as to be out of site and quiet most of the time. Propane fire stoves worked well in lieu of the non-allowed campfires. Convenient access to Cripple Creek and several local hiking trails.

Very quiet. Sometimes very windy. Witnessed 2 tents dismantled by the wind on separate occasions. Nice facilities.

Beautiful place, very clean...but couldn't have fires even tho teller county is stage 1 fire ban

Excellent we will stay again !! Very clean , friendly staff !

Nice place, great people and great location. The only slight negative is the place could use additional bathrooms

We loved the location, great views, and we will certainly be back. It is clean and well maintained. I even got good advice from them on side trips to take to explore the area. I would have given them 5 stars except for the laundry facilities. They required quarters, but then had no quarters to sell us. We ended up driving quite a way to find another laundry mat.

We stayed there this past weekend in one of the camping cabins. The cabin was super clean and the campground was great. Everything was clean and sanitized and I felt very safe. Everyone was so friendly and you definitely can’t beat the sunset each night. Such a relaxing getaway, we will definitely be back!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

So happy you felt safe! We're working hard to keep this COVID thing away, so appreciate the acknowledgement.

What a beautiful place to stay, temperature is fantastic and the staff is the best. I would highly recommend this KOA and like I said the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay the best ever.

I called ahead so I knew where to pick up out reservation papers, we were set to arrive after the offices had closed for the day. The woman on the phone was very helpful. Once we arrived finding our tent site in the dark as a little difficult but we found it. The site was quiet and secluded very nice! Only suggestions put a little light by tent site sign & having more bathrooms would be nice.

We had camper next to us, who stated he worked for the campground, that came to our campsite and yelled at us because our puppy got out of his harness and ran over to his site. We were watching the dogs and immediately saw it and were trying to get the dog. He was completely unprofessional and actually scared my kids to where one was crying. Poor representation of campground.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Your wife called to apologize for the misunderstanding, saying that you were cooking so couldn't hear our worker, so he yelled. Sounds like perhaps you don't agree. I would apologize, but I understand this was the THIRD time he asked you to keep your puppy away from his husky, who was tied up on his site. Your neighbors also complained about about your pup. Poor representation of RV campers.

Sites are very well kept. Crew is always working on the grounds. Always cleaning the site after campers leave so you know your touch points are sanitized. Great playgrounds and dog park. We will return.

We loved staying in the Couples Cabin. The bed too was cozier than usual camping beds. The facility was also very clean. Also loved the views and sunsets.

We stayed at one of the new patio sites and it was very nice. We have been to this KOA a couple of times now and have always had a great stay. Will continue to come as long as it is here.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you like the new patio sites! Hope to build some more this winter for next season. See you next time!

We enjoyed our stay. The KOA is easily accessible and sits on the western side of a hill, so you get some great sunsets. Curbside check in was easy and we were escorted to our site quickly. There are a couple of small play sets for kids, which was a positive for us. The weekend pancake breakfast was nice. Cell service is limited, so be aware, but the KOA's WiFi on site worked fine the whole time.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Huzzah, our wifi works well! :) Invested in some upgrades recently, so happy to hear it helped. Thanks for staying with us, and for the kind words!

Awesome place. We stayed in a cabin for 2 nights it was clean and perfect for camping. The park grounds are open and not much to see but the background is gorgeous and there is a trail leading up the mountain on the trail we found fresh bear marks witch was awesome to see and makes perfect sense why they warn you not to leave out food.

Always a fan of KOA, but this one was especially impressive to us. It is family owned and operated, and it is evident in the upkeep that the family is proud of their business. The cabin we stayed in was immaculate, they were even installing a screen door on it when we checked in, perfect for cool mountain breezes! The campground also has a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen which was a fun experience in itself. I think our kids' favorite however were the pedal carts available for rent. Lastly, keep an eye out on the way up! There are wildlife in the surrounding woods, we saw half a dozen mountain sheep on the way in! 100% intend to return!
