Nice place. Spots are a little tight but workable. The staff are really nice. Enjoyed our stay!

Great view, baby camp so need more trees. Otherwise was a nice place to stay. Store nice, staff nice. Did not use facilities so can't rate them. May or may not stay there again.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you liked the view, although if there were more trees, you wouldn't have been able to enjoy it. Glad you generally enjoyed your stay!

We have stayed at the Cripple Creek KOA twice in the last 4 years. We went back the second time because it was so nice and clean the first time. Everything was just as clean this time. This is a wonderful place to stay. We did have one couple that thought everyone wanted to hear their music playing outside until after 10pm. Not the campgrounds fault but not cool.

We stayed 4 nights and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful with suggestions for us to take the grandkids for fun. Our cabin was exceptionally clean. The camp grounds are well kept. The showers were very clean.

Clean, beautiful views

Loved it. Definitely exceeded expectations. Staff super friendly and helpful. Amenities were above and beyond what we expected (really good showers, clean restrooms, sinks for campers to clean cookware). Beautiful scenery and great location. Thanks for having us.

Had an awesome time. Terry is super accommodating when I messed up our plans and showed up a day early! The sites were clean. Unfortunately there were no activities and the game room was closed which made it hard on the kids

We were told not to park on the grass- makes sense... however the trucks towing their quads parked all over the lawn and tore up the grass. Did not appear to have the same rules for all campers.

We stayed for 3 days and felt protected from COVID 19 by the staff and other campers. Beautiful views (when not blocked by big rigs (we were in a Casita)! Nice trail up the mountain behind the park.

Check in was smooth. Friendly and informative staff. Very clean buildings and grounds. Perfect for myself and family.

We enjoyed the KOA. The employees were friendly and helpful. The facilities were great.

Love this campground and the area. Had some logistical problems because our basement bins are part of our large slide. Not KOA's problem, but I'll be sure to mention our slide issue with built up landscaping in the future. Thank you Cripple Creek KOA for being a clean well managed campground.

We stayed two nights and had a great stay. Very clean, great amenities, wonderful location!

Peggy was very helpful on Saturday attempting to help my granddaughters set up our tent before it started raining. I then went to the office to see if a cabin was available for the night due to the rain. A gentleman was in the office bleeding from a head wound due to a canopy hitting him in the head. I was able to provide first aid to the wound since I am a nurse. I received the cabin for free.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for the first aid help! Giving you a warm dry place to camp for the night was the least we could do. Peggy's pretty awesome, isn't she?

Great time, very clean, courteous staff. Would like to see drones banned, that was very loud and annoying.

It was a wonderful stay! This was our second stay at this KOA, and it was just as wonderful as the first time! Highly, highly recommended!

Beautiful location, friendly and knowledgable staff

I enjoyed my tent site. I appreciate how clean the restrooms and shower were. I also appreciate the precautions the store staff took on keeping things safe and clean.

We camped in the "Meadows" in tents. (Don't expect it to be perfectly level, you are on the side of a mountain.) The view is beautiful. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The pancake breakfeast was good and saved us some time preparing food and cleaning up. We didn't use it, but the camp kitchen looked like it would be very useful especially for tent campers. Thanks for the experience!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you, so glad you enjoyed your stay! I will be putting 16x16 tent pads on the meadow sites soon, so hopefully you won't have to sleep on the slope next time.

Everything was great except it states there is a Off leash dog run that is no longer there. Might want to update your maps and website.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Dogs are welcome to run free in our large dog park. Our map doesn't state there is a leash-free dog park on the North side, but there is a graphic of a cartoon dog running free in that area.

The majestic views, cool weather and afternoon rain meant for a nap - this place could not be more perfect. The owners Derrick and Terrie (kids & Astro the puppy) were a delight. It was like staying with family. EVERYTHING was wiped down, cleaned, and masks were worn everywhere. I was dizzy watching them work sun up to sun down. I felt safe, comfortable and relaxed. I will be back, LOVED IT!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

So glad your extended stay was special! Enjoyed having you, and Astro LOVES the gift. We strive to treat our campers as guests in our home and it is GREAT to hear when we hit the mark. Thank you, and see you next year!

Our "premium site" had a view of other campers. It stated full hookups on the reservation website but the confirmation said something different. The gentleman who owned the campground was very nice and acknowledged how misleading the information had been. He refunded a few dollars but we really would not have chosen a campsite without sewer. We had been on the road for a week needed hookups.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

As we discussed, your site was water/electric because that is what you booked, which is why your confirmation stated so. Insisting you booked FHU does not make it so. I appreciate the feedback regarding our preferred sites (which cost $3 more). We will be doing away with that designation next year. I did, however, refund you triple the price difference from our standard sites.

We booked out of the convenience and availability, but this campground was lackluster in delivery. There is a fire ban in Teller County and MULTIPLE campsites still had wood fires. We notified the staff and the next night the same campsites continued to host wood campfires. Our campsite was extremely angled and challenging to tent on. A nice campground with a gorgeous view besides that.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

MULTIPLE campsites had a PROPANE fire, which is legal under current burn restriction. I checked personally when I heard you reported your neighbors (THANK YOU for doing that!) and there had not been wood in that fire pit for some time. They did have a large propane burner, so you likely saw flames from that.

Good stay, have always liked this koa, Can get a might crowded at times but the location makes up for that. Great staff
Aug 02, 2020
The camp hosts are great. Very friendly and helpful.
Aug 02, 2020
It was wonderful, the staff are excellent and even helped when we had an emergency.

Campsites were clean. There aren’t enough bathrooms or showers and one or another was always out of order. Toilet paper needed to be stocked more often. Bathrooms and showers were closed for a long time for cleaning given that there weren’t enough in the first place. The women staff working the store were grumpy and not very friendly. The men staff were accommodating and friendly.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Stuff breaks, I fix it, sometimes it takes more than a day. Bathrooms are never closed for cleaning as long as the posted cleaning window. We did have a vandal empty out TP in men's bathroom; we stock it at 7pm, 8am and all day long. My apologies if you feel you were mistreated; we do our best to treat everyone warmly and welcoming.
Aug 01, 2020
Loved our site and this campground but the sites are way to small for a big rig Views were awesome
Aug 01, 2020
Staff was courteous. The bathrooms were the best in that there was a separate bathroom for men and for women.

Stayed in a little lodge cabin. Very nice. Really need a new mattress. Fine for 1 person but 2 people and it becomes a deflated air mattress. My husband took the bed and I took one of the twin bunks. Owners were very nice and accommodating. Very good hosts. One of our favorite places to come and stay. Top notch in my book.

Campsites close together, workers weed eating threw rocks on us and our vehicles. When we asked him to stop, he approached us to see what the problem was. He stood within a few feet without a mask. We asked him to stand 6 feet and he said he wasn’t at least 9 feet’ in a very condescending way. He was rude and disrespectful.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

No idea I was throwing gravel from 60 ft away. Understand it would be frustrating since I had earplugs in so couldn't hear you yelling. Came to apologize and YOU were condescending to "the help". Outdoors in the sun and wind, masks don't help. I did not get close to your party. I apologized profusely for UNKOWNINGLY spraying you with gravel; it was a mistake. You chose not to accept and post this.

Friendly staff, very clean grounds restrooms and shower plus spectacular views
Jul 31, 2020
Sites way to close and level, had full hookup but the sewer hookup ran uphill. Had plenty of rain but could not have a campfire won’t be back again

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you won't be returning since: 1. Fire restrictions are set by the county, as you may have noticed by the 10 FOOT FLASHING SIGNS ALL THE WAY UP THE MOUNTAIN! We enforce because we care about our pristine natural setting. 2. Sewer hookup is on grade on site 162, as with all our sites. I am happy to have feedback, particularly critical feedback I can address, but you are just fabricating issues.

No coffee...and no to in women's bathroom at 7 am in morning..in 3 stalls..other than that it's a beautiful place

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Bathrooms are stocked at 7pm and 8am. We did have some vandals messing with the paper recently, so that may have been the problem. Sorry for that.

Awesome place. We stayed in a cabin for 2 nights it was clean and perfect for camping. The park grounds are open and not much to see but the background is gorgeous and there is a trail leading up the mountain on the trail we found fresh bear marks witch was awesome to see and makes perfect sense why they warn you not to leave out food.

Always a fan of KOA, but this one was especially impressive to us. It is family owned and operated, and it is evident in the upkeep that the family is proud of their business. The cabin we stayed in was immaculate, they were even installing a screen door on it when we checked in, perfect for cool mountain breezes! The campground also has a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen which was a fun experience in itself. I think our kids' favorite however were the pedal carts available for rent. Lastly, keep an eye out on the way up! There are wildlife in the surrounding woods, we saw half a dozen mountain sheep on the way in! 100% intend to return!
