The location is beautiful but very busy. Terri has worked hard to find us slots without a reservation. It’s very well managed. All the staff work hard to clean and maintain everything.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks! Glad we were able to find space so you could extend your stay.

It is a lovely setting. Due to Covid, we didn't have much contact with the owner/manager... but she was very friendly, efficient and prompt in getting us situated. t Unfortunately, after paying for a "premium view," we had a spot that looked out onto the back of the camper in front of us. It's better to underpromise than overpromise as it set us up to be disappointed. But it is beautiful & clean!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for the compliments and glad you enjoyed it in spite of your view. Considering ways to remedy that as we certainly don't want our guests to be disappointed.

We had a tent site for our stay at Cripple Creek. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The site was very clean and the views were incredible. Will definitely be back soon!

It's always a great time at the Cripple Cteek KOA..the views are spectacular there. The people are always friendly. We always stay there when we camp in Cripple Creek.

Best KOA we have stayed at. This was the third time this year we stayed at the Cripple Creek KOA. Beautiful area and a great location to stay if you are visiting the Teller County area. Just be prepared for quick changes in the weather even in the summer!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Bring a jacket, even in the summer. See you again soon!

The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The site did run out of water for a few hours but the corrected it as soon as they could. Our site was very uneven but nice view

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Apologies for the water outage and thank you for your understanding. Glad you enjoyed the view, and your stay!

Beautiful campground! Meticulously maintained and the staff is awesome. We stopped for a night and stayed a month. The wifi doesn’t work very well even with a booster but we had many more fun things to do!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for staying and glad you appreciated our beautiful mountain getaway!

Staff was helpful and courteous. The cabins were amazing, looked brand new. Bathrooms were always clean. The only issue was the down time on the bathroom cleaning.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for the review, and glad you had a pleasant stay! We take great pride in the cleanliness of our facilities. Since we only have one set of bathrooms, that unfortunately means we have to close them for a short time for cleaning (although we do leave them open during the extra COVID-fighting sanitizing procedures several times a day).

We went in Friday for the Fourth of July weekend and loved the cabins, staff was friendly and when we arrived a bit early they helped us get situated.

Loved it. So Beautiful up there and everybody was nice!

We’ve been visiting KOAs for about 20 years. Our favorite Colorado locations are Cripple Creek, Buena Vista and Cotopaxi. In particular the CC KOA is well run and the hosts are friendly and professional. We love the Kabins, the clean conveniences (restrooms, showers and laundry) and of course beautiful location itself.

Been to this KOA several times, it's one of our favorites. We booked this trip in January, with 2 parties and were told we had 2 spots co-located at the top of the hill. Upon arrival we're in the middle of the hill, located across the drive at an angle from each other. The smaller camper was put in the 50 amp site with the larger in a 30 amp site which was backwards, luckily we had an adapter.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry to see you weren't completely satisfied this trip. We had several email and phone chats in Jan and Apr and seemed you understood what sites you had booked. You reserved two different site types and std sites are not at the top of the hill. I got you as close as possible given the constraints of your reservations. Both were in your name so wld be up to you to pick the right site for ea camper

2 stars because we left a night sooner because the restrooms were unavailable and they did not know when the issues would be resolved. This was not something we could deal with as we were on a tent site and had no other options for restrooms.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. We had an issue with our water system that lasted several hours, however the bathrooms were not closed (except for cleaning). Operations were restored to normal that afternoon so I think your decision to depart was premature. Most folks did some touring that afternoon and had regular service when they returned.

Character limit prevents proper explanation of likes/dislikes. Here is our summary: Site not long enough for our rig. (Actual length given, assigned site only fit truck after moving table. Table/yard unusable.) WiFi terrible... readily acknowledged by staff. Great cell signal (Ver). Very clean campground. Beautiful scenery. Pleasant staff. THANK YOU for refund after illness cut stay short.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank YOU for the balanced review! Working on resolving some of the issues you called out and appreciate the feedback. Regarding site length, there is a note when you book that you will have to unhook to fit. Given our early 90's big-rig sized sites, it happens very frequently. Unfortunately you were in one of our narrower sites, but I have to disagree that it is "unusable".

Had a great time. The campground was clean and very nice bathroom facilities. It was cold at night and lived hearing the coyotes

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Some folks don't realize how remote our location is. No city around, but plenty of wildlife!

We enjoyed 3 nights. Just left July 2,2020. Clean and beautiful. Friendly staff. Great dog play area, great kid areas.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks! Save travels back to Tennessee.

The campground was clean but there were numerous sites open and when we called to reserve a site, we told them we have a Jeep with a tent on top (to consider us like a truck with a camper). They booked us at a tent only site which was absolutely unlevel for the Jeep, which meant the tent was not level. We showed up after office hours, which they knew we’d be late, so no way to change. Disappoint

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I'm sorry you weren't happy, however you called and discussed site types with Terri before booking and YOU selected a deluxe tent site over an RV site. Our after-hours number is posted and we would have been happy to move you to any available site, had you just called it. I'm disappointed you choose to blame your decisions on us.

We love the dog park. Everything was very clean and the employees worked hard to clean everything
Jul 01, 2020
The Site was immaculate, the facilities were immaculate including the showers and bathrooms. Great Place to RV with kids and easy access to a multitude of things to do & see in Teller County. The Host's Derrick and Terry were most gracious and very helpful with our every need. As this is only 2.5 hours from home we will be back to escape the Metro area many times to come.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

See you soon!

Very nice stay. WiFi could be better.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks... WiFi infrastructure improvements have been contracted, so should be improved inside the campground within a month! :)

The cabin was clean and comfy! Everything exceeded our expectations. We had a great time. The only thing we needed was a can opener!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thought we had can openers in the Deluxe Cabins, but maybe one went for a hike up Trachyte Knob. Added it to the shopping list, Thanks!

Good people, friendly staff and a good location. Sites are a little tight and no trees but overall a good KOA.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

No trees = AWESOME view of the sunset across the valley! :) Our primitive tent sites are mostly in the trees at the top of the hill. Thanks!

We had a great stay, this was my second time staying here, I love this campground, people are so nice and its so clean. I like the site setups.

This campsite was beautiful!! Everything was clean and kept up. The owner went above and beyond helping us with our trailer issues. All of the staff was great except for one blonde lady who was rude and seemed annoyed at anything I asked. Only downside to the campsite was the road was gravel and slippery, so riding bikes was not safe for my kiddos :(

The campground was located in an really beautiful location. There were also pretty of great hiking trails near by and several kid activities nearby. The staff were really helpful and friendly

Awesome place. We stayed in a cabin for 2 nights it was clean and perfect for camping. The park grounds are open and not much to see but the background is gorgeous and there is a trail leading up the mountain on the trail we found fresh bear marks witch was awesome to see and makes perfect sense why they warn you not to leave out food.

Always a fan of KOA, but this one was especially impressive to us. It is family owned and operated, and it is evident in the upkeep that the family is proud of their business. The cabin we stayed in was immaculate, they were even installing a screen door on it when we checked in, perfect for cool mountain breezes! The campground also has a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen which was a fun experience in itself. I think our kids' favorite however were the pedal carts available for rent. Lastly, keep an eye out on the way up! There are wildlife in the surrounding woods, we saw half a dozen mountain sheep on the way in! 100% intend to return!
