This is the second time we have stayed here, and we like it. The setting is very pretty, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The only complaint I have is that I wish there were more showers and restrooms available. Four showers for a park full of campers is really not sufficient, and they could stand to be vented better! Otherwise, I recommend this location for those traveling this area.

Thanks for returning to us, Marcy! I agree that our facilities are a bit limited on busy weekend mornings. We have some unique utility challenges, as well as county restrictions, that make it difficult in our remote location. We will continue searching for opportunities to improve in this area!

KOA Cripple Creek was great for my family. It was everything I expected except for one issue. The campsite we originally were assigned was only accessible by an SUV or the like. After we tried and failed getting up the steep hill to tent site 11 in our van, the staff accommodated us with a normal site. This was very unexpected--there being a site that was not accessible to a regular vehicle.

Thanks for the review Rebecca, and glad you had a good stay! Site 11 does have quite a steep approach, although most folks do not have issues getting a regular vehicle up the hill. I suspect rain/wet grass may have made it more difficult. Glad we were able to accommodate you in another site!

The girl that checked us in was so sweet, she squeezed us in after a long day of driving. The campground itself was very clean And very nice. If ever by this way again we would absolutely stay here.

I met Peg (an employee) after a rain storm and we were talking about the vibrant double � rainbows and somehow we got on subject of our favorite birds. Mine is the hummingbird and hers was the dragonfly. Anyway the next day Peg stopped by our camper with a chart she found at local store of hummingbirds! She said she thought of me when she saw it! Thank you Peg, you are a blessing!

The stay was first class. All of the amenities were well maintained. The staff was hospitable and always tending to the kamp. We will recommend this site and be back.

I rented a cabin for one night. The cabin was very clean, the restrooms and showers were very clean and the operators are very friendly. Would definitely stop in again.

We love this little town for its rich history. Nice to be way out in the middle of nowhere so peaceful and quite. Usually stay for a day and a half. This koa has a really great staff.

Fantastic location to get away from the heat! We spent 1 month here in our 28’ long Airstream while working in the area. Plenty of room for our Airstream and tow vehicle. Owners and their staff work hard and it shows. Grounds and facilities are very clean and well cared for. Adequate supplies in the general store. The campground wifi is better than most.

The stay was excellent. The view around was excellent and there were so many fun activities to do in the camp. We would definitely recommend KoA cripple creek to everyone.

We loved our stay at this KOA. My only issue is how tight the roads and sites are to get into. Be prepared for some slow and steady maneuvering.

Thank you, April! Our campground was built in the early 90s, when big rigs were a little less big. :) Does take some concentration to get a large vehicle in/out, but our sites are all about 60' long so good to go once in.

Escaping the Texas heat brought me back to stay at Cripple Creek KOA. The owners, Terri & Deric, are equally the other reason for selecting this KOA. It was like visiting family. Majestic views, cold nights with a fire, temps during the day made hiking, sightseeing or just hanging around the campsite fun every day. I have never enjoyed a campground more than this one! Thank you Terri & Deric!

The campground is well maintained. There is a gorgeous view. Cripple Creek is an amazing town. The staff was very helpful. The owners were extremely helpful. They came and refilled my propane tank. When my propane regulator malfunctioned and we had no heat for the night (down into the lower 40's), they lent us there ceramic space heater. We were nice and warm. Highly recommended.

It was a great stay. It would have been nice for dogs to be allowed in the building since I have to walk the dogs in the morning and I usually have to go to the bathroom then too. That was the only inconvenience I did not experience in other KOA’s

Great location, great amenities. Camping cabin was situated with good privacy, had 2 rooms and even a small fenced yard for the dog. Kids loved pedal go-carts for rent.

What a great stay. Beautiful location in the mountains. The facilities were very clean and customer service top notch. Enjoyed a great pancake breakfast made by and served by the owner and her two sons. We will stay here again in the future. Well Done!

The owner was nice and accommodating with us to leave the camp for two of the tree days and still come back to our camp site (that we paid for) and dump or tanks before moving on to Ouray.

I loved my stay at this beautiful place! Every staff member was very helpful and friendly! We enjoyed the beautiful mountains views all throughout the campground and it is very close to many places to visit and see! I will come back in the future!

Awesome place. We stayed in a cabin for 2 nights it was clean and perfect for camping. The park grounds are open and not much to see but the background is gorgeous and there is a trail leading up the mountain on the trail we found fresh bear marks witch was awesome to see and makes perfect sense why they warn you not to leave out food.

Always a fan of KOA, but this one was especially impressive to us. It is family owned and operated, and it is evident in the upkeep that the family is proud of their business. The cabin we stayed in was immaculate, they were even installing a screen door on it when we checked in, perfect for cool mountain breezes! The campground also has a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen which was a fun experience in itself. I think our kids' favorite however were the pedal carts available for rent. Lastly, keep an eye out on the way up! There are wildlife in the surrounding woods, we saw half a dozen mountain sheep on the way in! 100% intend to return!
