It was a wonderful stay! This was our second stay at this KOA, and it was just as wonderful as the first time! Highly, highly recommended!

Beautiful location, friendly and knowledgable staff

Everything was great except it states there is a Off leash dog run that is no longer there. Might want to update your maps and website.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Dogs are welcome to run free in our large dog park. Our map doesn't state there is a leash-free dog park on the North side, but there is a graphic of a cartoon dog running free in that area.

The majestic views, cool weather and afternoon rain meant for a nap - this place could not be more perfect. The owners Derrick and Terrie (kids & Astro the puppy) were a delight. It was like staying with family. EVERYTHING was wiped down, cleaned, and masks were worn everywhere. I was dizzy watching them work sun up to sun down. I felt safe, comfortable and relaxed. I will be back, LOVED IT!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

So glad your extended stay was special! Enjoyed having you, and Astro LOVES the gift. We strive to treat our campers as guests in our home and it is GREAT to hear when we hit the mark. Thank you, and see you next year!

Our "premium site" had a view of other campers. It stated full hookups on the reservation website but the confirmation said something different. The gentleman who owned the campground was very nice and acknowledged how misleading the information had been. He refunded a few dollars but we really would not have chosen a campsite without sewer. We had been on the road for a week needed hookups.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

As we discussed, your site was water/electric because that is what you booked, which is why your confirmation stated so. Insisting you booked FHU does not make it so. I appreciate the feedback regarding our preferred sites (which cost $3 more). We will be doing away with that designation next year. I did, however, refund you triple the price difference from our standard sites.

The camp hosts are great. Very friendly and helpful.
Aug 01, 2020
Loved our site and this campground but the sites are way to small for a big rig Views were awesome
Aug 01, 2020
Staff was courteous. The bathrooms were the best in that there was a separate bathroom for men and for women.

Campsites close together, workers weed eating threw rocks on us and our vehicles. When we asked him to stop, he approached us to see what the problem was. He stood within a few feet without a mask. We asked him to stand 6 feet and he said he wasn’t at least 9 feet’ in a very condescending way. He was rude and disrespectful.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

No idea I was throwing gravel from 60 ft away. Understand it would be frustrating since I had earplugs in so couldn't hear you yelling. Came to apologize and YOU were condescending to "the help". Outdoors in the sun and wind, masks don't help. I did not get close to your party. I apologized profusely for UNKOWNINGLY spraying you with gravel; it was a mistake. You chose not to accept and post this.

Friendly staff, very clean grounds restrooms and shower plus spectacular views
Jul 31, 2020
Sites way to close and level, had full hookup but the sewer hookup ran uphill. Had plenty of rain but could not have a campfire won’t be back again

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you won't be returning since: 1. Fire restrictions are set by the county, as you may have noticed by the 10 FOOT FLASHING SIGNS ALL THE WAY UP THE MOUNTAIN! We enforce because we care about our pristine natural setting. 2. Sewer hookup is on grade on site 162, as with all our sites. I am happy to have feedback, particularly critical feedback I can address, but you are just fabricating issues.

We stayed here in space 140 from July 23 through the 25th. The owner is definitely doing everything possible to make this KOA a 5 star location. Gave it a 4 only because water ran out for a short time. The staff was polite, patient and responsive. The park is very clean and attractive. Our site was level. Some others perhaps not as much, but we were very happy with ours. WiFi was great.
Jul 29, 2020
It is in a beautiful location, but the grade in many of the sites make it difficult to get into and out of your rig. You are stepping onto a slope right off the steps onto slippery grass. The grassy areas are sloped and not really good for setting up chairs.
Jul 29, 2020
No water in the morning of departure. So no shower.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I apologize for that situation. We had an unexpected issue and water was out for about 2 hours.

Enjoyed our stay!

Very easy checking. Good pancake breakfast.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thomas, the pancake cook, thanks you!

Location: good Rv sites: narrow and short, crammed, neighbor noise Our site had no sewage: bad especially for the price Laundry: Good, but front loaders tend to retain musty smell Wifi: Newly revised wifi was very good

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

RV Sites: all about 60'x30'; pretty good considering we're terraced on a hill. Rates: competitive in Colorado. W/E only site: you booked it (60% of our sites are FHU). Neighbor noise: happy to enforce quiet hours, just ask. WiFi improvements: Thanks for noticing. Review: thanks for taking the time to post.

Great location, very clean, and excellent staff. Owners do a great job of enforcing the rules. The only reason I could not give a '10' rating or 5 stars was because we experienced a fresh water outage. Not sure what caused the issue.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

As with city utilities, we sometimes have brief outages. We addressed it with all due urgency. I apologize for the issue.
Jul 27, 2020
Staff was super nice about accommodating me after I did not complete my reservation on KOA site. Professional staff Thanks

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Always happy to help in any way we can!

Nothing exciting about this park. Unfortunately, with Covid, camping has a different face, which isn't this campground's fault. Spots (e/w) for our 35' unit weren't quite long enough to accommodate our RV and vehicle. Dump station not very convenient either.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Nothing exciting, unless you like nature! To each his own. Our sites are all about 60' long, but with larger rigs you will have to unhook. Dump station is level drive-through area on the path to park exit. Not sure how it could be any more convenient, unless we drove a sewer truck past your site.

Great hosts and staff. Beautiful area to stay. Sunsets were awesome. Our doggies rate your K 9 park the best they have ever played in

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you all enjoyed it!
Jul 26, 2020
Site115 was very difficult to get out of..Large rocks on front right corner need to be removed . 28 ft trailer tires hit the rocks no matter how wide you turn. Also when i was checking in the guy in the trailer behind got out of his truck and walked up past us and the trailer in front of me. They checked him in before me. I was waiting in my truck as your supposed to do during Covid. Nice location

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry you had difficulty getting out of the site. Rocks are covering a drainage culvert so can't remove them. It is tight, but large rigs have navigated successfully with no problems. Thanks for taking the time to post a review!
Jul 26, 2020
very cleanThe people running the KOA were exceptionally friendly and helpful! Wifi stunk while we were there, but some would consider that a plus. (They were working on it while we were there, but we left before it was working properly)

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you enjoyed the technology escape! Our upgrade went well and campers are telling us WiFi is good now! Thanks for the review.

Second visit, good people and great spot, only negatives were no sewage drain at space173 spot and water was shut off the morning we were leaving, non issue for us as we were leaving however, several neighbors were pissed as no one was notified? We will definitely stay at this KOA location in the future , what a great location!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you enjoyed your stay! My apologies on the water issue. It was out unexpectedly for about 2 hours, but did what I could to restore ASAP. See you next time!
Jul 25, 2020
Very neat place to stay. Everyone was nice and friendly. You are right on the side of a mountain with great views. It was a quite place to stay relax and enjoy the outdoors.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Little different than Arizona, eh? Glad you enjoyed our little mountain getaway!
Jul 24, 2020
Had a great time. Very quite and clean. Wildlife was around while there. In the middle of no where, which is nice. You do have to drive alot to get to places. The roads are very curvy. Us Florida people are not use to that, but enjoyed every minute of it. Staff was great and ver friendly.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you had a GREAT time! Come see us again the next time you want to escape the Florida heat.
Jul 23, 2020
Nice campground. Spots are close together. Hard to get a long rig in place.

Since star gazing is the main draw, maybe you should invest in dark sky compliant lights? Camp kitchen flood lights washout the stars when they are on. Otherwise a nicely maintained and clean campground.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for the review! The lights at the camp kitchen illuminate the surrounding area for eating and prep, as needed. The lights are on a timer so they will not stay on if nobody is there. We love our starry nights too!
Jul 22, 2020
Very nice place with beautiful views and friendly owners!
Jul 22, 2020
Very nice maintained campground. Nice and friendly staff
Jul 22, 2020
Parking was very tight Pulling a 36' motor home and a truck behind it not enough Room to park both vehicles are neighbors on both sides were within 10' again too tight Restrooms are only at the main building We're expecting them to be at the top and bottom as most KOA

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We're on the side of a hill and our terraced and staggered sites are all about 60' long and about 30' wide. Had you indicated you were towing when you booked, you would have received a notification that you would have to unhook. Our facilities are exactly where we advertise them to be so if you expect otherwise you will be disappointed. We are unique and strive to NOT be like "most KOAs".
Jul 21, 2020
Nice campground, but sites are very close as well as poor water pressure.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our sites are all about 30' wide, and site 140 where you stayed is about 35,' and you only have a neighbor on one side. If your main concern for camping in the mountains is your water pressure (ours is adequate since we're pumping it uphill), you probably shouldn't be visiting scenic and remote camp

Awesome place. We stayed in a cabin for 2 nights it was clean and perfect for camping. The park grounds are open and not much to see but the background is gorgeous and there is a trail leading up the mountain on the trail we found fresh bear marks witch was awesome to see and makes perfect sense why they warn you not to leave out food.

Always a fan of KOA, but this one was especially impressive to us. It is family owned and operated, and it is evident in the upkeep that the family is proud of their business. The cabin we stayed in was immaculate, they were even installing a screen door on it when we checked in, perfect for cool mountain breezes! The campground also has a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen which was a fun experience in itself. I think our kids' favorite however were the pedal carts available for rent. Lastly, keep an eye out on the way up! There are wildlife in the surrounding woods, we saw half a dozen mountain sheep on the way in! 100% intend to return!
