Our family goes to this KOA most summers for a family reunion. We are never disappointed with the service, kindness of the staff, and nice facilities.

Deric and Terri were absolutely awesome! For a Texas family on their first RV adventure, we were so lucky to snag a site for a couple of days on a packed Covid-driven RV weekend. Everything we needed, they were there to provide. We have no idea how they manage to work such long hours every single day when every site is occupied... All we can say is go there and support this incredible family!!!

We had a very nice stay. Common areas were very clean and everyone was masked up. WI-FI is not reliable so keep that in mind. Lots of hiking trails in the area to visit.

We had the most beautiful site. It had a custom built deck, gas grill, and a patio set. The view was awesome. We also had a small grassy area, fire pit, and custom ski bench in the grass area below the deck with a path walking down to it.

Site 170 seemed a good target for a Patio site since it was the single most sloped RV site we have. Seemed obvious to put in a deck so you can see over all the other campers below you. Glad you agree!

Gorgeous few, great play areas for the kids. We would have liked if our area in front of the camper would have been leveled a little so we could have used our grill, fireplace and Picknick table more comfortable.

Since we're on the side of a hill, level ground is hard to come by. We have been (and are continuing) to improve all our sites, including addressing many of the un-level yard areas in the RV sites.

Great Staff very friendly and helpful. However with no cell service the internet service could use a little updating.

Unfortunately our remote location is the main cause for both of your concerns. AT&T cell service we have no influence over. Internet service has been an ongoing effort and we have made multiple improvements over the years. At this time we have a decent service into the campground and have a second round of onsite hardware upgrades next week. Will never have speeds/reliability of the city, though.

Very scenic location with mountain meadow views and great sunsets. Site was clean, and staff was very helpful and professional in accommodating our need to change our camp site. Weather was a big positive as temperatures were mild in daytime and cool at night.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Cripple Creek KOA. This was our first time there. The RV sites along with the cabins and tent sites were in excellent shape. Everything onsite was cleaned and disinfectant all the time. Terri and Deric (hosts) were very friendly and very helpful if needed. They are awesome people. Their staff workers were incredible as well. Beautiful place to camp.

I didn’t rate it a 5 because there were unlicensed youngsters riding ATV’s around the campground well into the evening. Rather disturbing with the noise, the dust it created and the speed they were traveling as daylight faded.

We do our best to manage the activities onsite without stifling each camper's perspective of fun. We did shut down the kids on ATVs both weekend nights, although I agree that we should have done so earlier the first night. For the most part, they did keep it slow and under control so we let them continue with their fun. Apologies for the inconvenience!

Our first use of a pop up and loved it! Bathrooms and toilets were clean and great. Views really nice! Definitely will be back!

Paid for premium sites but couldn’t see view do to obstruction from those parked next to us. Sites are not level

I'm sorry you weren't happy with our preferred top site. Parking pads are all quite level. We're on a hill so level ground is limited but your site 150 has a 200 sq ft level pad which should give you ample space for seating around your fire pit and picnic table. Sites are staggered so your neighbor wouldn't generally block your view 100%. Glad this didn't ruin your stay. Thanks for the review!

This is my "go to" place for camping in Teller County. I have been visiting this KOA ever since I got my first travel trailer--nearly 15 years ago. Service is always first-rate, as is the condition of the grounds.

One man, (grey hair and beard )at this KOA was very rude to us when he chased us up the road, yelling, to our spot to tell us we were going the wrong way on a oneway. We were going the wrong way so we could head into our spot at a good angle for parking our truck. It was noon with no traffic and his behavior was uncalled for. He was not practicing Covid protocol, no mask and right up next to us

Thank you for your feedback, and I especially appreciate you sharing this with me in person before you departed. The safety of our campers is our greatest concern and the main reason for one-way flow. I apologize if you were treated rudely and I did have a chat with our employee, whose concern is safety. CDC does not recommend masks in the outdoors, but he should have kept 6' distance.

The location is beautiful but very busy. Terri has worked hard to find us slots without a reservation. It’s very well managed. All the staff work hard to clean and maintain everything.

It is a lovely setting. Due to Covid, we didn't have much contact with the owner/manager... but she was very friendly, efficient and prompt in getting us situated. t Unfortunately, after paying for a "premium view," we had a spot that looked out onto the back of the camper in front of us. It's better to underpromise than overpromise as it set us up to be disappointed. But it is beautiful & clean!

It's always a great time at the Cripple Cteek KOA..the views are spectacular there. The people are always friendly. We always stay there when we camp in Cripple Creek.

Best KOA we have stayed at. This was the third time this year we stayed at the Cripple Creek KOA. Beautiful area and a great location to stay if you are visiting the Teller County area. Just be prepared for quick changes in the weather even in the summer!

The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The site did run out of water for a few hours but the corrected it as soon as they could. Our site was very uneven but nice view

Beautiful campground! Meticulously maintained and the staff is awesome. We stopped for a night and stayed a month. The wifi doesn’t work very well even with a booster but we had many more fun things to do!

Been to this KOA several times, it's one of our favorites. We booked this trip in January, with 2 parties and were told we had 2 spots co-located at the top of the hill. Upon arrival we're in the middle of the hill, located across the drive at an angle from each other. The smaller camper was put in the 50 amp site with the larger in a 30 amp site which was backwards, luckily we had an adapter.

Sorry to see you weren't completely satisfied this trip. We had several email and phone chats in Jan and Apr and seemed you understood what sites you had booked. You reserved two different site types and std sites are not at the top of the hill. I got you as close as possible given the constraints of your reservations. Both were in your name so wld be up to you to pick the right site for ea camper

Character limit prevents proper explanation of likes/dislikes. Here is our summary: Site not long enough for our rig. (Actual length given, assigned site only fit truck after moving table. Table/yard unusable.) WiFi terrible... readily acknowledged by staff. Great cell signal (Ver). Very clean campground. Beautiful scenery. Pleasant staff. THANK YOU for refund after illness cut stay short.

Thank YOU for the balanced review! Working on resolving some of the issues you called out and appreciate the feedback. Regarding site length, there is a note when you book that you will have to unhook to fit. Given our early 90's big-rig sized sites, it happens very frequently. Unfortunately you were in one of our narrower sites, but I have to disagree that it is "unusable".

Awesome place. We stayed in a cabin for 2 nights it was clean and perfect for camping. The park grounds are open and not much to see but the background is gorgeous and there is a trail leading up the mountain on the trail we found fresh bear marks witch was awesome to see and makes perfect sense why they warn you not to leave out food.

Always a fan of KOA, but this one was especially impressive to us. It is family owned and operated, and it is evident in the upkeep that the family is proud of their business. The cabin we stayed in was immaculate, they were even installing a screen door on it when we checked in, perfect for cool mountain breezes! The campground also has a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen which was a fun experience in itself. I think our kids' favorite however were the pedal carts available for rent. Lastly, keep an eye out on the way up! There are wildlife in the surrounding woods, we saw half a dozen mountain sheep on the way in! 100% intend to return!
