The best Koa I've stayed at! I tent and there is a canopy over the picnic table along with a shelf to put your stove and food on. Washing dishes was so nice in a separate area with 2 sinks, dish/hand soaps and scrubber. Staff super nice. Nice gravel tent areas.

Worried we would be tent camping beside the road but the primitive spots were great! Clean bathrooms...friendly staff. Only negative is the late check-in time. You lose a day that you could be relaxing and at the price per night, it would be great to have more time. Especially since it has such an early checkout!

My boyfriend and I stayed at a deluxe tent site. It was our first time at any KOA, and it was great! All the facilities very clean, face masks required in public areas (including restrooms), I felt very safe. There are gorgeous views of the mountains as well. There's a hiking trail in the back that's really nice (but a bit hard to follow!).

Our tent spot was a bit difficult to find. A few more signs would be super helpful in the dark! Otherwise, a great spot - and now I can say I have stayed at the highest KOA in the world! Thank you!

Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly right from the moment I pulled up to check in. The tent sites are beautifully tucked away in the trees with a gorgeous view. The propane fire pit rental was amazing and so worth it.

Cripple Creek KOA is in a gorgeous location. The primative tent camp sites are very secluded and in the trees with plenty of privacy. Scenery is spectacular. We saw deer in the vacant sites next to us.

Camp sites were clean and beautiful, however they were quite close to other sites. The tent pads were too small and we were rolling down the hill throughout the night. If they were just a few square feet larger it would be much more comfortable. Just too small for even an average size tent. Clubhouse was clean and easily accessible.

Sorry your stay wasn't fabulous. Our primitive tent sites have varying sized tent pads and unfortunately T2 where you stayed has a smaller 8x8 pad. Working toward enlarging all our tent pads if possible so hope to address that. Please call to confirm pad size next time.

Wonderful 2-night stay in the more secluded, non-luxury tent area. Site was well prepared with a level gravel area for pitching the tent. Other tent camping neighbors were far enough away as to be out of site and quiet most of the time. Propane fire stoves worked well in lieu of the non-allowed campfires. Convenient access to Cripple Creek and several local hiking trails.

Very quiet. Sometimes very windy. Witnessed 2 tents dismantled by the wind on separate occasions. Nice facilities.

I called ahead so I knew where to pick up out reservation papers, we were set to arrive after the offices had closed for the day. The woman on the phone was very helpful. Once we arrived finding our tent site in the dark as a little difficult but we found it. The site was quiet and secluded very nice! Only suggestions put a little light by tent site sign & having more bathrooms would be nice.

Loved it. Definitely exceeded expectations. Staff super friendly and helpful. Amenities were above and beyond what we expected (really good showers, clean restrooms, sinks for campers to clean cookware). Beautiful scenery and great location. Thanks for having us.

Peggy was very helpful on Saturday attempting to help my granddaughters set up our tent before it started raining. I then went to the office to see if a cabin was available for the night due to the rain. A gentleman was in the office bleeding from a head wound due to a canopy hitting him in the head. I was able to provide first aid to the wound since I am a nurse. I received the cabin for free.

I enjoyed my tent site. I appreciate how clean the restrooms and shower were. I also appreciate the precautions the store staff took on keeping things safe and clean.

We camped in the "Meadows" in tents. (Don't expect it to be perfectly level, you are on the side of a mountain.) The view is beautiful. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The pancake breakfeast was good and saved us some time preparing food and cleaning up. We didn't use it, but the camp kitchen looked like it would be very useful especially for tent campers. Thanks for the experience!

We booked out of the convenience and availability, but this campground was lackluster in delivery. There is a fire ban in Teller County and MULTIPLE campsites still had wood fires. We notified the staff and the next night the same campsites continued to host wood campfires. Our campsite was extremely angled and challenging to tent on. A nice campground with a gorgeous view besides that.

MULTIPLE campsites had a PROPANE fire, which is legal under current burn restriction. I checked personally when I heard you reported your neighbors (THANK YOU for doing that!) and there had not been wood in that fire pit for some time. They did have a large propane burner, so you likely saw flames from that.

Campsites were clean. There aren’t enough bathrooms or showers and one or another was always out of order. Toilet paper needed to be stocked more often. Bathrooms and showers were closed for a long time for cleaning given that there weren’t enough in the first place. The women staff working the store were grumpy and not very friendly. The men staff were accommodating and friendly.

Stuff breaks, I fix it, sometimes it takes more than a day. Bathrooms are never closed for cleaning as long as the posted cleaning window. We did have a vandal empty out TP in men's bathroom; we stock it at 7pm, 8am and all day long. My apologies if you feel you were mistreated; we do our best to treat everyone warmly and welcoming.

We enjoyed our stay, just hoped that it didn't rain as much though. Great hospitality by the owners. We talked to Deric a few minutes when we were walking around the area and he gave us some good information. We hiked up to the knoll and great, great views. We loved the pancake breakfast. Will go back again.

Didn’t feel super safe knowing I was surrounded by Trump lovers. They made rude comments to us about my car and from then on we were worried. Bathrooms weren’t available as promised - they were closed at any random times of the day or night... NOT ideal when camping in the middle of nowhere. Workers were rude: I asked for help getting around the site with my car (lots of one ways) and he ignor

Are you possibly confusing your stay with us and another campground? You stayed in a Deluxe Tent site with us and roads there are two-way. We ALWAYS help when requested. Bathrooms are ONLY closed noon to 2pm for cleaning. We would not tolerate anyone making you feel unsafe.

We tent camped. Site T11. Beautiful view overlooking campground. Check in was easily done (curbside). Slight road noise but not bad. Overall 2 thumbs up.

My wife and I have been tent camping for years but have never stayed at a KOA until this year when we stayed at two, including CCKOA. We were blown away by the care and hard work put in by the staff to make this an incredible place to stay for families. The facilities were top notch, clean, and well maintained this is a wonderful place to get away from it all. Highly recommend and we will be back!

Awesome place. We stayed in a cabin for 2 nights it was clean and perfect for camping. The park grounds are open and not much to see but the background is gorgeous and there is a trail leading up the mountain on the trail we found fresh bear marks witch was awesome to see and makes perfect sense why they warn you not to leave out food.

Always a fan of KOA, but this one was especially impressive to us. It is family owned and operated, and it is evident in the upkeep that the family is proud of their business. The cabin we stayed in was immaculate, they were even installing a screen door on it when we checked in, perfect for cool mountain breezes! The campground also has a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen which was a fun experience in itself. I think our kids' favorite however were the pedal carts available for rent. Lastly, keep an eye out on the way up! There are wildlife in the surrounding woods, we saw half a dozen mountain sheep on the way in! 100% intend to return!
