We have been camping for 30 years and this is by far the worst experience we have ever had. I don’t even know how to describe the strange and rude behavior of the female owner. She approaches anyone sitting out at their fire even if you’re being very quiet as were. She insulted us, threatened to kick us out for no reason. She kept standing there wanting confrontation. From the moment you walk into register everyone is very friendly and attentive to you. The cabin and site were very clean and had everything you would need for your stay. Will definitely be going back!

While the staff was friendly, the camp ground itself was not kept up as I have stayed at other KOA’s that were kept in better condition. The area was muddy and puddles just laid in the stones. The bathrooms need to be updated and as a female could not be comfortable because there wasn’t enough room.

We had a great time. The Owners are very nice and go above and beyond. Even though they were short staffed (College students returning to school) you never did not see a worker or the owner out and about. The owner even took it upon himself to for warn everyone about high winds coming and helped to lower someone’s canopy so it didn’t get damaged since the campers weren’t home.

Would not stay here ever again! Woman walked around arguing with people who were following the rules. Threatened us that we had to leave knowing that customers had been drinking. Would never stay here again due to the harassment we dealt with.

We enjoyed our stay. Only concern with the site we had it needed more gravel. After rain water laid there & didn't really dry up like other sites. Became a mud hole. Fire ring was so close to road for everyone to set around it some had to set on road. But overall good stay. Everyone very friendly.

We loved everything about our 7 night stay in patio site 53. The campground had everything we and our grandson enjoyed - pool, evening movies, rec room, laundry, store, dog walks, and pond. Loads of kids to make new friends in a safe environment. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and owners and staff work hard. Loved wood delivered and daily trash and recycling pick up. Close to everything Erie.

This is our 4th time visiting with our family, and it was as beautiful and pleasant as always. New owners are friendly and available. They claim to be short staffed but we didn’t notice. No issues. Well maintained cabin and grounds. Store is being renovated so not as fully stocked but had everything we needed. Looking forward to another visit.

We only stopped in for an overnight. The campsite was very nice and very clean. Bathrooms and shower areas were clean and adequate also.

Very friendly and helpful staff/nice park/very clean Only comment would be that some sites are small for big rigs. We probably should have been put elsewhere. Our neighbor’s awning almost touched our camper.

This is a great family campground with enough amenities and not too crowded. They enforce the rules so it's safe, quiet and relaxing. My daughter could ride her bike around and we could have enjoyable evenings by the fire. Can't recommend this campground and the owners enough!!!!

The only complaint we had with our stay is that the bathrooms were not cleaned once. Usually when we stayed in the past several years they were cleaned daily.

We have stayed at this Campground in the past. Always very well kept. This stay we found things not as clean. Bathrooms and showers were not like they were in the past. The new owners are very friendly, and I assume like every other business They're struggling to find workers so short staffed is the issue. However, keeping the bathrooms clean is a must. We will be back next year!!! Keep working

After a rocky start ( on our first night being scolded for making noise at our campfire which we weren’t guilty of), we enjoyed our stay and even extended it twice so our grandkids could join us. They loved the playground, bouncy pad, pool and nightly movies. It was also a great launch pad for our visits to Presque Isle and Waldameer water park. This KOA was very clean and well maintained.

We all had a great time. The kids had an absolute blast with the pool, playground, jump pad and movies and ice cream in the pavilion! We will definitely be back!

We were berated like children at 11:30 pm for listening to music, at half volume, through the speaker of my cell phone. None of our neighbors had heard us. I am 50 years old, and the Executive Director of an Assisted Living. We weren't bothering anyone. I haven't been treated so rudely in my life. You couldn't pay me to return to a KOA. Luckily, we found another campsite to finish our weekend

Enjoyed the campground overall, facilities, and our tent site. Disappointed to learn when we arrived that there was no Sunday pancake breakfast, as that was one of the reasons we chose this campground. Also had to pay an additional $10 per night so my son could sleep in his own tent, when there were only 4 of us on our site (1 adult, 3 children).

Amazing time, I just love this campground. It’s, hands down, my kids favorite place in the world. We stay for a week every year. This year they changed owners and we couldn’t be more happy. They are a wonderful couple and we look forward to coming for at least another 12 years!

Enjoyed our stay. This was our second time staying with you folks over the last two years. Our three grandchildren enjoyed fishing at Rainbow Lake. The one thing they were disappointed in was the fact that there was no basketball court. The Wifi strength throughout the campground could use an upgrade so that strong signals can be obtained. Staff was friendly and campground clean.

Loved our site! Staff able to help me get my mother in law in a day sooner. Bathrooms need updated. Definitely would recommend to friends and family. We've been coming for several years to this KOA.

We had wanted a full hook up site but were unable to get one. They put us in an electric and water site. It was very close to the bathrooms and actually when we go back, and yes we will go back, we will probably ask for that same site again. The owner and employees were exceptionally nice. It was quiet and the bathrooms were very clean. I can't say enough nice things about this KOA! It was great!

Our family loves this campground! Very family friendly! New owners are very nice and always working to make the campground an enjoyable place for all. And it's just a short drive to presque isle, the zoo and many other thing in Erie.

Just finished our 4th and unfortunately last trip for the '21 season. We had so much fun this summer at the McKean PA KOA!! We tent camped with amenities. This campground is family friendly with a heated pool, playground, arcade and other amenities for kids. We love the catch and release pond. There's some big ones in there, my husband has caught them. We really enjoyed ourselves everytime we stayed. (even when it rained) The staff were All Always Awesome!! They Always treated us Wonderfully!! The bathrooms were kept clean.The owner even gave us a specific site because of a medical condition I have. (Thank you Jamie!! :) All of our trips have been just what I needed after losing my Dad a few months ago. If you camp at KOA's we suggest signing up for the KOA Rewards program. It saves you money and you get to stay for free at a KOA one designated weekend a year. If you're planning a trip to Erie we Highly recommend the McKean, PA KOA!! The campground sits right off of I79 and beautiful Presque Isle is just a short drive away! We're planning to purchase a pop-up this off season and our first trip with it will be to the McKean. **UPDATE October 2021 We got our "new pup" and stayed in McKean for a long Halloween theme weekend. It was wonderful of the owners to plan such fun activities for the kiddos. I really enjoyed decorating and handing out candy!*** I also just want to say that we Never heard anyone around us ever complain about any of the staff any of the 5 times we stayed there! We also never saw or heard any type of confrontation between staff and guests anywhere in the campground. All we saw were Very Hard working owners & staff who just wanted to keep everyone happy & safe and ensure everyone had a good time!
