It was a great experience! The staff was friendly and when the water and cable went out, they addressed and fixed it very quickly. Our cabin had big furniture which made it difficult to move around but it was very clean and cozy. There are many activities to do in the campground and in the area. 10/10 would recommend!

I previously stayed at this KOA with my family a few years ago with the other owners! I urge you not to listen to the negative reviews of this KOA! They were excellent anything you needed they didn’t hesitate to help! We had some trouble with our stove and grill but after that we were good to go! My only complaint is we didn’t have dish sponges or dish towels and we didn’t have hand soap 100

The staff was friendly at the desk. Our cabin and the site around it was really nice and clean. Even the fire pit was cleaned out. Beautiful campground.

It's pricey, but the area is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. There's unique ways to stay too: cabins and teepee's in particular.

17 people/7 sites coming for 15 years. No one booked again.New owners creep up behind you in personal space.Told us talking too loud.Literally were told to whisper not speak out loud after 11.asked why we couldnt talk and threatened with cops. 4 of us have NYS badges - not rowdy.Many campers kicked out no refund, some for laughing after 11pm Everyone upset all weekend. Check reviews - need refund

We have been staying here for many years with a large group of friends. IF it weren't for tradition, we would not have returned...However this year has changed our mind. We immediately noticed the grounds were noticeably different. A new owner is investing sweat equity and it shows! Cabins were cleaned better than ever and common areas were beautifully maintained. Our stay was very enjoyable!

Nice Place!!!! Our cabin had a great view. The cabin was nice and well kept. The whole campground seemed well kept. Only negative thing I can say is some of the entertainment we where hoping to do was closed. We would definitely come back again.

Staff was amazing. Super friendly. Cabin (Delux) was clean. Only criticism I can offer is the shower head was horrid, for a moment I thought there wasn't one. But not having the perfection luxuries of home add to the experience of cabin camping. Kids loved it. Highly recommend for families. It was our FIRST family vacation and thanks to KOA it was successful. We now plan on visiting other KOAs!

We stayed last year and loved it and had alot more people with us staying in different cabins was able to relax listen to music and fish this year was me my husband and 2 children we were told that our music was too loud when it was so low I could barely hear it (my husband hates loud music)I came to relax felt as though I was in a concentration camp and the pond had dead fish floating around

We had a wonderful long weekend at this KOA with family and friends. This is by far the nicest, most well kept KOA that we have stayed at in years . Owners and staff were incredible and made the stay even more enjoyable. It is family oriented with lots to do with the kids. Local attractions especially Persque Island State Park a must see. Plenty of local shopping! Highly recommend this campground!

We’ve been staying at KOA’s for 15 years & this, by far, is the worst experience at a KOA. We have 4 kids. My wife and I were quietly sitting around the fire after 11PM when we were accosted by the owners. Kids in bed, my wife & I at the fire just sitting enjoying a beverage. They said to go inside and “call it a night”. The owners were rude and unapologetic. WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN.

The KOA in Erie is run like a Gustopo Cam. My grandchildren would not stay the second night because they were traumatized by Jamie and mean wife. They stalk around at night with flashlights hoping to find someone breaking the law that includes kids laughing inside a cabin. Will not recommend this campground as long as Jamie and Sharon are in charge. 3 cabins near us said they will never be back.

We camped here when I was a kid more than two decades ago. I'm happy to say not much has changed. Pristine areas. Immaculate facilities. We could order firewood at the store and it'd be delivered right to our site. My only real criticism is I wish the store was open maybe an hour later, but can't really complain as the owners work hard to keep everything running smoothly and everyone happy.

We had a great stay in our cabin. Jamie, the owner was very friendly and so were the other staff.The grounds were pretty and it was nice a quiet. The pool was warm and clean but the edges were a little moldy, but we still enjoyed and it was an easy drive to the beach. We had a nice time! Oh and the store was convenient and reasonably priced for goodies and whatever else you may need.

After coming here for 13 straight years, we won’t be back here unless the new owners sell. The owners are quiet hour Nazis who threaten to call the police on you if you don’t whisper. They don’t even want you outside after 11pm. The woman was rude, threatening and unprofessional. Plus they got rid of the goats, rabbits, & the bounce pad & paddle boats are off limits. The kids didn’t enjoy

The owners are terrible. Seriously, this place has nice facilities but it’s not worth the harassment from the owners. They show up unannounced on our decking yelling at us for talking around a campfire after 11pm, twice. When we questioned them, they called the state police! We will be taking other actions in addition to this review. Please read other similar reviews on google etc.

Having been seasoned campers, this camping experience was unacceptable not due to accommodations but to the owners and the way the campground is run.The new owners are rude, disrespectful and hostile; harassing not only us (a family of 4 with young children) but other campers. Their behavior was unacceptable for any adult/management. We will not be returning or recommending this KOA. Stay away!

We have been coming the the Erie Holiday KOA for years. It’s always wonderful and this year we talked to the owners various times and they were always so friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and well kept.

We had a great time! We stayed in the deluxe cabin 1 and it was so nice! My 3 year old loved the campground and all the nearby activities in Erie. I've been coming to this campground since I was a kid, and my family and I plan on returning next summer. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The owner's wife was rude. I have stayed at this campground a number of years at the end of summer with my children. I was at my fire at 11 pm and was essentially told that we could not even talk or be outside. Her demeanor was inappropriate and rude. I will never return and have recommended to my friends that typically come to never return.

We have been spending a long weekend with several friends for the last 15 years or so. The new owners treated us like children. We have always enjoyed sitting around our campfire listening to music and catching up on each others lives. If you enjoy that don't book here. ANY sound after 11:00pm and they threaten to throw you out. We are already planning to find a new location next year.

I stayed in one of the cabins. It was very comfortable and cleaned. I would stay there anytime. The staff was very friendly.

From the moment you walk into register everyone is very friendly and attentive to you. The cabin and site were very clean and had everything you would need for your stay. Will definitely be going back!

We enjoyed our stay. Only concern with the site we had it needed more gravel. After rain water laid there & didn't really dry up like other sites. Became a mud hole. Fire ring was so close to road for everyone to set around it some had to set on road. But overall good stay. Everyone very friendly.

This is our 4th time visiting with our family, and it was as beautiful and pleasant as always. New owners are friendly and available. They claim to be short staffed but we didn’t notice. No issues. Well maintained cabin and grounds. Store is being renovated so not as fully stocked but had everything we needed. Looking forward to another visit.

We all had a great time. The kids had an absolute blast with the pool, playground, jump pad and movies and ice cream in the pavilion! We will definitely be back!

Our family loves this campground! Very family friendly! New owners are very nice and always working to make the campground an enjoyable place for all. And it's just a short drive to presque isle, the zoo and many other thing in Erie.

Just finished our 4th and unfortunately last trip for the '21 season. We had so much fun this summer at the McKean PA KOA!! We tent camped with amenities. This campground is family friendly with a heated pool, playground, arcade and other amenities for kids. We love the catch and release pond. There's some big ones in there, my husband has caught them. We really enjoyed ourselves everytime we stayed. (even when it rained) The staff were All Always Awesome!! They Always treated us Wonderfully!! The bathrooms were kept clean.The owner even gave us a specific site because of a medical condition I have. (Thank you Jamie!! :) All of our trips have been just what I needed after losing my Dad a few months ago. If you camp at KOA's we suggest signing up for the KOA Rewards program. It saves you money and you get to stay for free at a KOA one designated weekend a year. If you're planning a trip to Erie we Highly recommend the McKean, PA KOA!! The campground sits right off of I79 and beautiful Presque Isle is just a short drive away! We're planning to purchase a pop-up this off season and our first trip with it will be to the McKean. **UPDATE October 2021 We got our "new pup" and stayed in McKean for a long Halloween theme weekend. It was wonderful of the owners to plan such fun activities for the kiddos. I really enjoyed decorating and handing out candy!*** I also just want to say that we Never heard anyone around us ever complain about any of the staff any of the 5 times we stayed there! We also never saw or heard any type of confrontation between staff and guests anywhere in the campground. All we saw were Very Hard working owners & staff who just wanted to keep everyone happy & safe and ensure everyone had a good time!
