Get ready to ride where adventure meets breathtaking scenery! Here in Grants, New Mexico, we’re proud to be a must-stop destination for cyclists exploring the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route — the longest off-pavement bike trail in the world. Riders along the Divide love stopping in Grants for our welcoming community, scenic rest stops, and the chance to refuel with great food, comfortable lodging, and plenty of small-town charm before continuing their journey through the high desert and mountain passes.
But the Great Divide is just the beginning! Our area is packed with incredible biking opportunities. From the volcanic landscapes of El Malpais National Monument to the winding singletrack trails of the Zuni Mountain Trail System, and the challenging climbs up Mount Taylor, there’s no shortage of adventure on two wheels. The Zuni trails feature over 50 miles of scenic singletrack weaving through pine forests and ancient lava flows — while Mount Taylor rewards every pedal stroke with sweeping panoramic views that stretch for miles.
If you prefer a more relaxed ride, take a spin down Historic Route 66 for a taste of nostalgia and true New Mexico beauty. And if you’re up for a challenge, join us for one of our local biking events like the Mount Taylor 50K or multi-sport races that celebrate endurance, elevation, and the adventurous spirit of the Southwest.
After a long day of riding, Grants KOA Journey is the perfect place to rest and recharge. Enjoy a hot shower, Complimentary Breakfast, do a quick load of laundry and order a hearty BBQ dinner delivered right to your site. Whether you’re camping under the stars, staying in one of our cozy cabins, or just stopping by to refuel, our friendly team is here to make you feel at home.
