Campground Reviews

Having just losing my mom in April, I wanted to do something different for Thanksgiving with my son. We’ve always wanted to rent a cabin for Thanksgiving, so we did at the Harpers Ferry KOA. It was most wonderful that we could bring our two dogs. We had a beautiful holiday, and were able to cook a ten pound Turkey on the grill. We definitely want to come back in the summer.

Great people! Fast and easy check in after reserving our spot on the KOA app. Beautiful Ridgeline view in the winter. We got a perfectly flat parking pad for our rooftop tent. Great experience, would stay again.

Great stay overall. Only issues we had were the bathroom and showers connected to the laundry room were never cleaned while we stayed there (Sat-Thur). Main showers and bathrooms were fine.

Super Clean - great site. A wonderful experience. It caused me to join KOA Rewards. We'll be back!

Love this campground! Helpful and responsive staff. Gorgeous patio sites - only wish there were more!

Great locations for a lot of exploring. Lots to do for families. Everything is very convenient even for newer campers.

Needs new management. Manager not only treats her workers like crap but the customers like crap to! Pretty bad when employees need to warn of [Jess coming in}. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Campground clean, staff friendly/helpful. Cabins clean. Would have given 5 stars except tent pads are coarse gravel, not finely ground gravel/sand. Thus concerns re damage to tent footing and uncomfortable to get in/out of tent. If not comfortable to walk barefoot on, not good to set tent on! Otherwise, convenient location, great stay! Will be back, hope they fix tent pads so I can give 5 stars.

We loved it! Harpers Ferry is beautiful!! The campground featured lots of things and walking there was a joy!

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Bath rooms were kept very clean. Our travel trailer is 35' long. Sites #28 - 47 with 50 amp electric are narrow and very tight fit especially getting in and out. If there are trailers on both sides you may have to ask one of them to move their trucks to exit. Other than that, we had a good time despite the cold and wind.

We loved the area and visiting the historic places. Harper’s Ferry is a cool town and the camp ground is so close by.

Filthy laundry room - filthy bathroom in laundry room building - price quoted with online reservation not amount ultimately charged to credit card (pets “yes” noted with reservation; asked about dogs when checking in but no explanation about daily dog charge just charged the difference; asked staff about difference and was given a curt explanation). Too bad about bad experience

Site was very spacious. Trash service was a plus & when our neighbor had a sewage backup the staff was quick to respond & take care of the issue. Activities were poorly planned. Tie dye event didn’t have any staff helping, just collecting money so you were left to figure it out by the instructions on the table. Shirt got dyed before we started because the table had dye on it from previous person

Great park and perfect location to see the sights and battlefields around Harpers Ferry. Only criticism is that it was tight quarters and difficult to maneuver some of the bigger units around. Glad we left on a Monday when there were empty sites to help get out. Staff very friendly and lots of activities to keep you busy. Would stay there again.

The area is very nice. The campground is very crowded; sites are very tight together.

Not sure why this is in French, but I understood the questions. As usual we had a great weekend at Harpers Ferry KOA! One thing that I forgot to mention when checking out is that in cabin KL06 the fuse to the outlet by the kitchen sink (with the Kiurig) kept tripping which also kicked the heat off.

Smallest pull thru site I have ever had at a KOA. Had to disconnect toad due to the tight layout they have - defeats the purpose of a pull thru. The site had cardboard boxes place in the mud puddle as there was no grass there. Trash bags from last camper not picked up. Fire ring full of bottle corks too. This KOA also has an archaic dog breed policy, like racial profiling. DON'T STAY HERE!

Unlevel and cramped sites. It was definitely a show watching anyone come in to see how they would make it into their sites. Over the weekend, I saw one rip off a landing jack due to the uneven surface getting into the site. Another rolled Boulder out of the way to turn out of the cramped site. It rained and one site was swamped the entire weekend. Quiet times are not followed nor enforced.

Arrived Thursday 11/11 left Sunday 11/14 site 081: very friendly and professional check in staff, very clean registration/camp store area. Staff were friendly as they went about their work around the campground always waving or saying hello. been staying her for 10+ years typically as a group with 5 or more units. We had neighbors who partied every night until midnight or later-loud obnoxious

We said the last time we were here we were not coming back. We did and this time we are for sure done with this KOA! Years ago we loved it here. The area is great but not this KOA!

Once we got to our site, connections were easy and we were set.

We were in #60 which seemed to be along the service road.

Always have a wonderful time here...but some of the campsites are very tight and you would need to wait for neighbors to leave in order to pull out.

Harpers Ferry is one of our favorites, especially in the fall.

Site was roo small. Sites need to be redesigned to accomodate larger rigs. We were in 115. There was a group of 25 across from us.they were playing loud music and shouting til beyond midnight. Why dont you follow the 10pm quiet time????

The views and history was very enjoyable. Only disappointment I had was people allowing their dogs to be off leash and run freely . It was an almost issue with my dog who had a leash.

Tented here for just over a week. I enjoyed every part of my stay. Facilities had everything I needed and the check-in/store staff was very friendly and helpful. Fyi, the tent pads are nice but will fit just your tent. If you have say an awning or an additional tent, the sites can be hit or miss to accommodate that. I got lucky and fit all my gear on my site. Would definitely come back.
