Campground Reviews

Love this KOA. Very friendly and relaxed. Great location. Kids activities were fun! A few strange things kept this from a 5 star review. Strange system of cabled looped through the trees and coiled on the ground by our camper. Very poor cable reception 1-2 channels were all that worked. Couldn't use dog park for my dogs as there were several at the cabin behind the dog park that objected.

Nice, small campground. Very quiet at night. Friendly office staff. Only wish they had more than one bathroom facility on site.

Great stay... But if you could turn the rain off next time, that'd be great... Lol! No fire but fortunately you make a good pizza. Thanks and see ya again soon.

Easy check in for an overnight stay while traveling north. If you are checking in past 8pm you will want to call ahead

The staff was excellent and friendly and while sites were not the most level and the layout seemed a little strange its overall a great place to stay while visiting and exploring Shenandoah!

Clean, quiet, friendly people and close enough to the mountains and Harrisonburg. Lots to see and do but most relaxing! This was our 2nd visit in 2 years and we'll definitely come back next year!

I absolutely loved this KOA! The staff was super nice and accommodating. The grounds were beautifully kept. The bathrooms were immaculate. You can tell the amount of care that is put in to this lovely campground. The Shenandoah Valley KOA far exceeded my expectations. We had such an enjoyable stay. Do yourself a favor and try the pies they sell at the office.

Very disappointing. Cable and WIFI did not work. Office did not seem to care. Bathhouse was dirty with bugs everywhere. Definitely not worth money paid.

Very nice, pleasant and helpful staff. Clean bathroom and showers. Stayed there about ten years ago, was an enjoyable stay then, as was this time. Love the area, plan on next visit to be sooner than another ten year wait. Beautiful campground.

It was very clean and nice place to stay. Only issue I had was not enough for kids to do, other than that I really like the campground. The spaces were nice and shaded and nicely taken care of. The restroom were nice and clean and the water pressure of the showers were awesome

Very Clean and the people were quite nice. They were trying to get the pool shocked, but they worked on it right away. It's a beautiful setting and out of the city. I liked the winding roads and the beautiful farm land out in the mountains. Don't miss kayaking on the Shenandoah River.

The staff is always friendly and the sites clean. We always enjoy our stays here. However, this time we were in site 37 and the cable was iffy and the WiFi non-existent. That was disappointing when the cost was $72/night. I hope they can fix that going forward.

Only 2 nights this time but a very quiet and serene spot. Accommodated our 41’ class A in a level pull through site with room to spare. We will return.

Pool was cloudy.

I tried to call and then sent an email asking to cancel 3 days prior to our stay but heard nothing from them. Our RV blew up and we had to fly home so couldn't stay. Wish we could have been credited the charge for a stay we couldn't use.

Couple major issues. First, there was no grill at the campsite (site 50). In the last 2 months, we've stayed at Gettysburg, Niagara Falls Grand Island, Hot Springs, and Pigeon Forge KOAs. All KOAs provided a grill, or integrated the grill with a firepit. Second, the playground was completely rusted and small. Third, our kids (5-9) who swim great were told to leave the pool area unless 12+.

Restrooms and showers are dirty. They need a thorough cleaning with a fire hose! The pool was filthy.

This KOA has a lovely serene location off I-81 and a well-stocked camp store. The check-in staff was very helpful. My only problem was that they had stopped serving/delivering pizza just before we pulled in. Dagnabbit!

The campground was well maintained and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a lot to do there for kids to keep them entertained. The sites were very close together and there was only one bathroom facility for the whole place. Many campers in tents would have a very far walk for a midnight calling. There are only 3 showers too. It was nice and we enjoyed our brief stay.

Of all the KOA locations we have stayed at across the US this location is number 1. The people are so friendly and the location in the woods but just off RT 81 is perfect. We will be back soon.

This is a pretty little campground that is clean, great for pets and very friendly. We highly recommend a stay here if you’re visiting Skyline Drive or JMU.

One night stay in our rv. Nice clean showers and bathrooms. Amenities seem really nice but it was too cold for us to use anything at this time.

We stopped at this campground for one night. We arrived late (9pm) due to traffic. We easily found our reservation on the board just inside the office door. It was on the bulletin board. Clear directions to our site. It had been snowing but we found our space had been plowed. Easily connected water and electric. We did not hook up our sewer and opted for the bathrooms instead. They were super clean, plenty of hot water and the room was warm. Unfortunately we never got to meet anyone since we arrived late and left early. I did get a chance to walk around the park with our dog. There were a few trailers on-site, a shed with chickens, cabins, rec area, disc golf etc. They even deliver pizza to your site during the regular season. We have decided we will visit this campground during a better season. You can tell the owners care a great deal about this campground

The staff was AMAZING and super friendly!! We went the week after Christmas and stayed after new years and we mostly had the place to ourselves with a handful of others campers. We started in site 15 but ended up moving to 56 which was super secluded facing the woods which is exactly what we were looking for. The sites that are crossed out are under construction starting this upcoming week. Bathroom are super clean along with the whole campground. They have a pond that you can fish out of and rent poles from the front desk, dog run/fenced in play area, family games available under pavilion and much more. Even one of the sites had a dog outdoor kennel between site 43 and 34. Campground is about 20-30 mins from skyline drive (you pay $30 for a weekly pass) where we hiked majority of the time. We also visited the Luray Caverns on a rainy day which was pretty cool. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will be back again if ever in the area!
