Campground Reviews

Unfortunately, we are here much longer than expected as our truck broke down and had to be towed. However, Delaine and Tim, work kampers at Harrisonburg KOA are wonderful people. They worked to find us a place to be, even though the campground is packed. They even offered to take up to get groceries after they got out of work. They are an asset to KOA and should be commended for their actions.

We only stayed one night at this KOA. The pull through site was a nice size and staff very friendly. The only concern came at 10:30 at night when two large motor coaches tried to back into their site. It was very dark and they had a lot of difficulty backing into sites. It was quiet time at 10:00pm but the loud noise continued for at least 45 mins.

This is an excellent campground. It is very clean and very well organized. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was amazing to see all the roads up the hill and yet the camping sites were very level. You all do a great job.

Nice site, friendly staff, clean facilities. We were not expecting the Shenandoah National Park entrance to be an hour from the campground, so there really wasn't much hiking nearby.

Our pull through RV site was perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable! It was pizza night and we actually had our pizza and Coke delivered right to our campsite! Kudos to your staff!! We will definitely stay at Harrisonburg/Shenandoah Valley KOA the next time we're in your area! Thank you.

We were not allowed to pick our site as they were assigned, but it was perfect. Our site was an end one, so we had total privacy on our door side. It was a small wooded area, with chickens visiting daily.

Nice location. Alot of rocks. No golfcarts is difficult for us folks that have knee issues. Lots of walking this past weekend and my knee is swollen up like a ballon and I am still quite young. Nice staff, especially Tim. Loved the big bonfire areas for each site.

This is a wonderful relaxing campground. Easy to get to from I81. The lots are wooded and there's plenty to do.

Quiet and clean. Coffee service in office a nice touch

Not too bad, campsite could have been a little more well kept. The restroom and shower needed remodeling. There could have been some trash cans spread out through out the camping areas as well. Not really complaining, just saying that these things would have made the stay a little more comfortable.

It was the nicest KOA I’ve seen and it was decorated so cute for Halloween

We have stayed at this KOA many times while our daughter attends JMU. Usually our stay is quite nice but this time had some concerns especially where the showers in the Men's Room are involved. None of the shower heads were all that operable, the middle shower wouldn't produce hot water and the shower on the right's door wouldn't lock. I don't ask for much but a KOA isn't a youth hostel.

We really enjoyed our stay at this KOA. Tim the camp host was awesome! My only complaint about this campground is the layout. Most campgrounds I've been to have the sites laid out all in the same direction on a roadway so the roads operate in a one-way fashion. This campground has opposing direction sites on the same small roadway that is only one lane wide. This made leaving a bit tricky.

Awesome stay, Tim and his wife took great care of us. Will be back!

Late arrival. NO WiFi, NO bathroom lights, NO hot water. Looked for circuit breaker inside, but couldn't find one. I left a message the next morning. The KOA guy came & flipped the switch outside. All was okay with the lights and water. Still NO WIFi in the cabin or porch. Complained more-got $46 credit and finally got WIFI at 9:10 pm on the 2nd night. NOT a good experience.

Campground could use an upgrade. Didn’t like site B12, uneven and fire pit close to tent. No grilling grate for fire pit. When I went to the store to ask a question the man seemed irritated that he had to speak with me. Usually love KOA, not this one.

One night stay in our rv. Nice clean showers and bathrooms. Amenities seem really nice but it was too cold for us to use anything at this time.

We stopped at this campground for one night. We arrived late (9pm) due to traffic. We easily found our reservation on the board just inside the office door. It was on the bulletin board. Clear directions to our site. It had been snowing but we found our space had been plowed. Easily connected water and electric. We did not hook up our sewer and opted for the bathrooms instead. They were super clean, plenty of hot water and the room was warm. Unfortunately we never got to meet anyone since we arrived late and left early. I did get a chance to walk around the park with our dog. There were a few trailers on-site, a shed with chickens, cabins, rec area, disc golf etc. They even deliver pizza to your site during the regular season. We have decided we will visit this campground during a better season. You can tell the owners care a great deal about this campground

The staff was AMAZING and super friendly!! We went the week after Christmas and stayed after new years and we mostly had the place to ourselves with a handful of others campers. We started in site 15 but ended up moving to 56 which was super secluded facing the woods which is exactly what we were looking for. The sites that are crossed out are under construction starting this upcoming week. Bathroom are super clean along with the whole campground. They have a pond that you can fish out of and rent poles from the front desk, dog run/fenced in play area, family games available under pavilion and much more. Even one of the sites had a dog outdoor kennel between site 43 and 34. Campground is about 20-30 mins from skyline drive (you pay $30 for a weekly pass) where we hiked majority of the time. We also visited the Luray Caverns on a rainy day which was pretty cool. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will be back again if ever in the area!
