At our above ground surface mines, you can search for the Herkimer Diamond Quartz Crystals that may be hiding right in front of you!
Herkimer Diamonds are beautiful double-terminated quartz crystals found in Herkimer, New York. Incredibly, these phenomenal gemstones are close to five hundred million years old. The crystals are magnificent works of nature, found in the rock, having a diamond-like geometrical shape.
Collection methods vary, but most folks like to break open rocks in search for these unique crystals hiding inside. Everything you find is yours to keep!
To Register for Mining, stop by "Village Hall" at Miners' Village. This is where you can purchase your wristband, and receive your equipment. Located right across the street from the campground!
