Emerald Bay State Park is located 12 miles north of South Lake Tahoe. Vehicles cannot drive down to the lake, however, there are many vistas and hiking trails.
The park is located 22 miles south of Tahoe City.
Vikingsholm can be reached by parking in the Harvey West parking lot by Highway 89 at Emerald Bay. Take the trail, which is one mile in length and drops 500 feet in elevation to the house.
Fannette Island is located in the bay on the west shore of Lake Tahoe.

Olympic Valley—is one of the largest ski areas in the United States and houses a popular landmark for Northern Tahoe, the 1960 Olympic Games. It all began in 1942, when two ski adventurists, Wayne Paulsen and Alex Cushing, began building Squaw Valley Ski Resort.
Washoe Meadows State Park consists of meadows and woodlands in the valley at the base of the escarpment leading to Echo Summit. The park was named for the Native Americans who inhabited the area for thousands of years. The park lands have not been developed. Dogs must be on leash in Ca State Parks. Our parks are highly impacted at this time - please lend a hand and help make them cleaner than you found them.

Bijou Bike Park is the best place in South Lake Tahoe to progress your mountain bike skills.
