This place was the nicest so far. The bathrooms were clean, tons of stuff to do there, great restaurants.

parking spots are very close together and was hard to pull in. You have to pull your tow vehicle either next to your camper in your relaxation area or in front, which blocks the road. It was impossible to pull out when it was time to leave due to all the vehicles blocking the area. I had to back out completely, which is dangerous when there are so many people around. Otherwise, Amazing!!!

Incredibly friendly staff, clean campgrounds, lots of activities for the kids… just wish WiFi worked better.

Perfect place to stay if you love moldy showers, disgusting pools, gross bathrooms and a campground that was packed elbow to elbow. Add to that the dogs barking and whining all night, what more could you ask for?

We have been coming to this KOA since the building was smaller & had a gas station on site. My husband commented on this last trip that it has almost become too successful. It is wonderful for families with lots of activities, & the lack of wifi (yes, I know they say there is wifi but there isn't) means kids are out playing. But a cabin I was promised was given away and the restrooms were dirty.

No showers. Asked front desk if they had showers and they said no. So if you are camping with no shower you get to just go rinse your dirty body off in pool Bikers coming in through the night. Reving engines. If you plan to tent camp or use a camper with no fan or AC that can maybe over power the sounds of bikers coming in (last ones I heard were at 1:45 am) then you might want to not stay here.

As always it was a great stay!

We can't say enough great things about our stay at KOA Mount Rushmore. The cleanliness, activities, facilities, landscape, scenery! All amazing! We had 4 families, 4 travel trailers, 13 kids - we never ran out of things to do for the 7 nights we stayed! The location is perfect for visiting nearby attractions; Mount Rushmore, Custer, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, etc. We highly recommend this campground!

Sites are way too close together. I barely had 10 feet between my camper door and the next camper.

It was great. Great facility and great staff!

Great location and bathrooms were very clean. Would stay again if visiting Mt. Rushmore. Made the night time drive back from the evening ceremonies very easy.

We were camping with our adult children and grandkids. The grandkids loved it. There was plenty to keep them busy right in camp. Very clean, great staff, located conveniently to see the sights in the Black Hills. We went for a trail ride. Free mini-golf, a climbing wall, swimming pool, you almost don't need to leave the campground to have fun. Definitely take the shuttle bus to see Mt. Rushmore.

Great facility an helpful staff. Truly a resort.

Lots to do Only thing was in men and women’s showers was that they were muddy and the shower curtains needed replacing badly as some of them were black on the bottom Otherwise everything else was awesome Great store with great employees

This is a great place for families. Tons of activities to keep everyone happy. Book, travel and enjoy!

This trip was our first time staying at a KOA campground. We stayed at the one in Sioux Falls, SD, the one at Devils Tower, WY, and this one at Palmer Gulch Mt. Rushmore. I would have to say, we were very impressed. The one at Palmer Gulch Mount Rushmore was probably the best campground we have ever stayed at hands down.

Sorry just one night

Our lot was too small. Our toy hauler was backed into a creek on a lot we could barely fit on. We couldn't open the rear door. There was no parking space for our vehicles. The kids couldn't swim because it was disgusting. Even tho a new pool facility is being built the old pool should have been maintained for guests. The nearest laundry facility was closed. Friendly employees.

WAY overpriced. Cable TV promised on web -- none provided. I missed the Olympics and was very upset. This after spending $80 a Night! Overall two terms come to mind: "Tourist Trap" and "Price Gouging". For example: over $4.00 for a half-gallon of milk, $6.95 for ONE slice of plain CHEESE pizza. Find another sucker -- I'm through with you!

The bathrooms were horrible. Considering how expensive it is to stay at this KOA you'd think the bathrooms would be better kept. We loved all there was to offer but not everything was operating. There also want really any place to go if during the frequent summer rain if you didn't have an RV.

Site 438 was very poorly designed. The power and water pedestal were on the wrong side of the campsite and basically in the space of the adjacent camp site. The fire pit and table were on a slope and on the wrong side of our trailer when we were backed in. The design of that site negatively affected our ability to enjoy our camping experience. I don’t ever want to be in that site again.

Space so small our trailer barely fit. Had to park truck on grass. Barely could open truck doors between our trailer and neighbors. Broken down picnic table. Outrageous resort fee. Laundry room dryer steals money. Limited food. Too jammed with too many people!

It was like summer camp! So many fun things to do. Great vibe.
Aug 09, 2021
Over crowded and noisy. OK it was Sturgis week. But many sites had a motor home, 2 pick ups, and a toy hauler. Getting in and out was difficult!

our cabin was dirty, dirt, crumbs and food on floor and smelled like smoke. our nieghbor was also smoking. our son has ashma and this was really not ideal. The bathrooms had mold and yuck all over the walls and our daughter cut her foot on the shower ;( to top it off the wifi didnt work at all, literally not at all, when we asked front desk about it they laughed nd said yes not great service.

campsite is too tight, too crowed and too expansive.
Aug 09, 2021
It was wonderful! The kids were entertained the entire time… and although it was busy, it felt very safe.

I’d like to give this 5 stars, but a few things cause me to give it a 3. 1) Our firepit was not level so we could not cook on it, and there are not grills on the sites so firepit cooking was our only option for outdoor cooking. 2) the laundry facility closest to our site and pool bathrooms were “closed for the season” … when the campground is completely booked, I’d assume we’re “i

Only 3 things to talk about - (1) Main entry laundry facility has very small washers and dryers that do not dry very well. (2) Quiet time hours are not enforced AT ALL. (3) There were NO fish in the fishing pond.
Aug 09, 2021
There are so many activities we had a blast.

No WiFi, no cable, and no way to do laundry. They have laundry facilities, but they are closed. This is by far the worst KOA we have stayed at. We are members and have stayed at many. The sites are packed in and are washed out by water and not level. Very low water pressure. We expect more from a KOA especially when you pay a premium price. The only good thing is the location.

Great staff, was able to change reservations on the fly to allow full hookups from just water/electric. Recommend this campground to any traveler due to fact that they offer so much for kids and adults alike

We stayed in a Deluxe KOA Cabin. Perfect amount of space, beautiful scenery, love all of the kids activities. Amazing place for family get away!

The only complaint we had was with the camper next to us with a dog. Let the dog go to the bathroom and did not pick up after it. Excessive barking. Maybe keep a few spots for non pet owners together.
Aug 08, 2021
Our tow vehicle and 5th wheel did not fit well in site. Second vehicle parked close by. Site was way too small. Neighbor’s black tank line was basically under our patio’a swing. Shower facilities were nice. Fun zone could use more spacing or different spacing between activities; other game balls interrupted our games pretty often. Lots of options for fun but too crowded to relax all the

Kids Enjoyed mini golf, the pool and hot tub, the activities, cart rentals. We used the laundry, showers. Would have liked the restaurant to be open. Staff was friendly and helpful. We saw all the sights of the area. Good trip!

The staff at the bike rental & ATV could have been friendlier. The bathroom was very clean & smelled fresh. We we're disappointed that when we called before we came no one would ever answer the phone, to answer some questions to prepare for a stay there.

Everything was great and the staff was friendly. My only complaint is the lack of wifi on most of the property. They say their is Wifi on the property but it is essentially unusable except next to the general store. A larger pool is much needed but I think they are doing one.

Very busy but it was Sturgis just following our stay. If you like side by sides, motorcycles, and golf carts all over the place this is the place for you! We were not expecting this much activity. Lots of things for the kids, but kids were everywhere. Pool and hot tub were crowded. Very nice fishing pond. If you are looking for a quiet camping experience this is not for you.

Really impressed with all the amenities. The shower house we used is the nicest I've been to.

We dry docked for the night since they are closed for the season. This KOA is very beautiful with deer coming right up to the front door.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nites, and it was Phenomenal. A beautiful Resort atmosphere and even though it was at the very end of the season, every one there was very helpful and especially Becky. She is so knowledgeable about the area. I worked for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and I would hire here in a heartbeat to work with. KOA is very fortunate to have employees of this caliber.

This KOA is in a perfect location and would love to stay here again. We rented a glammed cabin which is just a upgrade from their simple cabins but well worth it in my opinion. Your cabin already comes with bedding, a mini fridge, microwave, outdoor grill and table and chairs. You have a beautiful view of the woods and the campground itself has so many activities. You're right in the middle of the black forest, custer state park and Mt Rushmore. I will definitely be staying there again.
