We stayed in a well appointed Deluxe Cabin. The campground provides a variety of accommodation, activities, shopping and eating options. Very clean and well maintained grounds and shower/toilet facilities. BEST campground we have ever stayed at. We'll be back!

We stayed at the Mount Rushmore KOA for 3 days and the during that time the restrooms and showers were never cleaned. There was mud in them everywhere. Also the door to our cabin was falling apart. We've stayed at many KOAs and would likely not recommend this one as our favorite.

Our cabin was clean and comfortable. We visited in late September and were glad we had warm blankets! So handy to all the sites we wanted to see so that was a plus also. Office staff was friendly and helpful. The “snack shack” was a convenient feature but could use a good freshening up. Supply chain issues likely contributed to menu shortages. We would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was great and the staff was friendly. The only downside is that the resort closed the only bathroom close to our cabin on the first day with no warning. The other set of bathrooms was a long ways away and frankly they were dirty. The bathrooms is the reason for my 4 star rating.

The Mt. Rushmore KOA offers many on-site activities - especially for the kids, supplies, and food service/restaurants. It is centrally located, allowing easy access to Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Keystone & Hill City. Additionally, the resort has numerous types (cabins, RV, tents) of accommodations - meeting every need you may have.

Clean with wifi. Great location. Glad to see the single burner cooktop. Handy for breakfast or any other light cooking. Really appreciated that.

The mattresses at our cabin were super super thin and uncomfortable. We came after “the season,” but it was still nice out, so it was disappointing to not be able to rent the bikes and other things. A/C is 100% needed. The cabin was stifling until after midnight, but with kids, bedtime is earlier. That said, the employees here were so genuinely kind and friendly, and we did have a good time.

Nicely run KOA. Stayed in a cabin which was clean and comfortable. Wifi was sketchy and not able for using cellular in an emergency. Thank you for releasing a direct number to me for family to get me. Luckily wasn’t needed. Only downside was the showers. Shower heads used either were leaky and poor flow or needed a bad cleaning from algae growing around spray outlets.

I was disappointed that u advertised some many activities and things to do. It turned out most of those were closed for the season. U should let people know that and charge accordingly- not full price. Tim Conroy

No bathrooms in cabin area,no steps, only the road for walking, most shops not open , no pool, late opening at lodge- 8am, yet we still had to pay full rates

What a disappointment! At check in there was a line of 10 with 2 employees helping while 3 others stood behind them just talking. We checked into our cabin & had no power - got that fixed. The toilets & showers were only cleaned once during our 5 day stay & that happened when we complained. They were disgusting. The campground was dirty & messy & staff didn’t seem to care. Please fix this!

Very excellent campus! Lots of activities, though, mostly closed/unavailable after labor day. Bathrooms and kitchen area are a bit of a hike from the tent sites and cabins.

Garbage in grass, noisy construction in morning, lack of WiFi and cell service. Limited to no perks after Labor Day.

Had to repair many things in our cabin with loft, bath, & kitchen. Cabinet door below the stove kept falling off the hinge, & we had to repeatedly repair the screw. The knobs on the stovetop burners fell off with every use, & it was very difficult to tell if the burners were off. A major fire & safety hazard. The front door was extremely difficult to lock & unlock with the key, or from the inside.

Biggest issue was lack of cell phone use while in campground. This became a huge issue when a major hailstorm hit and every vehicle in the campground suffered damage. My brother also staying there, had limited cell usage, so I was able to call insurance company for assistance - however cell reception was terrible and very hard to communicate. Since car was disabled - this was a big problem.

We loved the campground during our first visit 7 years ago. This time, our cabin was situated on a hill with a front porch view of the RV dumping station, which was literally right in our “front yard.” We had to climb down the hill to go to the bathroom, through the RV full hook up sites. The lack of bathroom near the pool and the number of small children swimming was also unsettling.

My biggest complaint was the service at Grapes and Grinds. There was some sort of delay on Saturday morning. I waited patiently outside for an hour after being told by 2 staff that it would be about 10 mins. Honesty and updates go a long ways-the many waiting guests didnt get that. We also stayed in the deluxe loft cabin. There should be a better list online on what’s included-like needing Kcups

The cabin was a great place to stay, good amount of space for 4 and the amenities available for fun were top notch. My only gripe would be that the bedding did not appear fresh and the pillows were lumpy.

SUPER DISAPPOINTED! Stayed here for our 10 Year wedding anniversary. DONT STAY IN NUMBER 202. Kitchen sink drips constantly, broken window wands, dirty blinds, filthy window frames, the front door had a 1 1/2 gap under it. We paid $350 + per night and this is what we got. I think you pay for the scenery. We should of had a clean room and it should of been maintained for that kind of money.

The bathrooms were unclean. They stated that regular periodic cleanings were occurring during the day, but we didn't see that to be the case at two different bathrooms. The showers were disgusting and shower curtains ripped and mildewed.

Enjoyed the water slide (when it was working), pool, splash pad, playground. Beautiful area. Clean and well kept. Great cabin. Would appreciate more and better quality activities.

This is probably the best place to stay while on vacation in South Dakota your in the middle of everything. Especially if your traveling with children we never heard "I'm bored" out our children the entire time. ����������

We dry docked for the night since they are closed for the season. This KOA is very beautiful with deer coming right up to the front door.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nites, and it was Phenomenal. A beautiful Resort atmosphere and even though it was at the very end of the season, every one there was very helpful and especially Becky. She is so knowledgeable about the area. I worked for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and I would hire here in a heartbeat to work with. KOA is very fortunate to have employees of this caliber.

This KOA is in a perfect location and would love to stay here again. We rented a glammed cabin which is just a upgrade from their simple cabins but well worth it in my opinion. Your cabin already comes with bedding, a mini fridge, microwave, outdoor grill and table and chairs. You have a beautiful view of the woods and the campground itself has so many activities. You're right in the middle of the black forest, custer state park and Mt Rushmore. I will definitely be staying there again.
