We stayed in the tent camping sites. Our site was very nice, on the edge of a hill overlooking the campground. Didn't feel like we were "glamping," which was great! Only gripe was that our site was very difficult to find when we arrived in the dark - our fault - (the signs for the tent sites are very small and easy to miss, especially in a pitch black, SD night).

Overall, was a good stay. Didn't like how far the bathrooms were from the campsites. Also didn't like not being informed before arriving that because of when we were there it was a skeleton crew and wouldn't have access to all the amenities.

Loved loved loved the setting of the trailer and campgrounds staff was above and beyond friendly but y'all never clean the restrooms the entire week I was there two toilets had dookie stains the entire week I was there. All in all I was quite pleased and thoroughly enjoyed myself. PS:. You may state that you have Wi-Fi but you do not why lie when you can tell the truth.

Bathrooms were filthy and broken. Showers needed to be power washed. Full of mud. Lobby was nice. Laundry facilities should give 10 min for .25 cents

This camps site was more than expected. The facilities were beautiful and Very well-maintained. There was a wide variety of activities, foods, and services with everything that we needed. The outdoor kitchen was a hidden gem. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.

Staff not overly friendly. Restrooms not cleaned very well, one sink had the same piece of paper in it the entire 4 days. Showers need new curtains that fit the size of opening with no gaps. need to provide walk path from tent site area to restrooms/shower in R?V area long walk to go around RV parking rows without cutting thru. Overall we had a good stay but some minor things need to be addressed.

Stayed in a tent for 2 nights. It was several blocks to walk to the restroom and showers from the tent campimg area. I noticed that the Class A's with showers and toilets were all around the restrooms. It is a good place to camp but a port-a-potty in the tent area would be appreciated.

very nice campground!

It was truly amazing!!! We plan on coming back next year!!!

Lots of great amenities that were not open during our stay. Our camp site was nice and quiet. Our night was interrupted by very strong wind gusts that took the rain tarp off our tent. Make sure your tent is well secured.

Great tent spot, firewood, showers, towels, pizza & ice cream, awesome outdoor games, friendly and helpful staff. Thanks so much!

No clean bathrooms. One day i went to shower. Inside the room for shower on the bench. There was a yellow brochure and used napkins. I went the next day. 24 hours later Same garbage was there.

i have pros and cons here they are: pros: tent site nice, good view, registration and store and staff friendly. any needs readily available. perfect location near all attractions. cons: my big complaint is showers are not kept up! both clenliness and maintainence lacking terribly. i stayed 4 days and never had a clean stall to shower, and the shower heads were all shot,

I am a tent camper.. possibly not your main concern.. as the big RV's probably bring in the money. However I stayed at 3 KOA's on my last trip and the other two were great. This one was terrible for tent camping.. the sites were up on a hill the nearest toilet was closed.. and even that was a bit far. Terrible if you had to get up in the middle of the night and walk your kid to a restroom

We are tent campers. The first night we were placed on a hillside ( site 263). Going to the bathrooms required going down a steep path to the road. A long walk at 2am. Upon request we were relocated to site 84 which was a nice grassy site closer to bathrooms and showers. In general it appears those facilities are most distant for renters the ones who need them the most

Showers were disgusting and water was luke warm at best. Pancake breakfast was good

We had the absolute best time tent camping at the KOA at Palmer Gulch! Hoping to make it a yearly trip.

I was pretty bummed out when I saw our tent site (608). We had a party of 7 and had been assured Thursday we would get a bigger site. The 2 sites flanking us with 2 people each we way bigger. 607 was kind enough to allow us to set up a tent on the back end of theirs since they had a camper van. I did request a move the next day and it was granted. The bathroom showers at the area are very dirty

Very clean camp sight! Convenient access to basic camping supplies such as firewood in the main shop! Not as secluded as a normal tent campsites but has great amenities! The rodeo was a nice addition to our trip as well!

EXTREMELY over priced tent sight, literally right in front of a cabin. The porch light shined right in tent ALL night long. Not to mention ALL the sites were right on top of each other, so close you could hear the people in the next site breathing!! 3/4 of the amenities closed early in the day. And the bathroom accessibility was atrocious!! Just loved hearing people pee beside my tent...NOT

Wish the comfort stations were easier to get to from our campsite. More walking trails instead of going around everyone’s campsites on the roads. When you have a 5 year old that needs to GO! It is very frustrating having to walk all the way around and down from the campsite.

Great KOA! Lots to do and great location!

We thought the shower curtains could be changed once a week to make it look much better otherwise the bath house was fine.

The resort was huge! I mean that in a good way- it offered so many activities for the children, the pools, waterslides and so on. However the bathrooms could have been cleaner and the campground itself felt very crowded. I would recommend to friends but let them know what to expect. I have never stayed a KOA resort before, however I have stayed in many KOA campsites. Again, wish the bathrooms

Beautiful Campground, good general store. We liked the rodeo and the group that played. As we were tent camping though, we found some of our bare necessities were not met. The biggest was the bathroom. It was too far away from the only tent camping area and there were too few of them for how many people. Absolutely disgusting, both the shower and toilet parts. It really cramped our stay there

We stayed at a deluxe tent site. Restroom, camping kitchen etc very convenient. Clean campground with huge variety of activities. Great place for families! Beautiful landscaping.
Aug 29, 2021
Plenty of things to do in camp but also close to the tourist stuff near by. Clean restrooms. Foods a little pricey but that's to be expected

We had a good stay at the campground we stayed primitive and it was a great time. Clean showers bathrooms and plenty of stuff to do

We loved it, it was our first time staying at Palmers Gulch. There was so much to do. We’re already talking about another trip for next year.

Loved it! Great place to stay, bathrooms were very clean, lots of fun things to do!

Beautiful scenery, so many fun activities for the kids to do, lots of areas to discover and play. Clean and friendly environment.

But shower room was not clean
Aug 19, 2021
The staff was friendly and helpful. There were lots of activities available. I look forward to my next visit.

Koa had so much to offer from a water park, pool, atv rentals, bike rentals, horses, and fishing. The only things I had a complain about was the shower walls and curtain were dirty, the baby pool walls were stained so it looked dirty, and the bathrooms were dusty. I know some things are harder to clean with so many people there so its not to much of a big deal.
Aug 18, 2021
I thought your facility is much better than any other KOA I have stayed at so far. Many activities and superior selection of stores and food options. Thanks.
Aug 17, 2021
LOVED this resort, but would love if there could be a fly bags or something around the mini town area
Aug 16, 2021
The campground had a lot to offer, however the bathrooms and other parts of the facility weren't very clean.

This is the Disneyland of KOA’s in that it’s great for families who are trying to keep kids entertained. Horrible for camping, you should just stay in the state park. NO WiFi, NO cell service. The cleaning staff were very nice but overworked. The reception staff always look at you like you are speaking Martian. The water is a weird orange color and it smells chlorinated. Never Coming back here

Definitely recommend! The kids and I had our first camping experience here-tenting. Perfect spot with trees so it felt outdoorsy but yet had clean facilities just a walk away. Picnic table and fire pit were nice. So many things to do here as well. Close to monument. Overall perfect place to stay! Will definitely be back! Also note the staff are super friendly and helpful :)

We dry docked for the night since they are closed for the season. This KOA is very beautiful with deer coming right up to the front door.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nites, and it was Phenomenal. A beautiful Resort atmosphere and even though it was at the very end of the season, every one there was very helpful and especially Becky. She is so knowledgeable about the area. I worked for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and I would hire here in a heartbeat to work with. KOA is very fortunate to have employees of this caliber.

This KOA is in a perfect location and would love to stay here again. We rented a glammed cabin which is just a upgrade from their simple cabins but well worth it in my opinion. Your cabin already comes with bedding, a mini fridge, microwave, outdoor grill and table and chairs. You have a beautiful view of the woods and the campground itself has so many activities. You're right in the middle of the black forest, custer state park and Mt Rushmore. I will definitely be staying there again.
