Stay was good, pools definitely need cleaning. There was tons of bugs swimming in it

KOA has lots of activities if you have children. We did not have cable hook up at our site. After contacting the front desk, I was told only patio sites had cable. This would have been nice to know when I was booking the site. Cable is listed in the amenities and does not specify that only patio sites have cable.

The guys who run the UTV business were NOT very customer friendly. Other than that the stay was good.

We had our personal heater break on night one and the KOA staff were extremely helpful in finding one to borrow and the return of it was so easy! There were KOA workers all over so whenever we needed help or had questions, was easy to find someone. We really loved this KOA! One thing we wished was the WiFi was better. Only works right next to main office and no calls can actually be made on it.

Absolutely thrilled with stay. Staff were extremely helpful when we had a rv problem and they were so friendly it was an amazing thrip due to a great campground!

Everything was great except the pool was the coldest pool we have ever been in. The hottub was dirty and the kids pool was all brown and rusty. The pools need a lot of work and a working heater to be able to enjoy it.

It was very clean and a lot of activities for kids. Just wish there was more room, we were very packed in.

Very clean camp sight! Convenient access to basic camping supplies such as firewood in the main shop! Not as secluded as a normal tent campsites but has great amenities! The rodeo was a nice addition to our trip as well!

We stayed over Labor Day wknd 2021. The location in the Black Hills is a beautiful short easy drive to Mt. Rushmore. Only complaint was the bathroom facilities. One of the shower houses was "out of comission" due to construction project, leaving one for MANY people. The showers weren't very clean and shower curtain had brown slime on it. I realize it was a busy wkend, but needs more attention.

EXTREMELY over priced tent sight, literally right in front of a cabin. The porch light shined right in tent ALL night long. Not to mention ALL the sites were right on top of each other, so close you could hear the people in the next site breathing!! 3/4 of the amenities closed early in the day. And the bathroom accessibility was atrocious!! Just loved hearing people pee beside my tent...NOT

My biggest complaint was the service at Grapes and Grinds. There was some sort of delay on Saturday morning. I waited patiently outside for an hour after being told by 2 staff that it would be about 10 mins. Honesty and updates go a long ways-the many waiting guests didnt get that. We also stayed in the deluxe loft cabin. There should be a better list online on what’s included-like needing Kcups

The cabin was a great place to stay, good amount of space for 4 and the amenities available for fun were top notch. My only gripe would be that the bedding did not appear fresh and the pillows were lumpy.

Need to have rock to park on and not a mud pit

If you prefer a very crowded noisy campground (lots of kids, dogs, golf carts, bicycles, ATVs) with filthy stinking bathrooms to include showers that have moldy curtains and a trickle of tepid water… this is the “resort” for you!!! You can also enjoy smelling horse crap while sitting outside the dining facility drinking coffee or eating ice cream! But the camp store is well-stocked and cle

I really like that Park and all the activities it had live music activities for kids I would go again

Wish the comfort stations were easier to get to from our campsite. More walking trails instead of going around everyone’s campsites on the roads. When you have a 5 year old that needs to GO! It is very frustrating having to walk all the way around and down from the campsite.

Highly enjoyed the resort and all that was available to do. Our only negative comment is the lack of WiFi availability onsite. Other than that, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

great place but we were unable to get cell where we were and WIFI was poor there too

It was great except for our site. I requested a the largest pull through site. We received a none too easy to maneuver site. Our fire pit was almost on the road, in the mud! Way too many sites for my liking, very difficult to see if you come in at night like we did and we’re given the wrong directions. If you like crowds and a to of vehicles, including golf carts/ 4 wheelers zooming by

Lot 10 was perfect for tent camping or camping with a small trailer. We really appreciated the 25' depth and the privacy that the position afforded. The children all enjoyed the twice daily running of the horses in the morning and evening with the Wranglers yipping to keep them running. The staff was fantastic, and the facilities were clean. Thank you.

It was great place.. If only we had wifi and internet. We enjoy watching TV in the evening. And being able to call family. Hope they fix that issue.

This is the worst KOA I have ever stayed in - filthy campground, filthy showers, moldy shower curtains, non-working toilets, filthy bathrooms, campsites on top of one another, loud parties until 1:30 in the morning (no security to stop them), horse stables next to food places (stinks so you can't sit outside and enjoy your food) - Do not go there - horrible visit.

The only impressive things about this KOA is its entrance & friendly service at check in. It is a very big facility, and very close to attractions but the WiFi is pretty much nil as is cell service so during on-site time our entertainment was the devastating hail storm/damages. Would not recommend if you want to maintain contact with the outside world or have tv programming. Great place for kids.

There are a lot of positive aspects of this campground. My issue is with the WiFi. When I am spending as much as it costs( including a resort fee), the WiFi should be better. There are a lot of campers. So, the service needs to be improved.

This campground is the best. We enjoyed watching and listening to all the young families having fun together. So many things to do. We will be back!

Enjoyed our stay at Palmer Gultch KOA. Centrally located to several local sites & towns. Also many activities and amenities at the park. Did not like the WiFi reception at all. In this day & age, that should be a critica service to privide. Our stay was well before Labor Day, but many many of the park amenities like the Chuck Wagon meals & restaurant were not available.

Bathroom was sabatoged on daily basis by teenagers. Too many people and sites too close. Due to my own ignorance I didn’t know the dif levels of KOAs. Paid more for a resort for the worst stay ever. No kids, so never will we camp at a resort kOA again.

Cabins are nothing special for quite a bit of money. Staff was nice and lots of fun stuff to do

Loved our camping area. The resort was beautiful. Conveniently located near Mt. Rushmore. Would highly recommend!

In the section where we stayed, the sites were too short and too close together. It rained and there were muddy ruts that never went away in 5 days. To reach the area where we were, it was necessary to drag our fifth wheel up hills with turns and twists. The other side of the park looked better. We would make certain to have a premium site before staying there again.

This is an annual favorite camping trip. Kids love the slide and play area, entertainment was amazing. Even the damaging hail didnt put a damper on things. Excellent as always.

We dry docked for the night since they are closed for the season. This KOA is very beautiful with deer coming right up to the front door.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nites, and it was Phenomenal. A beautiful Resort atmosphere and even though it was at the very end of the season, every one there was very helpful and especially Becky. She is so knowledgeable about the area. I worked for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and I would hire here in a heartbeat to work with. KOA is very fortunate to have employees of this caliber.

This KOA is in a perfect location and would love to stay here again. We rented a glammed cabin which is just a upgrade from their simple cabins but well worth it in my opinion. Your cabin already comes with bedding, a mini fridge, microwave, outdoor grill and table and chairs. You have a beautiful view of the woods and the campground itself has so many activities. You're right in the middle of the black forest, custer state park and Mt Rushmore. I will definitely be staying there again.
