It was great. But! If you close a bathroom get porta potties. These was a lot of folks waiting to use the bathroom.

Everything was fabulous as usual except the bathrooms. The shower floors were always full of mucky water and the molding and tiles are old and cracked and need to be replaced. Staff was very nice.

The stay was great! We had a wonderful time. The only complaint we have was that our bathrooms needed more attention. The bathrooms closest to our site were also the ones for the pool and activity area. Many times the men’s toilets were clogged and out of toilet paper. The floors were dirty and overall smelled like they needed to be cleaned. Otherwise, everything else was great!

Wonderful stay at the palmer gulch KOA. There were so many amenities and things for the kids to do. We will be back!

You don't even give me enough room to leave all my comments, so let's just say I was not happy with the campground at all.If you would like to call me and get live feedback .

amentites: kids paradise, centrally located for attractions, very busy place for a reason. If pool would have been warmer, adults could reclaim hot tub. bathrooms are heavily used but found them cleaned regularly. If wi-fi would have constantly worked it would have given 5 stars

Internet wifi connection didn't work so well, but the KOA Palmrer Gulch Resort is a great place for a family especially for pre-teen kids. Lots of interesting wholesome activities on site, besides the multitude of activities available in the greater Mt Rushmore area, including the Badlands. We were impressed with the politeness of the kids (campers) at the waterslide, respectful, happy kids.

Clean, friendly, lots of activities available

We stayed in a 1 room camper cabin. We are a large family of 7. I was a little disappointed we were placed in a cabin pretty far away from all the activities and even the bathroom. The site had very limited space, which was frustrating. We seen several cabins that were open closer to activities and bathrooms, that were not even in use. It would be nice to actually have the option of choosingcabin.

Everything was amazing! Kids loved dance parties at night and Rick wall!

My family has stayed at the Palmer Gulch KOA many times, but this trip was just for my son and me as a HS graduation Dad/Son trip for him. We spent part of a week biking on the Mickelson trail and the KOA was a welcome site after each of those long days in the saddle. Your campground has been a favorite of ours for over 20 years and I'm confident it will be for at least 20 more. Thanks!

Perfect place to stay if you love moldy showers, disgusting pools, gross bathrooms and a campground that was packed elbow to elbow. Add to that the dogs barking and whining all night, what more could you ask for?

We have been coming to this KOA since the building was smaller & had a gas station on site. My husband commented on this last trip that it has almost become too successful. It is wonderful for families with lots of activities, & the lack of wifi (yes, I know they say there is wifi but there isn't) means kids are out playing. But a cabin I was promised was given away and the restrooms were dirty.

our cabin was dirty, dirt, crumbs and food on floor and smelled like smoke. our nieghbor was also smoking. our son has ashma and this was really not ideal. The bathrooms had mold and yuck all over the walls and our daughter cut her foot on the shower ;( to top it off the wifi didnt work at all, literally not at all, when we asked front desk about it they laughed nd said yes not great service.

It was wonderful! The kids were entertained the entire time… and although it was busy, it felt very safe.

There are so many activities we had a blast.

We stayed in a Deluxe KOA Cabin. Perfect amount of space, beautiful scenery, love all of the kids activities. Amazing place for family get away!

Great value and amenities. Updating the comfort station #3 is a must. Very moldy in comparison with others!

We enjoyed our stay very much. This KOA is in a very good spot, open for couples or families looking to “get away from the city”. Very close to the city of Custer as well.

We loved being in the Black Hills. Employees helpful, bathrooms very clean. Palmer Gulch is our favorite KOA!

Nice place to tent camp and they have plenty cabins
Aug 06, 2021
There were no sheets in our cabin, the pans were dirty & the grill utensils were dirty. The pamphlet they gave us had no inserts. We had to go back to the office 3 times for things we needed. Neighbors & their kids were drunk & loud. We liked staying there but had a few complaints.
Aug 06, 2021
The bathroom by the pool was filthy. The toilet was backed up. Floor was dirty.

For the amount of campers sharing this KOA, it was really clean. There was plenty to do. Highly recommend the horseback riding to a dutch oven dinner. Yum!
Aug 04, 2021
There are lots of fun activities available for kids. Horseback riding was great! Early morning walls around camp were beautiful! Please consider ceiling fans for cabins and Tilex for showers.

Location was perfect and so were the campground amenities! Our deluxe cabin had the space but was lacking on general supplies and cleanliness. Overall I would recommend however pack a few extra supplies!

We dry docked for the night since they are closed for the season. This KOA is very beautiful with deer coming right up to the front door.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nites, and it was Phenomenal. A beautiful Resort atmosphere and even though it was at the very end of the season, every one there was very helpful and especially Becky. She is so knowledgeable about the area. I worked for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and I would hire here in a heartbeat to work with. KOA is very fortunate to have employees of this caliber.

This KOA is in a perfect location and would love to stay here again. We rented a glammed cabin which is just a upgrade from their simple cabins but well worth it in my opinion. Your cabin already comes with bedding, a mini fridge, microwave, outdoor grill and table and chairs. You have a beautiful view of the woods and the campground itself has so many activities. You're right in the middle of the black forest, custer state park and Mt Rushmore. I will definitely be staying there again.
