No matter when you visit Nashville KOA Resort, you can expect some great campground activities and plenty of live music.  We offer these events on most weekends in the Summertime, though the activities may vary slightly for holidays or special events. Be sure to check out our schedule of Themed Weekends for even more camping fun!

Conveniently for our campers, you won't have to go all the way to a honky tonk. The Nashville KOA Resort hosts over 250 live music performances each year! While the band line up varies, you can expect a schedule similar to this on most weeks:

An American Story offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience the celebrated Cowan Collection outside its longtime home at the Parthenon for the first time in nearly four decades. Originally gifted to the city by James M. Cowan nearly a century ago, the exhibition highlights a defining era in American art and the artists who helped shape a distinctly national artistic identity.Featuring works by fifty-seven painters connected through shared artistic training and collaboration, the exhibition explores the evolution of American painting at the turn of the twentieth century. At its core are expansive landscapes and luminous plein-air works that celebrate the diverse beauty of the American environment—from pastoral countryside scenes to dramatic coastlines and forests.Complemented by an intimate selection of portraits, the collection reflects Cowan's deeply personal vision and his belief that art could capture the spirit, character, and aspirations of America itself. Cheekwood Summer Trains Spectacular: America the Beautiful transforms the grounds of Cheekwood Estate & Gardensinto a miniature journey across the United States, celebrating America's 250th birthday with an immersive, handcrafted display of iconic landmarks and landscapes.This special traveling exhibition, created by Applied Imagination and installed in the Bradford Robertson Color Garden, features 10 running trains, more than 850 feet of track, and 25 recognizable American landmarks. Visitors can travel in miniature from the Statue of Liberty to the Great Smoky Mountains and onward to the Golden Gate Bridge, experiencing a detailed tribute to the nation's geography and history.Each structure in the display is meticulously crafted from natural materials such as willow branches, cedar, moss, pinecones, bark, and acorn caps, creating intricate botanical models that highlight both artistry and craftsmanship.The exhibition is presented for a limited time alongside Cheekwood's year-round TRAINS! exhibit, offering visitors an expanded experience of model railroading and seasonal garden artistry within one of Nashville's most scenic cultural destinations.

Anila Quayyum Agha Retrospective showcases the extraordinary work of internationally acclaimed artist Anila Quayyum Agha, whose immersive installations transform light, pattern, and geometry into deeply emotional and thought-provoking experiences. Presented as the final stop of a nationally touring mid-career retrospective at the Frist Art Museum, the exhibition spans two decades of Agha's artistic practice.Born in Lahore, Pakistan, and now based in Indianapolis, Agha draws upon her experiences as a woman and immigrant navigating discrimination, invisibility, and oppression. Her work also addresses environmental destruction and global inequality while incorporating influences from Indo-Islamic architecture, poetry, traditional craft techniques, and the California Light and Space Movement.The exhibition features both intimate mixed-media works and the artist's celebrated large-scale light installations. Highlights include A Flood of Tears, a striking suspended sculpture composed of hundreds of upholstery needles and shimmering glass-beaded strands, and All the Flowers Are for Me (Red), one of Agha's signature laser-cut steel light boxes that envelop viewers in intricate shadows and radiant color.Through the use of beads, embroidery, printmaking, dyes, Mylar, wax, steel dust, and textiles, Agha creates ornate and mesmerizing works that blend beauty with urgent social commentary. International Surrealism from Tate: Fifty Years of Dreams presents a fascinating exploration of surrealism's global influence and enduring legacy through an extraordinary collection of paintings, photographs, sculptures, publications, and archival materials drawn from the collection of Tate.Presented nearly a century after the first surrealist exhibition in Paris in 1925, the exhibition traces surrealism not simply as an artistic style, but as a powerful state of mind shaped by imagination, dreams, freedom, and experimentation. Inspired by foundational texts such as André Breton's Manifesto of Surrealism and Louis Aragon's A Wave of Dreams, the exhibition highlights both iconic and underrecognized artists from around the world.Featured artists include Jean Arp, Salvador Dalí, Max Ernst, René Magritte, Joan Miró, Yves Tanguy, and Dorothea Tanning alongside artists whose contributions are increasingly gaining recognition, including Kati Horna, Malangatana Ngwenya, Osamu Shiihara, and Lionel Wendt.Organized around themes such as dreams, automatism, desire, nature's mysterious energies, and political freedom, the exhibition reveals how surrealism evolved through deeply personal and culturally diverse artistic responses across continents and generations.

Thursday Night Out Concert Series is a ticketed weekly live music experience held on the Arboretum Lawn at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens, offering a relaxed summer evening of music, food, and drinks in a scenic garden setting.Guests can enjoy a diverse lineup of live performers while sampling seasonal beers, specialty cocktails, and popular local food trucks, along with offerings from Perenn at Cheekwood. The event pairs outdoor concerts with access to Cheekwood's expansive gardens and rotating exhibitions, including America the Beautiful: National Parks & Landmarks by Rail, creating a blend of art, nature, and entertainment.Because these concerts are popular, advance timed-entry tickets are required for all guests. Parking capacity may be limited during busy evenings, and walk-up entry is typically only available for visitors arriving via rideshare once parking fills. A Sensory-Friendly Evening invites families to enjoy an inclusive and engaging evening at Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. Designed for guests of all ages and abilities, the event features sensory-friendly tours, hands-on crafts, games, and interactive activities across the historic estate.Families can explore themed activity stations throughout the grounds, including frontier games in the Doll House, artifact exploration and optical illusion activities in the Stables, creative crafts and reading spaces in the Carriage House, and a calming Sensory Room in the Garden Cottage complete with fidget toys, coloring pages, and quiet activities.The event also includes a community partner tent featuring sensory-friendly programming and resources from organizations such as the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, and Therapy ARC dog therapy.
