They were closing down for the season in a few weeks, so there wasn't anyone in the office. If you needed ice or supplies, you had to go out for it. We were only staying a few days so we didn't want to disconnect our tow vehicle.

I really enjoyed my time with the Onawa/Blue Lake KOA. The owners and their staff were very helpful and professional in every way. The campgrounds are well kept and clean. I will return and would recommend it to all my friends.

Great place to stay for a long period of time or a just a overnight stay. Accommodations are plentiful. Pool is nice and WOW the upgraded playground is phenomenal!!!!! Plenty of good fishing on the nearby lake and the campground is well maintained with a lot of shade. Family oriented campground . Owners/staff very nice.

We love this campground! It is very clean, everything works, beautiful views, manicured lots. We have stayed multiple times and will continue to do so. I love that they have a little store onsite and will deliver firewood to our spot.

This was our second stay. Clean and tidy campground. We could see they are still improving by building back porches on their lake cabins. We had a beautiful view of Blue Lake from our camper!

Nice campground with lake, friendly people. We were there after rain so quite muddy, more gravel at sites and on roads would help.

Arrived late due to heavy rain. Staff still came out and showed us where are spot was. Then made sure we were in position that everything reached for hookup. Will not hesitate to stay again. Hopefully with better weather.

Hosts rude unavailable. Call & find out for early arrival. 5$ for each hour before 3, not before 2? arrived 2:03.Office closed before 2. Sm sticky no check in before 3. no one all day. Walk around building found papers in night in box. Asked about it was lied to, said it was on the email. Camp not worth money. Not whats in brochure. docks rotting weeds around lake. paddle boats old unsafe.

Our tow vehicle would not start (back wheels locked up), had it jumped & Google said to drive it 2 hrs to fully recharge the battery. Checkout time was 11:00 & we could finally leave at 1:00. (checkin time is at 3:00, a full 2 hrs before campers would arrive). KOA Owner (woman) was VERY rude and undympathic to our plight. everything was great. My only complaint would be that the mirrors in the Men's shower room are too low on the wall. If you are over 6' you need to kneel.

We were only going to stay for one night, but it was so pretty and peaceful there with the lake near, that we decided to spend an extra night. Very enjoyable.

My husband and I stayed here for the first time in July 2021. We have been back multiple times since! I was worried after reading some reviews as people were complaining about strict rules. We didn't find it strict at all. Everyone we dealt with went out of their way to be helpful. I tend to ask a lot of questions but never once was I shut down or felt like I was a bother. The lake is beautiful and reminds us of much longer trips we used to take to Minnesota. Campground very well cared for, cleanest restrooms we have ever seen/used at a KOA. The pool was kept perfectly clean and was so enjoyable. The RV spaces are very well spaced out, beautiful shade trees for my hubby who can't do the sun! Both sets of my kids and grandkids came out and had the best time! New dog park for my furkids and wonderful new playground for kids. This was an amazing place, and we hope to be going here for years. Thank you.

Typically, we don't stay in KOAs: we camp in the back of our pickup, with two mattresses in the bed and we don't need hookups or electricity. But since Lewis and Clark State Park campground on the other side of the lake books up very early for the summer season, we ended up reserving a tent site at this KOA. Our stay was pleasant enough. The site was right on the lake, with other simple campers (a family in a tent trailer) right next to us. No problems with rowdy behavior or noise. Restroom facilities (toilets, sinks, showers) were clean and well maintained. There were lots of huge RVs in the other parts of the campground, crammed in very close together. We were glad to have reserved a tent site.
