wonderful weekend at the cabins with family been years since we had stayed there cabins were clean and comfy and office very accommodating right on the lake and fishing was a plus some big ones in there like a 8 pound catfish a tv would be a plus for us who like news very quiet even tho the place was full

This campground was probably one of the nicest ones have stayed at.. I use the camping cabins as I travel on a motorcycle and my cabin was very nice... The bathroom and showers were spotless and clean.. Had a little trouble with the door latch on the cabin after hours but the owner came right out and got me back in... I'll definitely be back in the future..

The people in the office are RUDE! Did a family camping trip a couple years ago and * was rude then but because it's such a beautiful place I gave it another chance. * is still just as rude as well as their maintenance and cleaning guys. I didn't cause any problems either time I stayed. It seems that they are only nice to the people that are regulars. I will not stay there a

I had a pleasant stay here. The staff were nice and the laundry room and bathrooms were clean. Views from the lake cabin were beautiful. I appreciate the safeguards they had in place for Covid-19.

We love the cabin and the bathrooms but the female Owner is very very very rude had a friend try to come visit and she was so rude he did not visit we paid 225 for 3 days and could not enjoy any Amenities like swimming pool but the owners kids swam in it not right and charging visitors 3 dollars is wrong Music play late into night I feel that with all that happen a Refund or credit be giving

When you made your reservation you agreed to the rules and the conditions they stated that many of the amenities were closed including the pool. Perhaps you should have walked up to the pool to see that he was scrubbing not swimming the pool. Guests must check in at the office and pay the visitor fee he left after yelling at my young employee because he didn't want to pay. Follow posted rules.

We have always enjoyed coming to your KOA Onawa/Blue Lake. We come at least once a year and have been for the past 17 years.

Very disappointed, would not recommend due to service by the host. Highly unprofessional. Drive on to either Omaha West KOA or Sioux City /Falls KOA. Or if you want to camp on Blue Lake, there is a State Park campground.

While I was surprised that the cabin did not have a little space heater (I’ve stayed at 4 or 5 other KOA Kabins, all with heaters), I didn’t think it would matter to us. Unfortunately, due to my wife coming down with something- she got sick, and the lack of sleep due to the thunderstorms that went throughout the night, we had to leave early the next day. Maybe next year.

We stayed in one of there cabins and there where spiders all over the place and ants crawling around on the tables. I had bugs crawling on me all night. The beds where very uncomfortable. I understand it is a cabin but they need to be cleaned better. You could see daylight thru the door that doesn't even seal to the door frame. The door was warped. I will never stay at this campground again.

Out of all the reviews that we received on the cabins, you are the only complaint. All other campers boast about how spotless they are. Maybe next time a hotel will be a better choice for you.

Good: everything about the cabin and bathrooms was clean and comfortable. Staff very nice. Ok: basketball court and paddle board. Pool could have been cleaner. Bad. Swing set. Baby swing was broken. Arcade was turned off.

Baby swing had just broken that day, you can ask the staff to turn on the games and we will be more than happy to. We do not have paddle boards, our pool is clean. Again, things that could be addressed on-site rather than a review.

Bed is to low, tv didn’t work, no outside lite when we got there late

The tv is a dvd player only and works, you have a light on a pole directly above cabin. Said nothing during stay has to complain in a review.

I was very surprised to have to pay $18 to have my 3 children who were camping across the lake visit me. I think $6 a Day is excessive. Otherwise mycabin was adorable and I loved sitting in the swing on the porch.

Thank you for your stay over our 1/2 priced weekend. We did accommodate you by allowing you to check in 4 hours early. The visitor fee is outlined on our site maps and online, $3 per person per day. You did not pay $6 a day per person, your site did not have any visitors registered to your site just one person registered in a cabin???

We were tent camping and on Sunday it started raining very hard. We were starting pack to go home since we were in a tent. The kids were upset they didn't want to leave when the campground hostess offered us a cabin to stay in at no extra charge so we didn't have to go home. We were very happy. That was very nice ofvthe hostess to do. We definitely will be coming back. Thank you so much!

We had a great time camping at the Onawa/ Blue Lake KOA. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, the facilities were clean and well maintained. They offer paddleboat and recumbent bicycle rentals for reasonable prices and have plenty of space on their campsites. We stayed at a lakeside cabin and the view was amazing. We absolutley plan on visiting again and would recommend it to anyone!

My family stayed in the cabins. We have stayed here a few times before, and enjoy this KOA because it is on the lake. It’s a nice place to relax and it is quiet. The campground is clean and the restrooms were very nice. We will be back anytime we are coming thru IOWA. It is a great place to lay over and we enjoyed our stay.

My family stayed in the camp cabins on the lake. The camp ground is very nice and quiet. The restrooms were clean and easy to get to. The staff was very helpful. We have stayed here several times and enjoy this KOA a lot when we travel.

My husband and I stayed here for the first time in July 2021. We have been back multiple times since! I was worried after reading some reviews as people were complaining about strict rules. We didn't find it strict at all. Everyone we dealt with went out of their way to be helpful. I tend to ask a lot of questions but never once was I shut down or felt like I was a bother. The lake is beautiful and reminds us of much longer trips we used to take to Minnesota. Campground very well cared for, cleanest restrooms we have ever seen/used at a KOA. The pool was kept perfectly clean and was so enjoyable. The RV spaces are very well spaced out, beautiful shade trees for my hubby who can't do the sun! Both sets of my kids and grandkids came out and had the best time! New dog park for my furkids and wonderful new playground for kids. This was an amazing place, and we hope to be going here for years. Thank you.

Typically, we don't stay in KOAs: we camp in the back of our pickup, with two mattresses in the bed and we don't need hookups or electricity. But since Lewis and Clark State Park campground on the other side of the lake books up very early for the summer season, we ended up reserving a tent site at this KOA. Our stay was pleasant enough. The site was right on the lake, with other simple campers (a family in a tent trailer) right next to us. No problems with rowdy behavior or noise. Restroom facilities (toilets, sinks, showers) were clean and well maintained. There were lots of huge RVs in the other parts of the campground, crammed in very close together. We were glad to have reserved a tent site.
