we do not use facilities because we have our 5th wheel. but this was a nice camp..clean..friendly..and good pet place for walking.

We've stayed there 3 times May ,June and a week in July. Staff and everyone is so friendly the campground is clean and quiet. We love it up there hits very relaxing.

We always have a good time here! Always a clean campground and safe for kids to ride bikes all over the grounds. This year we did not participate in as many activities as usual due to social distancing guidelines with COVId, but we plan to come back again next summer!

Sites were very narrow with limited space to sit outside. Called before making reservation confirming length of unit with cargo trailer and car in storage. Staff told me I had to park car in visitor parking because my trailer was considered a second vehicle. Said I could leave and get a full refund if unhappy. They could fill my space on the July 4th weekend. I was not unhappy, just inquiring

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

A motor home towing a trailer plus a car, does not fit in a site that he reserved, could have called to explain his situation if he wanted something different or park his car back in his trailer. Was a problem the weekend.

Quiet and peaceful place right on the lake. Lewis and Clark state park is right across the lake a few mins. Pool looked nice but we didn’t swim. Bathrooms were clean. Everyone was supper helpful and friendly.

This is the 3rd or 4th time we have stayed here. We use this KOA as a layover when we go out to the western states. It has always been very peaceful and relaxing just to sit out and enjoy the quietness of the lake atmosphere.

Made last minute reservation and even got to check in early. Arrived and paper work was already completed. I was then escorted to my site. Everything was very nice an neat at the park. Nice quit park.

The Onawa/Blue Lake KOA is a well kept and well shaded KOA. Staff is very friendly. Lots are grassy and level. We would definitely stay there again.

We actually stayed here twice in the month of June. It is very well maintained. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We hope to get back in this area and be able to stay here a little longer. I highly recommend this KOA

Didn't love the spot we were put in. Said we didn't need sewer, but would have paid for it to have a location that didn't feel like we were right in the middle of a road. We will know for next time. People were very friendly and helpful.

I was reading the reviews upfront our arrival, and i honestly don't get where some of those (negative) reviews are coming from. The place is super clean, and super friendly. You can see that the owners invest time and money to make sure we have a great stay. My family loved it. We have been traveling over 5 weeks, and practically done only KOA's, this one is for sure in our top-5.

Campsites were not neat appearing, pool was not clean. Owners, husband was very friendly, but wife was not personable at all. We definitely would not stay or recommend this KOA to any travelers.

Our stay was just a quick overnite stop on a cross country trip. We received a friendly greeting from a young camp receptionist, who was knowledgeable and efficient in checking us in and directing us to our site. Our site was on the lake. Everything worked fine. Though the winds were gusting between 15 & 20 mph, mature trees kept the campground's interior tranquil. We will return.

My husband and I stayed here for the first time in July 2021. We have been back multiple times since! I was worried after reading some reviews as people were complaining about strict rules. We didn't find it strict at all. Everyone we dealt with went out of their way to be helpful. I tend to ask a lot of questions but never once was I shut down or felt like I was a bother. The lake is beautiful and reminds us of much longer trips we used to take to Minnesota. Campground very well cared for, cleanest restrooms we have ever seen/used at a KOA. The pool was kept perfectly clean and was so enjoyable. The RV spaces are very well spaced out, beautiful shade trees for my hubby who can't do the sun! Both sets of my kids and grandkids came out and had the best time! New dog park for my furkids and wonderful new playground for kids. This was an amazing place, and we hope to be going here for years. Thank you.

Typically, we don't stay in KOAs: we camp in the back of our pickup, with two mattresses in the bed and we don't need hookups or electricity. But since Lewis and Clark State Park campground on the other side of the lake books up very early for the summer season, we ended up reserving a tent site at this KOA. Our stay was pleasant enough. The site was right on the lake, with other simple campers (a family in a tent trailer) right next to us. No problems with rowdy behavior or noise. Restroom facilities (toilets, sinks, showers) were clean and well maintained. There were lots of huge RVs in the other parts of the campground, crammed in very close together. We were glad to have reserved a tent site.
