We stayed in one of there cabins and there where spiders all over the place and ants crawling around on the tables. I had bugs crawling on me all night. The beds where very uncomfortable. I understand it is a cabin but they need to be cleaned better. You could see daylight thru the door that doesn't even seal to the door frame. The door was warped. I will never stay at this campground again.

Out of all the reviews that we received on the cabins, you are the only complaint. All other campers boast about how spotless they are. Maybe next time a hotel will be a better choice for you.

We absolutely LOVE staying at this KOA! The staff are so friendly everything is so nice and clean just an over all great stay and would recommend the Onawa Blue Lake KOA to everyone!!! We will be back!

Place was Great. Clean good hot water for Showers. Extra KOA events for adults and Kids. just off I29 Close to Sioux City. Close to Omaha. Desoto bend. Sloan Iowa close Two casinos nearby. Winnavegas good buffet

Not a bad older campgrounds. Sites were kind of small, bit shady. We did not interact with the staff other than at check in. This is the first campgrounds in 30+ years of camping i have been charged a fee for showing up early. For the life of me i can't figure out what service I would have used that would cost $10. I will go back only because there are few places available labor day weekend.

Again, this should have been no surprise as it was sent to you in your email confirmation. It was not an automatic charge and you only live an hour away. This was the campgrounds 50th Anniversary celebration, free meal and entertainment all weekend. The review is unwarranted.

We were appalled to be charged an extra 10 dollars for arriving an hour early especially when I explained my wife was ill and we wanted to get checked in so she could rest. There were many sites not being used. We have traveled all over the US and Canada and have never been charged an early check in fee. We will not stop there again.

We are sorry your wife was ill, but had no knowledge of this. Check in time is 3 pm, as noted on your confirmation email. The campground was full and sites are being cleaned in between check in and check out. It was not an automatic charge.

Raining upon arrival a little after 1:00 pm. Host insisted on charging an extra 20.00 for early arrival. Was offered a refund to go someplace else. Host was quite surly. Cannot recommend this place

Check in time is 3 pm this was sent to you on your confirmation that was sent you 4 months prior to your stay. It was noon. Make sure your facts are accurate you were not charged $20 even though you made a scene in our store, yelling a young employee and she had to get the owner and were offered a refund to leave.

Good: everything about the cabin and bathrooms was clean and comfortable. Staff very nice. Ok: basketball court and paddle board. Pool could have been cleaner. Bad. Swing set. Baby swing was broken. Arcade was turned off.

Baby swing had just broken that day, you can ask the staff to turn on the games and we will be more than happy to. We do not have paddle boards, our pool is clean. Again, things that could be addressed on-site rather than a review.

Stayed only one night out and one night back but I so liked the ladies shower house. The stalls were secure by being able to lock yourself in and they had nice music piped into the bathroom. Oh and the extra lighting at the mirrors was wonderful too!

Was unable to access Wifi. Code did not work. Cell reception was poor & without WiFi aces, was unable to communicate. Other than that, campground was OK

Unlevel pads very buggy and had to walk around in mud. Help with checking was very rude. I would not stay there again

Being from Council Bluffs, you should know about the constant moisture in the area, the ground is wet and we have more bugs than normal for Iowa. Customer showed up at 9am to check in, our check in is 3, camper from prior night was still in site, was not happy from get go, no pleasing! We had over an inch of rain before you checked in. Our pads are level if you needed help you should have asked.

The camping staff was very nice; the park is well shaded and full trees. We had a good rest on our travels down Hwy 29.

Campground is nestled in a nice grove of mature trees. Bathrooms were clean and the lake provided a beautiful view. Could use some more kids play equipment would be only suggestion!

The site itself was nice and shady. Not much grass, made it difficult to play games, especially after a storm. Big issue with the reservation. Your reservation page is very specific about site amenities. When it states "works well with satellite", I expect just that. Had none.The KOA auto system should not assign this site under that amenity. Or, you manually moved me to accommodate others.

The tv is a dvd player only and works, you have a light on a pole directly above cabin. Said nothing during stay has to complain in a review.

We have been coming to the Onawa KOA for 3 years. They do a fantastic celebration for the July 4th events including many activities for the children. The owners are very attentive to the grounds and focus on safety. We would highly recommend!!

Easy check in and very easy sites to negotiate and hook up. No problem getting a 50 amp pull through site. Very picturesque site right on Blue Lake.

Need more washers and dryers. Some of the drives need leveled. Our park space was 5" higher on one than the other side. Nice place with good shade. I would stay here again.

Fantastic hosts and very helpful to us as we navigated a major RV electrical issue within our rig. Great sense of community in this campground and well maintained facilities.

My husband and I stayed here for the first time in July 2021. We have been back multiple times since! I was worried after reading some reviews as people were complaining about strict rules. We didn't find it strict at all. Everyone we dealt with went out of their way to be helpful. I tend to ask a lot of questions but never once was I shut down or felt like I was a bother. The lake is beautiful and reminds us of much longer trips we used to take to Minnesota. Campground very well cared for, cleanest restrooms we have ever seen/used at a KOA. The pool was kept perfectly clean and was so enjoyable. The RV spaces are very well spaced out, beautiful shade trees for my hubby who can't do the sun! Both sets of my kids and grandkids came out and had the best time! New dog park for my furkids and wonderful new playground for kids. This was an amazing place, and we hope to be going here for years. Thank you.

Typically, we don't stay in KOAs: we camp in the back of our pickup, with two mattresses in the bed and we don't need hookups or electricity. But since Lewis and Clark State Park campground on the other side of the lake books up very early for the summer season, we ended up reserving a tent site at this KOA. Our stay was pleasant enough. The site was right on the lake, with other simple campers (a family in a tent trailer) right next to us. No problems with rowdy behavior or noise. Restroom facilities (toilets, sinks, showers) were clean and well maintained. There were lots of huge RVs in the other parts of the campground, crammed in very close together. We were glad to have reserved a tent site.
