Campground Reviews

We stayed at 46A. After setup, I mentioned to someone working the desk that it smelled like dog crap, because I saw a lot of people leading their dogs to poop in the “playground” area but not utilizing the dog poop bags and trash can. However, I came to understand that the odor was due to the sewer clean-out located at 46A that was absolutely horrible to smell each time someone flushed upstr

Beautiful location! Well run and maintained campground!

Our stay was very unpleasant. If you are tent camping don’t even bother! It was overpriced and the campsite if that’s what you want to call it was so small you could reach your arm out and touch the other tents & campers. We stayed one night paid for two “no refund” is what the girl at the desk told me. Didn’t care it was that bad. I would call the owners of this KOA very greedy people.

very courteous staff and grounds are well maintained.

We appreciate the service and amenities provided by the KOA. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Sadly, We booked our stay back in March. I recognize that the current times have made availability difficult to come by. With that, our site (#9) was next to the restrooms, and an unmarked overflow lot/parking lot. This resulted in a lot of light noise in the evenings, random vehicles, etc..

Such a wonderful experience! Upon arriving, we were greeted by several very happy & kind folks working at the campground. Uplifting music was playing all over. Two gentlemen helped us back our trailer (successfully) into one of the most difficult spaces on the campground. That alone took away from plenty of marital bickering! The facilities were so clean! The restaurant so yummy! Very Happy!!!

Best KOA we’ve ever stayed at.

Wonderful, friendly staff and clean facility. Looking forward to going back!

Very attentive staff and owner. Beautiful site. Appreciated the live music, the church service on Sunday morning (also with live music), and having a restaurant on site. Internet was serviceable although a bit slow. Great location and fantastic views. Close to town and hiking. Garbage pickup, firewood delivery and quiet after 10 pm all provided. Great place to stay. We’ll be back for sure

We had a great experience at the Ouray KOA. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend it to any campers.

The staff is absolutely amazing. They made a space for me (even though they were fully booked). We stayed 3 nights. Our experience could not have been better. Thank you for being excellent.

Appears you are trying to pack as many into that campground as possible. Probably will not return. Used to stay here in years past with previous owners and was a pleasant place to visit.

We love everything about the Ouray KOA! Great service, amenities, love the sites/cabins by the stream, and the restaurant is a nice treat.

We really appreciate the way you have added to your store, restaurant, the horse back riding, and other activities.

Our deluxe cabin was perfect. The campgrounds were week kept, and the staff was very courteous and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay in Ouray.

Beautiful facility, great views, wildlife, access to Ouray, General Store/restaurant and even live music. Only issue was power is not adequate in some areas, given a full park on a hot day. So we had to run on minimal electrical even with a 30A hookup.

First, I googled campgrounds and saw this one said free breakfast (which is not true), The tent sites are very small, crowded, littered, no space or privacy, the audacity to charge $50 AND you gotta be out by 11:00 AM! There's a lovely pile of trash debris in the corner of the lot and some overlord in a house up on the cliff looking down at you. Will never come back here. Friendly staff, though.

We had a great stay. Beautiful place! Only issue we had was an unclean camping cabin upon our arrival. Staff was very apologetic and made it right very quickly. We can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful place to stay as always, love the new updates! The staff is very friendly, and made us feel very welcome.

Fantastic park, enjoyed every minute of our stay. The staff were friendly and attentive. The amenities were off the chart including the live music and park store. Will definitely be back to stay longer.

Staff was very friendly. Bathrooms were clean. The grounds of the campground were well maintained. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

We had a great time. Clean, nice cafe. Coffee shop needs better coffee. Everybody was very nice. Great bathrooms and showers were very clean. The firewood delivery and ice was great.

Everyone so nice!

Overall, the stay was great as usual. However, the service in the Cafe needs work. The people working in the Cafe were great, just way understaffed. There were lots of running around the campground to help you, but you need to have probably 2 or 3 more for cafe. Like a busboy or 2 to help the waitresses. Thank you.

wish there was grass again at the tent site areas. When it rains it is muddy and when the wind blows dirt flies everywhere.

Love the hospitality & convenience of KOA’s! We’ve always had a great experience. The staff has always been so friendly & you feel like family. Love it! Thank you so much!

Beautiful place! I loved all the text updates, helpful employees, good store, and a restaurant!! The spots were HUGE compared to other KOAs. Had plenty of room. Will definitely be back!

Pleased with our stay, and would do it again.
Jul 18, 2021
We were placed in an awful site with tons of traffic all night.
Jul 18, 2021
Poor Wi-Fi connection that connects only around the check in station. The cabin across from the live music at night was loud and had no privacy.
Jul 18, 2021
Very well kept, safe and secure. Tent site was nice size.
Jul 18, 2021
Very clean, quiet at night and great shade.

We stopped for a night en route to California from Colorado. It’s a very well kept KOA in a beautiful location. We we able to pull-thru and not disconnect. The sewer connection is pretty high so our hose dipped significantly. Fortunately we had a good bridge. I’m guessing they were high for a reason, perhaps snow? The internet was decent outside but not so much in our trailer.

My wife and I spent 6 nights at this KOA in July 2021. We have travelled over 10,000 miles in our RV over the past year staying in many KOAs and this one was one of the best. Diverse campsites (no "parking lot feel"). Clean, well maintained. The staff and the customer service were OUTSTANDING! They clearly liked their jobs and this showed in their eagerness to provide excellent service.

New owners have made great improvements to a KOA that has been a favorite for many years.
Jul 17, 2021
Great place to stay. I would say one of the nicest locations if you like a mountain atmosphere. They have great services, they bring ice and wood right to your site. The food in the restaurant is great as well. Definitely plan to revisit.

We felt safe and comfortable and we slept well here! Great showers and bathrooms. Very friendly staff. Just an overall great experience.
Jul 17, 2021
Very friendly staff! However the tent sites are to close together and no privacy

It was ok. I really think 25.00 per night for a dog that u have absolutely no contact with was outrageous. I fill like because things are opening up, businesses are gutting the public like a pig. I can afford it but I know people that can’t so they stay home. Always about money and the haves and have nots.

Power went out daily, one leg of the 50a was constantly under 100v. Many dead trees throughout campground, death trap waiting. Owner must not care about it too much, we saw second tree fall in just the past few months. Many more waiting to fall. Owner should take care of it before someone is seriously injured or killed.

Place has gone downhill. Removed all open space and packed in more sites. Dirty and dusty. Almost no amenities, but they made sure to build a large store for merch and a big bar to sell drinks and food. Nothing for kids. BUT....they charge a resort fee, pet fee, etc. Been coming for 10 years. Never again. Guests 50%+ Texans, so is the new owner. We were the only Coloradoan in sight!

All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, this extends to the owner Troy and General Manager Robert. Both gentlemen are very friendly, involved and well liked by their employees. The restrooms and laundry are dated but are functional and cleaned regularly. Road dust is pretty heavy but not much different than most western campgrounds. We stayed in our 5th wheel and will be back.

I stayed here in 2012 on a trip to the San Juans. Camp hosts were super friendly, and the showers were nice and clean. We did a tent spot and it was great.

We just needed to use facilities on the way through. The showers here are so clean, water is piping hot and pressure is great. One of the cleanest bathroom setups we have had in awhile. The camphost was so friendly. Don't forget to say hello to Hermes, the camp cat! Such a sweetie and might follow you into the bathroom to warm up on the off season. 😇
