Picacho Peak State Park – 8 miles away

A fantastic spot for family-friendly hiking, picnicking, and exploring the desert. Hunter Trail is the most challenging and takes you straight up to the top for the ultimate desert outlook. Sunset Trail is much more gradual yet still affords spectacular views. Picacho Peak also offers easier trails like the Nature Trail that are perfect for children and less experienced hikers. The park features a Civil War historical site, where the Battle of Picacho Pass took place in 1862. Check out the park ranger store for souvenirs.
