My husband & I come from out of state frequently for his dr. appts. at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the U of U. The hosts & support people at this KOA are always friendly & helpful. This KOA is conveniently located to my husband's doctors. The sites are clean & most are shaded with trees. Thank you for caring & keeping up COVID-19 protocols (MASKING UP) !

The camp area appeared to be in good shape and clean. However, I found that the tenants that were camping there were completely ignoring the posted speed limits - very scary considering the people and children walking around the area!!!!! I would recommend speed bumps to control the problem. I did not enjoy the continuance of train horns at numerous time after midnight!! VERY DISTURBINGJ

Front check in seemed a bit disorganized.

Bad area of town. Motel being demolished next door. Next to SLC airport and hear jets 24 hours. It is close to attractions and downtown.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are excited the Motel next store is being torn down, we will have a brand new neighbor shortly.

The SLC KOA was a very pleasant surprise to us. The Salt Lake valley can be very hot in the summer and the campground is covered with great shade trees. We also like to ride bicycles and the campground is right on the Jordan River Trail which is over 40 miles long and paved. Everyone that we interacted with at the KOA were knowledgable, helpful, and very nice! Great place. We will come back.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for staying!

Great campground, horrible surrounding area. Locking gates at entrances should be added

Fine

My stay was good but was unhappy i was charged for a day i did not stay. Saltlake City was the only KOA camp that did not contact me the day before my stay to remind me of the date. I made 10 different reservations for 10 different camps On July 15th for our entire vacation and i really depended on the reminders from each camp to remember my dates. We will be there next summer. Maybe not there

Great campground, very clean and well laid out. Had it not been for the smoke from the wildfires, we would have been able to enjoy it the way we had hoped. Would definitely stay here again.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks!

There was lots of shade at this campground and it was located close to public transportation. The facilities were clean. Although we were only there for one night, this is a campground I would definitely stay at again and for a longer period of time.

We stayed 6 nights. The sites were clean and well maintained. Amenities were great. The staff was helpful and friendly. They work very hard at keeping things nice. The surrounding area is a little depressed but didn't keep us from our activities. UTA light rail is right out front. Centrally located to all Salt Lake City has to offer. Only 30 minutes to Park City.

Okay RV park. Very close to neighbors all around. A bit pricey for what you get. Nice coverage of trees though. Kept things cooler.

We stayed 1 week and it was very nice. It was great to have big shade trees. After coming from the desert.

Everything has been great except one of the ladies in the office was quite rude to me. I had previously talked to a manager about moving to a weekly site and she asked me to come back in on a Sunday. Well the gal working on Sunday questioned me heavily and honestly talked down to me. It is crazy we pay $500 a week to park our trailer and I was treated this way. Not the best customer service.

Tent spot next to the roadway. Spent most of the night listening to cars racing, one of which we video’d to turn in. Very loud. Showers were very bad. Used nicotine pouches in the women’s and a man had pooped in one of the men’s showers and left it. Late check in however was a breeze.

Came just for a medical procedure at Huntsman, but the park was quiet, clean, very shady. Needed that shade for the 90+ degree days. didn’t have time to find an access to the river trail and dog park, tho. maybe next time.

I love SLC KOA and I do stay here often, I know that employees cannot be all places as all times but this time the speed limit was not being obeyed by many this time, other than that this is a GREAT place.

location is terrible, next to busy streets, and smoking was allowed. We ended up with a neighbor who smoked the whole time, and location is very noisy, and the only positive to this location is there is shower available. Would not stay here again.

The campgrounds themselves are very nice, I stayed in my truck tent in one of the Tent Sites, in the description it says "you might hear some city noise", it was more like a drag strip on the other side of the fence directly behind the Tent Sites - aprx. 15 feet away. If you are in an RV or Trailering you will be further away from that street. I will still stay there again when passing through.

Lovely KOA. Staff was helpful and courteous. Our kids loved the game zone!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We're glad your kids had fun!

Best thing about the SLC KOA (besides the wide, shady sites)? Red Iguana Mexican restaurant right up the street is one of the top 2 or 3 Mexican restaurants in the states. Their moles are excellent! To dine there you must stand in line-no reservations-and there is always a line. Order takeout and the order is ready as quickly as you can get there.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for the review and the advice on enjoying Red Iguana.

I always look forward to staying at the SLC KOA! It just has the best vibes and I'm always eager to return. We will be back in a few weeks and we cannot wait. Thank you for all that you do, especially the maintenance staff. 10/10 stars, 11 if it were possible. Thanks again, The Evans Family

I had a great time at your KOA. The grounds were well maintained, and trees everywhere were awesome—a piece of paradise nestled into the city. The KOA is not in the best part of town, that is NOT to say I was ever uncomfortable. I will definitely stay here again. The swimming pool, Hot Tub, and playground are all well maintained. There was live music and get-together the day before I left.

Very nice park. Great parking pads that are level. It's nice that it fronts North Temple with straight shots downtown or the airport.
Aug 15, 2021
The bathrooms, as well as the campground in general, are kept very clean and presentable. Friendly and efficient staff add to the pleasure of staying at KOA's Salt Lake City location.

The good: Convenient to downtown, shady sites. Wifi was good when it worked. Friendly staff. Seems to be a family friendly park. The bad: The sewer hookup required 3 hoses and the sewer cap was not attached to the sewer line, you could just pull it up. People let their dogs pee and poop on the grass in the sites. Homeless people surround the park. It would be easy for them to get inside.
Aug 15, 2021
The back dog walk area was locked and not usable so wasn't sure where to take our dog. Quite tight for large RVs.
Aug 15, 2021
Was easy to make a reservation and check in. Site was a pull in with full hook ups and was fairly level. After a long day on the road the pool and hot tub was a great way to end the day.

I think the KOA was great. It had a nice location, pool and the truck wash was a rare feature. The only thing I would recommend is a different recycling area as most bags placed in it were not recyclables. It is rare to find a KOA that attempts to recycle so thank you for this. If a list of recyclables was posted maybe it would motivate people to take better care of the earth.

Very nice Park but very noisy. The space we were put in was too small for our 40 ft. trailer & PU but it was ok.

Excellent KOA. Large, Shady, paved lots with patios. Numerous amenities for adults & children and they loved the free arcade. Such a bonus. Close to the Mormon temple and town. The personnel were very efficient and pleasant and we loved the car wash at the KOA. What a great idea. Would definitely stay with you again. Thank you

It’s good. Everything worked. Staff seemed annoyed at check in, but maybe just having a bad day.
