Things to know about our Campground

We're not your average KOA—and that's what makes us special!
From 1968, our family has proudly owned and operated this campground, and in 2008, we joined the KOA family, where we've continued to grow, improve, and welcome campers from all over the world. Our environment has the lively feel of a city-style campground, filled with energy, convenience, and plenty of things to do. Our mission is simple: to make your camping experience unforgettable. Whether you're here for Cedar Point, traveling across the country, or exploring beautiful Lake Erie, Sandusky KOA Holiday offers a large, activity-filled campground with amenities and recreation for all ages.
A Few Things to Know Before You Arrive
• Nearby Train Noise
We do have a train that runs off-property and may be noticeable if you're not used to it. While it's outside our control, we want you to be aware ahead of time—your comfort matters to us.
• A Fun, Lively Atmosphere
We're a city-park–style campground, which means families come here to have fun, relax, and enjoy time away from home. If you're seeking a very quiet, rural-style setting, we might not align with those expectations—but if you love activity, excitement, and a social atmosphere, you'll feel right at home!
• Quiet Hours
Our quiet time is 11 PM to 8 AM. We are a kid-friendly, activity-packed park, so there's plenty of fun earlier in the day, followed by a peaceful night's rest. At Sandusky KOA Holiday, we're all about family, fun, and creating lasting memories—and we can't wait to welcome you!

KOA Pet Policy / Sandusky Bayshore KOA Holiday Pet Policy

KOA Pet Policy
Some visitors enjoy sharing the pleasures of camping with their dogs or cats. To ensure that all guests have a safe and enjoyable experience, KOA has established some guidelines.
Before You Go:
Call ahead. Check with the campground about its specific pet policies. Some don't allow pets in Kamping Kabins, for example, or may have limited pet units. Others don't accept particular breeds that insurance providers have identified as having a history of aggression.
Bring your helper. Service dogs are welcomed at all KOA Kampgrounds. (Leash and aggressive behavior rules apply.) Papers are not permitted for service animals, but our fines and rules do apply.
When You Arrive:
Good behavior is required. Dogs of any breed that are hostile or aggressive will be asked to leave the campground, along with their owners.
Bring the leash. Dogs must be kept on leashes no longer than 6 feet when outside their owners' vehicles or rental units. Do not leave a tethered dog unattended.
Remember manners. Constant barking bothers other campers. If your pet is too vocal, you'll need to find other accommodations.
Sandusky Bayshore KOA Add on Pet Policy
We ask that any guest bringing pets to stay with them during the duration of their stay. You must have vaccination records and up to date tags on all their pets. If an altercation of aggression should occur, you will need to provide these documents to Sandusky KOA and the other parties involved in the altercation if needed. We also ask that you follow our leash law, KOA pet policy and our own (Sandusky Bayshore KOA Holiday pet policy) always insist that your dog is on a leash, pets are not allowed to walk around free of a leash or tethered to your site unattended NO EXCEPTIONS! If you cannot follow our policy, we have the right to ask you to no longer bring your pet or have the grounds to remove you from our property.
We do not allow pets in our tenting area due to prior guest leaving their pets un attended all day while out at Cedar Point or exploring the islands. We only allow campers to have pets if they have an RV or some type of motorhome so they can keep their pets indoors incase of heat or weather.

WE DO NOT ALLOW PETS IN ALL OF OUR LODGING. PLEASE ASK ABOUT OUR PET FRIENDLY OPTIONS - IF YOU DECIDE TO GO AGENTS OUR POLICY YOU WILL BE FINED $100 OR MORE. So please be honest and follow our Policy

Thank You,
Alex & Ashlee GM/Hosts
