The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Cabin 3 is very nice and everything worked nicely (comfy beds, open floor plan, nice lighting). We rode our bikes to the Lake and around the dirt path around the Frisbee golf course. We like cooking while “Glamping,” so the 2-burner electric stove was smaller than expected but we made it work.

The location is very clean as well as the restrooms and showers. The campsites to tent are large. However, the RV campsites are compact. The staff are very friendly. Great place for the children to have fun!

As usual, the staff is friendly and attentive. The only con about this KOA is the powdered, silt-like RV and campsites. These conditions make it really difficult to keep the dust from taking over your RV or tent. But, the location is awesome!. It makes you feel like you’re at summer camp.

It was a very nice place the only reason for a low rating was because it was too dry and dusty needs grass and greenery.

Great place for an extended weekend of camping. Kim Ann was a great host at the front store. Only complaint was that the swimming pool was over booked with people during our reservation time.

This is our second time staying here, and we couldn't be happier! Everyone is welcoming and friendly, including our neighbors in the adjacent campsite. We were happy to see and feed Kevin the Emu again. Overall, the bathrooms were really clean and the campsite was pleasant. The weather was in the mid 90's one of the days, but the shade in the campsite made it bearable. Highly recommend!

Kim was awesome went out of her way to make sure I felt comfortable and safe while camping on my own. Really calm KOA not so hectic like a couple others I’ve been to.

It’s beautiful place ! Close to Moro Bay, Avila Beach and Pismo Beach. Bathroom and shower are very clean and nice. People who works there are extremely nice, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Santa Margarita KOA.

Clean campgrounds, bathrooms, convenience store well stocked, friendly staff, nice amenities and pool area. Employees could do a better job with Covid procedure. Signs were clearly posted with rules but employees weren't always wearing masks or social distancing when interacting with guests. They could enforce these things a bit better with their guests too.

Cabins were great and clean. Pool needs updating and unfortunately there was no movie night which was told to us they still were doing it but unfortunately people must have complained due to COVID.

Stayed in cabin 80, they have thought of everything for the kitchen! Our family really enjoyed our stay and the turkeys in the morning were fun to watch!

This was an amazing experience! We discovered this KOA when our initial campground got closed due to fires, and we couldn't be happier with this campground! The host lady was very nice and welcoming and had a very cute dog! She helped us get the perfect campground and pointed us to beautiful hikes with a view of the lake. Not to mention the bathrooms are very clean and Kevin the Emu is awesome!

Very clean. Loved our cabin. Lots of trees. Friendly staff. Wifi was good. General store seemed to have everything you'd need without leaving to find camping goods.

The area is pleasant and clean. The staff is always friendly and nice. Seeing Kevin the Emu was fun along with watching the kids jump in the bounce area. The flies were something to prepare for next time we go.

It was perfect! Friendly staff, great location and the cabin was a dream. Trust me you're still camping even in a deluxe cabin with a bathroom! Thank you KOA for making our first camping trip memorable and for helping me relax. We will be back again and again. Oh, and our dog loved it! Literally couldn't get him into the truck when it was time to leave.

No grass; dusty. Ice cold pool. Power kept going out first day we were there; it was very hot. Power grid needs to be updated. Staff was friendly but overall disappointing.

So beautiful and well organized, this KOA is on the top of our list. The difference here is the welcoming and happy staff with great attitudes and smiles. Excellent customer service!!!!

Great time in the deluxe cabin- site #80. The loft was great for my toddler. We didn’t use any amenities and enjoyed time at the lake (5 mins away)- my hubby caught some nice bass. I think the RV site next door was a little too close, luckily we didn’t really see the man staying there. I’d recommend booking those sites together with a friend. We will definitely be back.

We got the same spot we had at our last visit. 8 years ago! Lots of shade! We had 2 of our grandsons with us so we visited Kevin several times �. We spent time at the pool. We hiked around the campground. Its really spread out! We also went to the lake. Next time we're bringing our raft! The stars were amazing! The sky is so blue! It was such a joy!

All in all a very nice campground with many options for camping. The only downsides we had were that we got a very hot campsite with not much shade, there were many bees and small flying bugs so you could not enjoy sitting outside and the bathrooms seemed like they were not often maintained they had spider webs. The staff were great and very friendly.

This was our second time here and im already planning for another...cabins are immaculate..cozy and quiet...its so nice to sit in the evening on the swing and listen to the kids playing in the distance and the smell of camp fires and in the morning the sound of the turkeys making their way through the camp sights ...such a peaceful and happy place to be.see u soon michelle at KOA Santa margarita..

The people were very helpful and always nice to deal with, we had to cancel and reschedule twice due to fires and family emergencies. 3rd time we made it, so glad we didn't give up it was great. The only downside was all dirt spaces.

Our camping neighbors attempted to burn their garbage both nights of our stay. It stunk up the campground really badly, all night and even the next morning. Why does KOA management ignore that?

I always love the friendly KOA staff, they go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome. I stayed on a weekend that KOA was running a special, so the campground was very full, but KOA visitors are good people and they respect others in ways you don't find in other campgrounds. My little dogs enjoyed the dog park and I enjoyed the break. I'll be back!

Amazing Camping. A lot of to do with kids. So nice swimming pool and Zip Line area. I am recommend this a special at the week days!

5 stars for sure ! What hidden gem ! Wolf & Lisa and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly, very helpful as well as extremely knowledgeable of the area. My wife and I had a great time enjoying the camp store as well as the lake and the surrounding area. The campground was very well kept and clean we cant wait to make it back again. Thanks KOA
