Great experience. Very comfortable for grandma. Kids are all grown and they had a great time. Staff very friendly and cabin very clean. We are already deciding when we want to come back.

It was great. Glad there was a pinic table and a fire ring with the grill. Wish there was a little more shade, but other than that had a good experience. Staff was wonderful.

Nice campground half mile from Santa Margarita Lake. The camp is clean and well maintained.

Fantastic staff, cabin, store and the lake is beautiful. Next year will be my 7th year in a row. Can’t wait!

Staff was very friendly but there was a little too much dirt and hills for our liking. Thank you for being friendly hosts. Also, it would have been nice to have seen better pictures of the actual sites before our booking.

Our campsite was dirt and a beat up picnic table. The wind blew dust everywhere. It was miserable.

Cool, quiet, very friendly staff! Only 20ish minutes from Pismo. We will definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful 5 day stay at Santa Margarita KOA. Masking and distancing were followed. The biggest thumbs up goes to the staff who were incredibly friendly and quick to solve problems! A special shout out goes to Kim Ann and Colton who really assisted us and made our stay so enjoyable. In fact, we already. Reserved for a weekend in September!

It was very dusty, the pool was dirty, the spaces were very small for RV. Also no grocery store was close and store had limited items.

I was very disappointed to see all the trash around the campground - empty liquor bottle, water bottles, discarded clothing, etc.

100% Amazing!! Around every corner or bend was always something Mouth Dropping Gorgeous����� My Family and Friends New Favorite Getaway. Reasonable rates on everything. Swimming Pool Awesome. No Wall Bounce thingy Awesome. The Lake is Huge and The Staff gets 4����. And The YURTs are the place to lay your head after an Awesome Day. Thank you sooo much����

We LOVED Santa Margarita. Great facilities and friendly staff. Relaxed vibe and great access to local hikes and beaches.

We had a very quiet retreat from the bay area and loved our secluded cabin. We have always used the cabins with no bathrooms etc. We upgraded so we would have our own bathroom to stay safe from COVID 19. Our only concern was that employees did not wear masks or require masks in the store/office. We went in and there were 9 people including employees. We were the only people wearing a mask. sad:(

Was nice, lost water one night right before our shower burst survived with a unhappy wife. Wr stayed three nights Friday- Monday and garbage stacked up. All together our 3rd trip there and plan to return again.

We had a great time! The nights were quiet and the stars were highly visible. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The roads are not paved so prepare for the dust. Most family events are cancelled due to COVID-19 and pool use had to be scheduled. Bathrooms were regularly sanitized and clean. We will be back again! Tent camped in overflow 4A - 4C and had a nice bit of shade at peak heat.

It was great. Only concern was the bathroom and the water stopping mid shower on more than one occasion. Staff was amazing!

Good location not a far drive from the coast, spacious, well organized. Not doing their part in enforcing county mandated COVID cautionary practices. Campers around our site were noisy and there were no enforced quiet hours. Would recommend as a back-up option. However, may be a better fit for families or RV-goers.

I was never greeted by staff - even when I went into the store. There was a pool but in this time of COVID, I was surprised how many people were allowed in the pool and also on the jump pillow. When they showed the movie - there was no social distancing. When we first arrived I could smell weed. A loud generator ran during quiet time. The lake is nice for boating, fishing, and viewing wildlife.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are sorry that you had less than an excellent visit. We normally greet every Guest. I am not sure why you were not greeted. We are following all CDPH COVID Guidelines. Family Units are allowed to be together. Our Jumping Pillow is officially closed so anyone using it did so at their own risk. Marijuana is legal in CA so it is difficult for us to restrict its use. We're glad you enjoyed nature.

Campground very well kept. Wi Fi pretty good. Stayed at the primitive cabin. Having a small refrigerator was a huge plus. Comfortable beds. Cabin equipped with 2 fans but they are no match for the summer heat.

The staff was so kind and helpful! I had car trouble twice(!) and both times the staff helped me out right away! I really appreciate their help! The campground was amazing and we had a wonderful, relaxing vacation. I am already planning our next trip back!

We were in a great site, #62. It has a beautiful view and no close neighbors. The only problem we encountered was slightly low water pressure. Santa Margarita KOA is unique among the various KOAs where we have stayed in that it is spread out across various hills. Most of the sites have fantastic views and the tenting sites have a great deal of space between them and most are in the shade.

Staff went above and beyond! Facilities were clean and well-maintained. We had a wonderful time and the experience was like medicine for us. Staff and other guests were respectful of social distancing, too.

Santa Margarita KOA is always our first choice in all KOA site and our favorite KOA ever. Me and my husband always booked at SANTA Margarita as the cabin is complete, clean and feels like you’re staying at your own home, specially the deluxe. The staff are all nice and very accommodating, friendly and the owner as well Karen when I spoke to her over the phone. Very helpful.

Staff was friendly and funny and extremely helpful - we had some noisy neighbors, and staff was sure to follow up to make sure they weren't disturbing us. Bathrooms smelled great and were well maintained. We loved our campsite and had so much fun!

This was our first time at a KOA and it was the best camping experience. It was exactly what my family needed in these crazy times. I love the cabins and the fun activities that they had. The staff was incredibly friendly.

each night and morning there was a loud drone flying close to our site and our family as we walked around the area. we alerted the front desk but it continued to happen.

Amazing Camping. A lot of to do with kids. So nice swimming pool and Zip Line area. I am recommend this a special at the week days!

5 stars for sure ! What hidden gem ! Wolf & Lisa and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly, very helpful as well as extremely knowledgeable of the area. My wife and I had a great time enjoying the camp store as well as the lake and the surrounding area. The campground was very well kept and clean we cant wait to make it back again. Thanks KOA
