Friendly staff, pool was a bit discusting, as in not clean during hot weather. Kids had fun during the activities during the day on Sat, especially the large slip and slid and foam pit.

KOA Santa Margarita is a special spot! Rugged and spacious with amazing views and helpful staff. The night skies are spectacular and star gazer hill is not to be missed!! We loved our stay!!

Great fun for the kids—the waterside & foam pit were a smash. And they practically lived at the bounce pillow. Everything is on a hill & I’m paved so I didn’t bring their bikes, however some kids did bike around. We wouldn’t have biked to the lake because we had our bikes. My one complaint would be the dog park was pretty overgrown an unkempt.

We were stopping for the night but it was nice and leveled and that is very important to have leveled sites for trailers

We really liked the more remote location of this KOA. I wish the pool was bigger, but it was nice that there was one to begin with. The hilly layout is a good workout but I could see it being more difficult for older folks - especially if using the showers/bathroom. Super-friendly staff!

We had an amazing time at our campsite. We stayed here before about 4-41/2 years ago and we were on the edge of returning. But we thought why not try again. So, we have to say from the moment we arrived till we departed this Koa was outstanding. Your management is outstanding and kudos to her and the staff for turning your campgrounds around and making it a clean, fun and safe environment!!!

We had a wonderful stay! I can not begin to express how nice and helpful everyone was. I was asked multiple times by staff how everything was going or reminded if we needed anything to let them know. We will be coming back.

The activities for the kids were great but not having any air conditioning in the 100-degree weather was not good. We paid $75 a night to have no air for the hottest parts of the days. Tell people ahead of time. We will not come be going back.

This KOA has so much potential. Good location by the lake yet out in the middle of the coastal mountain range. Fun stuff for the kids to do like the bounce pillow, feeding the emu, hay rides, etc. Now the bad...not every full hook up RV spot has a tree like the site says, don’t expect the power to be on the whole time or reliable, don’t expect the pool or common areas to be cleaned regularly.

Very nice campground nestled along the foothills just a mile from Santa Margarita Lake. Lots of oak trees and shade depending on your site. Highly recommend.

We used our pop-up to stay central to two wine areas. This location was perfect. We received assistance on a camper issue very quickly. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. The campsite was clean and level. We are in our 70's and getting to the bathroom using 2 sets of stairs was difficult, but it was very clean and maintained. Grounds were very quiet and beautiful.

Our stay at the Koa was kind of uncomfortable and awkward. Our camp site was switched without any notice which put us in the employees/ residents area in the Mesa. It felt like we were invading their space privacy. When I was approached by an employee and was told that for the inconvenience she gave me a discount which I appreciate. However i would have rather preferred a call to reschedule.

The staff was wonderful. The setting very nice with lots of things to do. I have never stayed at a place that didn't have the correct amp. My site only had a 50 amp. Why install a unit like that?

This was such a great place for us on our first trip out with the trailer. Lots of great family friendly activities, amazing staff that was knowledgable and fun and a great layout of the camp. We will absolutely be back!

Tent site #43 is the bomb! We spent 8 glorious days and the hospitality we experienced was kind and helpful. Dylan and Phillip were so patient with my kiddos- it was sad to leave

While at Santa Margarita the staff were wonderful, nice, and helpful. We had a branch fall into our campsite and they promptly removed it. The sites are clean and up to date. I will be staying here often.

Good: Swimming pool was good to cool off. Disappointments: 1) Description said "plenty of shade" - there was NONE. VERY important in 93-97 temps. 2) Quiet hours don't end until 8 am - yet loud construction equipment rolled up, and conversations outside our campers, began ~7:30 am. 3) Description said WiFi was provided even though cell coverage was non-existent or spotty. WiFi was equally spotty.

Great staff. This is the KOA to go to if you like to walk the hills because everything is on a different elevation. The views are worth the climb.

Trying out our new to us RV. All was good, had a great site (56). I did see a potentially dangerous issue, site 55 has an overhanging tree that appears to be dead. Would hate to see it fall on someone’s unit.

Amazing Camping. A lot of to do with kids. So nice swimming pool and Zip Line area. I am recommend this a special at the week days!

5 stars for sure ! What hidden gem ! Wolf & Lisa and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly, very helpful as well as extremely knowledgeable of the area. My wife and I had a great time enjoying the camp store as well as the lake and the surrounding area. The campground was very well kept and clean we cant wait to make it back again. Thanks KOA
