The staff was efficient and pleasant to myself and my family! It's a well maintained and cared for campgrounds. Everyone had a great time!

This was our first KOA experience (ever) and we had no issues or concerns. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Sites and facilities were well kept. Kevin the Emu was a lot of fun to visit. Our site was spacious, well shaded, had water and was not on top of another site (which we prefer). We will definitely be returning and hope to explore the lake and other places nearby.

3rd time coming back and always already thinking about when we can come back again. The Camp is a hidden Gem, Staff are always friendly, lots of trees and shades. Bathroom/ shower is campground standard with warm water. Lots of places for kids to play. I love the mountain/hills area. Other campers are friendly and family type. I pass other KOA and Thousand trail Camp just to be here. Good Job!

Michelle was very helpful and was very great about answering our questions. We didn't show up until a couple hours after the store had closed and she dropped everything to assist us. Very beautiful and safe place to camp. My wife and I would love to come back! We were the happiest campers!

4/2021 Female cashier @ store wasn't wearing a mask. I gave her a chance to put it on, but it took some time. She put on a face shield only. Not the safest choice for customers in such a small space. The small communal bathrooms do not have signs requesting guests to wear face masks. There was no covid safety protocols posted anywhere on site. No staff were seen wearing masks.

The campground was great, and the host was very friendly. Kevin the emu was very friendly and quiet. I think our only complaint was staying near the RVs and the loud groups that were there, but that's to be expected.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They even had the Easter Bunny stop by the site Easter morning and leave a surprise, that was a great touch. Campground was super clean as well. Would definitely stay again!!!

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The campground was quiet and we had a wonderful campsite. facilities were well-maintained.The location is central to Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. Overall we had a great stay

The bathrooms and showers were very clean! There was also Wi-Fi, which worked pretty well as there was little/no telephone reception.

The owners were super sweet. The lovely lady that booked my res was Trying to get me into a spot with less stairs. And also at a decent rate for this almost senior. When I checked in the owners upgraded me to an even better site at a discount so I barely had any walk to the restrooms. The only drawback is it’s way up to site 22 and while it’s beautifully remote. We stayed in a tent site and enjoyed our stay very much. The office staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would stay again.

Great campground with a lot to do. Quiet and clean. Walking distance to the lake and really one of the best KOAs we have been to.

Camp was clean and quiet, and the tent sites were spaced apart much more than expected. The facilities were clean. We didn't use the recreation items due to COVID causing them to be closed. I'd stay here again.

We liked the grounds but a very loud and obnoxious group of people were allowed to carry on VERY loudly until 1pm. They started it back up the next night too. Also a guy below us (we think it was the maintenance or one of the camp host spaces lit up and smoked a cigarette on the picnic table Also got to take a semi cold shower on a very cold morning. Sadly we won’t be going back there

Very nice campground. The sites are well kept, the bathrooms are clean, and the staff are really friendly. Lots of cool amenities. There aren't any trails attached to the campground. You have to walk down the road about a half mile towards the lake to get to some trails.

We have camped at the Santa Margarita KOA for nearly 20 years at the same remote tenting site, and this camping experience never fails to satisfy! The grounds are super-clean and every aspect of the campground is well-maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. The terrain is gorgeous! We can hardly wait to buy our first travel trailer and experience lower sites in the campground!

Everything was perfect, from the initial call to the very friendly, helpful staff , to the point of arrival after hours which was very organized(can walkie-talkie to staff). Campsites impeccably clean, individual campsites (car can pull up right next to our tent on the sandy type earth.(many cabins also) Super quiet place, hilly forest with roads. Birds and stars. Looks to be great for kids also.

Loved this campsite; the pool was refreshing, the site was secluded and shady, the store was plenty stocked with everything I needed. I only wish I didn’t live so far away because I’d be back every weekend. Last but not least, the staff was very accomodating and actually hooked me up with a better site that was cheaper!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The park was well kept although sites aren’t very private. Everything at the store was overly expensive including wood and it was nearly impossible to find firewood to forage. Might give this place another try at a different site.

This was our first stay at a KOA and we loved all the amenities. The location was beautiful and close to the lake. However, the lack of Covid-19 precautions and protocols was a definite disappointment. No masks and little cleaning did make us uncomfortable.

It was a really nice experience for our whole family - my son lives in Concord & we live in LA - perfect 1/2 way meeting spot for us - it was a really beautiful area & the staff was really nice & helpful - we will probably visit again - thank you

This is our second time staying here, and we couldn't be happier! Everyone is welcoming and friendly, including our neighbors in the adjacent campsite. We were happy to see and feed Kevin the Emu again. Overall, the bathrooms were really clean and the campsite was pleasant. The weather was in the mid 90's one of the days, but the shade in the campsite made it bearable. Highly recommend!

Kim was awesome went out of her way to make sure I felt comfortable and safe while camping on my own. Really calm KOA not so hectic like a couple others I’ve been to.

Amazing Camping. A lot of to do with kids. So nice swimming pool and Zip Line area. I am recommend this a special at the week days!

5 stars for sure ! What hidden gem ! Wolf & Lisa and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly, very helpful as well as extremely knowledgeable of the area. My wife and I had a great time enjoying the camp store as well as the lake and the surrounding area. The campground was very well kept and clean we cant wait to make it back again. Thanks KOA
