To start after check in, nice escort from the management to show us where the cabin was located, at the cabin we were getting bit by gnats or fleas, anyways thru out the trip and mostly around the yellow couch we felt like we were being bitten to often, I found a wasp or hornet nest above patio door, wife said lets go home, SO WE LEFT EARLIER THAN EXPECTED, wasted vacation, not worth the expense.

Staff has improved. Better customer service at the front desk. More patrolling for uninvited or non-paid visitors which is a positive. Pool during height of summer is usually warm and sandy. Didn't enjoy getting a text about why I was late 1 hr checking out on our last day with park being so empty on a Sunday. Esp after a 3 month stay. Sites are overpriced compared to local competitors.

Our stay pleasant, staff friendly, kept us updated on weather changes. Our site needed repairs chair broken with pieces lying underneath and 6 sites that had lighting on deck did not light. Sorry to say some campers are not picking up after their dogs. Otherwise it was great and we will be back soon.

Everything was very nice. The cabin was very clean and all good

The KOA location is perfect. Away from busy area yet close enough to walk everywhere. There is free bus transportation by city. The KOA bathrooms are spacious and accommodating with plenty of showers and toilets. Toilets and showers needed to be cleaned more often during the day. It appears cleaning was minimal and only once. RV parking spaces are very tight and cramp No room to park your vehicle.

Our cabin smelled like mildew and there was mold at the shower base/floor. The floors were not “clean” when we arrived, there was dirty footprints all over. We were given a hard time about clean towels after our 4th day of using the same ones!! There was a rotten sewer smell in the bathroom and outside. The silverware drawer had what believe to be a mold/mildew all over. Our deck had no stairs

Our second stay and all was great just as before. Ramona at front office very helpful. The lady at front desk with short white hair and very friendly I spoke to quite often and think how lucky KOA is to have her on staff! She is from Ohio and her first name escapes me with ticks me off cuz I wanted to especially recognize her!!!!

The only thing, and don't get us wrong, we love this place and will definitely be back, we wish the water pressure in the cabin was better.

This campground is very convenient to both the vehicle on beach and public beaches. It has a restaurant, fishing and cruising options on site. We did the Dolphin Cruise for only $20! What a deal, we had the best time and they did not disappoint, we saw lots of dolphins!!! We visited twice within a 3 week period and will definately will return in the future!!!

We are work campers and this location and KOA were perfect for our next temporary home on our winter journey. Staffing is great and helpful. This was our first visit to South Padre and didn't know what to expect. This KOA was a perfect place to stay. This end of the island seems to be where the large RV parks are located. Isla Blanca Park is another large RV park located next door and run by Cameron county. Several smaller beach camping ares are also run by the county along State Park rd 100. South Padre island and Port Isabela have plenty of restaurants and services available in a short drive. Several fun attractions are just minutes away from the park. The weather was cold and rainy most of the week we camped at this KOA. Since we were work camping, the weather didn't really matter and we didn't get a chance to take advantage of many of the amenities. We did inspect those we didn't take advantage of. WiFi, laundry and shower facilities are distributed well throughout the park and worked well. Propane is also available on site and not at an overly inflated price. At the end of the pier is a good restaurant and several types of water excursions. Just wish we had more time and better weather to properly check it all out. Defiantly a place to stay longer than a week. The park is on the bay side of the island, has a lot of palm trees and quite pretty. One thing I thought was cool about the park is it seems to be built on an old water pumping station. I wasn't able to confirm this, but it looks like the office and community rooms are built inside old water reservoir tanks. The swimming pool seems to be built on an old outdoor water holding pool. Some large water distribution pipes protrude out of the ground in some areas and are integrated into the concept of the whole park. Very well done. Hope we can find our way to this KOA again.
