We had a great spot. Pool, bathrooms and entire park were well cared for. Has always been a great place to stay and enjoy the entire local area. Going back soon.

We rented one of the Studio Deluxe Cabins; perfect for 3 people. Efficient and friendly check-in; clean linens, soft pillows and plenty of towels. Having our own cabin plus private outdoor grilling & patio area was so much better than a hotel. Thanks to all at the South Padre KOA for a great getaway!

We arrived for a late check-in; found the paperwork for our location and got set up. We were in the spot right inside the entry gate, and it was a nice spot. We really enjoyed our stay. Laundry facilities were used and they were nice. The bathroom/Showers building was nice and clean. Staff friendly.

The staff was amazing, I was somewhat annoyed by the amount of traffic at the park. Also the gravel pad was nice to set tent up on but there were lots of stickers still. At $57 a night to camp I expected a little more

I have been coming to South Padre KOA with my children for the past 8 years, but the chances of our family returning again are slim to none! I reserved a cabin months in advance and paid approximately $800 for a 4 night stay. On the last day, the weather was so bad that I had to stay an additional night - the cost $335! Amenities were all closed yet I was charged excessively for 1 night in a cabin

Very friendly and accommodating. Having the Pier 19 restaurant there was a big boost. Being in a Class C, sometimes it’s hard to get around but having a restaurant on site was wonderful since it was pouring rain most of our stay.

Everyone there is totally awesome, Some things are just out of there control, the spaces are crowded, the gravel is terrible, thankfully I had a large rug I could double it to fit the space and cushion the gravel, this is not anything that would keep me Away, just saying it would be nice. The team there is truly amazing!!! Bravo on getting our areas electric on quickly when the transformer went

Let me give you the good points that I see in the KOA's..they are clean and the staff are very friendly. However, the RV sites are TINY! Too close for comfort! Our slide out was on the neighbors patio. I understand that the sites are to park your RV but come on...when you go camping you want to be able to BBQ outside your space and not have your neighbor right on top of your site. Thumbs down!!

Friendly staff and nice sites with a great view. We did have quite a bit of flooding due to the rain but it rained a lot!! We will definitely be back.

I stayed in one of the condos. We've SPIKOA customers 10 years. The toilets had a hard time flushing, our blinds were broken, & we left with all of our clothes & luggage smelling like mold because of the room's atmosphere. We usually stay in a cabin. I understand that this might be problems left by the old management. However, the new owners could use some work on their customer service skills.

"Under new management" was what we were told, no excuse for the rude behavior of employees. Absolutely no people skills, demanding things instead of asking politely. They would not allow our friends to join us at our site for a bbq. Turned them around and told them to leave. Pool is cloudy and green 24/7. Bathrooms are dirty. couldn't wait to leave. Seriously the staff ruined our vacation

Our stay was great, very friendly staff, and helpful. Definitely will be staying there in the future. I will highly recommend this to my family and friends. The only problem was power going out and 1 restroom stall in one of the restroom areas, other than that we had a great time. Thank you to all the staff.

The people working here are always nice. The fire ants were really bad on and near the playground, and our site which bordered the playground. I have seen other KOAs and they don't appear to be near so crowded. There was not enough room between our units to open up our awnings fully. We love the big pool and play ground for the kids. See you next summer most likely. Maybe sooner.

It was excellent, the staff was very friendly and always kept you updated with information on your stay via text…daily! For staying here the first time at a condo, it was a truly amazing experience. The pool was clean, the campground well Maintained and noise was down to a minimum in the late hours. All the folks staying in the park were friendly as well…we’ll be back…that’s for sure

We were put in a spot way to small, I could not even park my truck safely in our camping spot, had zero view of anything. I drove 8 hours to get there and was told to just take my money back and go home. Witch was rude and very unsafe if I did try and go home. I was told my trailer was bigger than I said when I made my reservation, but I had my dealership paperwork to prove I was telling the truth

From our understanding management has changed.. old management was more willing to accommodate our needs. All we ask and expect is to be placed in a site where our RV fits, our RV's dimensions are always included when making our reservation. We have stayed many times in the past and never had any problems with the sites we were assigned, but, lately our experience has been very disappointing...

Some of the staff were very rude about security. I understand it was 4th of July weekend and that they wanted to keep "the riff raff" (their words, not mine) out, but when my kids drove out to meet us, which I had informed the front office about and had already gotten a second car permit/wristbands for them, the staff member went out of her way to interrogate them and made them feel very unwelcome

The light went out 2 times when we were there. It’s a completely different environment now. Feels like all they do now is cruise around in there golf cart trying to catch someone not doing something according to the rules. The spot I had was way to small they need to do a better job of fitting in the right trailer with the proper size. There was smaller trailers that could have fit where I was.

We had the worst experience with the New Management by the name Tammy. Very Rude - I will be calling the corporate office and hopefully I can speak to someone that will listen and make a change. We have been staying at the Koa/SPI since 2009 but we will never return.

Site clean/well equipped- tight squeezes for big vehicles. Had issues with electric supply AND sewage lines during our stay- communicated by group texts. Use bus line or need Owncar- no beach close by- has a boat launch. Pool is small - soon got yucky due to lots of use. The pool stayed cloudy not clean The common play area /Rec room was not open again this year. That was a nice cool area where the family could play ping pong and have a work out up stairs. But the staff was great. Nice and friendly and the park area was clean.

Employees in the office are amazing. Cleaning crew did great as well. Pool staff seem lazy and absolutely no security or rules enforcement taking place. This KOA has a party atmosphere far from family friendly. The pool is out of control with drinking and cussing. Most people present did not have the required wrist band.

We are work campers and this location and KOA were perfect for our next temporary home on our winter journey. Staffing is great and helpful. This was our first visit to South Padre and didn't know what to expect. This KOA was a perfect place to stay. This end of the island seems to be where the large RV parks are located. Isla Blanca Park is another large RV park located next door and run by Cameron county. Several smaller beach camping ares are also run by the county along State Park rd 100. South Padre island and Port Isabela have plenty of restaurants and services available in a short drive. Several fun attractions are just minutes away from the park. The weather was cold and rainy most of the week we camped at this KOA. Since we were work camping, the weather didn't really matter and we didn't get a chance to take advantage of many of the amenities. We did inspect those we didn't take advantage of. WiFi, laundry and shower facilities are distributed well throughout the park and worked well. Propane is also available on site and not at an overly inflated price. At the end of the pier is a good restaurant and several types of water excursions. Just wish we had more time and better weather to properly check it all out. Defiantly a place to stay longer than a week. The park is on the bay side of the island, has a lot of palm trees and quite pretty. One thing I thought was cool about the park is it seems to be built on an old water pumping station. I wasn't able to confirm this, but it looks like the office and community rooms are built inside old water reservoir tanks. The swimming pool seems to be built on an old outdoor water holding pool. Some large water distribution pipes protrude out of the ground in some areas and are integrated into the concept of the whole park. Very well done. Hope we can find our way to this KOA again.
