We had a great time. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and the Pier 19 restaraunt. We look forward to visiting the South Padre KOA if we are in the area again.

They put us in a spot next to the swamp. Huge cockroaches were everywhere and rats too. They said they would spray but didn't. In fact they blew it off and said they were palmetto bugs. They had a shower at the pool with no drain...water pooled and was nasty and hot.

Loved the location! Close to the beach and water park which were high on our to do list. Loved the location of the condos! Close to parking and pool, deck & play area. Only complaints are: not all staff was friendly, dryer in Condo C didn’t dry (vent not even connected to wall or dryer itself) and our email said check in time was 12:00 so we showed up and was rudely told we couldn’t til 3:00.

What I was told wasn’t what we received. Can’t fish from the campground and packed in like sardines. Neighbors were up late hours and five feet from our camper partying. Would not recommend at all!

Cabin looked very old and not well maintained. The restroom door wouldn't lock and the A/C window unit was set to 62 yet it was still hot in cabin so I couldn't sleep well.

Great location to shops and food. Easy access and ample sites give it a good feel. Traveled with friends and made new ones! Pier 19 food was good and worth the wait.

I loved the cabin! The only thing was that the fridge took a whole day to cool but other than that it was all great! I love KOA! I have basically stayed in all the different sites they have and they are all wonderful.

There should be a stricter policy on the amount of people per cabin. Also quiet time at 10pm apparently means absolutely nothing and I couldn’t get any assistance with that at night. Apparently there was an after hours number that I was not made aware of until I finally got a response on my noise complaint the next day. The pool was very cloudy and full of dead bugs.

Surprising location on bay. Great friendly staff. Only complaint was water pressure in ladies showers was very low and water never got hot.

Our cabin Kl7 was clean especially bedding & towels. Starting to show signs of aging to the inside structure. Maybe just needs fresh paint....? Our grill had rusted broken legs & was unusable so we just used my sister's in cabin KL6. All easy fixes! Enjoyed our stay! Loved the curbside trash pickup! Landscape was clean! The location is beyond amazing and the fact that the pier is within walking distance is a plus. The spots are extremely tight and we couldn't get in and out with the truck. We had to bother the neighbors several times. The pool water was super green and filled with stuff from the trees. The place doesn't look that fancy like other KOAs we been to since we have a membership. But we did have a blast

The cabins were great and location perfect, only reason they didn't get 5 stars is they are definitely in need some maintenance. Several pieces of railing were broken and deck was warped to where you had to be careful where you stepped. The intake for the ac was FULL of lint and hair, I don't know how it was running properly. Other than that, was a nice stay.

The maintenance and office staff were great. Our breaker panel had a breaker burn up on our first night. They fixed it in a prompt manner and comped us a night for our first night issues with limited power. The main issue to report is that our AC unit in the main living area is super loud, making it difficult for people staying in the loft to sleep. The AC unit needs to be replaced ASAP.

The cabin wasn't cleaned good. It was something in the cabin that kept biting my whole family. One of the blankets smelled like urine.

We love this KOA! It is clean, easy to maneuver a motorhome through, and located in a very central part of the island. We had a Regal Row site and really enjoyed sitting outside on the paved patio and deck area in the mornings and evenings. Plus, this park is located centrally on the island. It only took three to fifteen minutes to drive to the majority of all attractions.

We enjoy this KOA very much. The cabin (with loft) is affordable and spacious for our family of four. The only reason I give it four stars is because the bedroom with the bunk beds is not habitable. There is not AC in the room and so it gets up into the 90s. My kids woke up and we’re drenched in sweat. Unfortunately we had the choice of setting them up in the loft. Otherwise, we enjoy this KOA.

We had a great time at this camp site just wish we had a little bit bigger site pad to fit my truck and fifth wheel. The neighbor next to us complain about parking to close to there site and had to move our truck in front of our side door to the trailer. That gave us a little room to move around. The site were very nice and thanks to the staff for helping us out with a flat tire, very nice staff.

We are work campers and this location and KOA were perfect for our next temporary home on our winter journey. Staffing is great and helpful. This was our first visit to South Padre and didn't know what to expect. This KOA was a perfect place to stay. This end of the island seems to be where the large RV parks are located. Isla Blanca Park is another large RV park located next door and run by Cameron county. Several smaller beach camping ares are also run by the county along State Park rd 100. South Padre island and Port Isabela have plenty of restaurants and services available in a short drive. Several fun attractions are just minutes away from the park. The weather was cold and rainy most of the week we camped at this KOA. Since we were work camping, the weather didn't really matter and we didn't get a chance to take advantage of many of the amenities. We did inspect those we didn't take advantage of. WiFi, laundry and shower facilities are distributed well throughout the park and worked well. Propane is also available on site and not at an overly inflated price. At the end of the pier is a good restaurant and several types of water excursions. Just wish we had more time and better weather to properly check it all out. Defiantly a place to stay longer than a week. The park is on the bay side of the island, has a lot of palm trees and quite pretty. One thing I thought was cool about the park is it seems to be built on an old water pumping station. I wasn't able to confirm this, but it looks like the office and community rooms are built inside old water reservoir tanks. The swimming pool seems to be built on an old outdoor water holding pool. Some large water distribution pipes protrude out of the ground in some areas and are integrated into the concept of the whole park. Very well done. Hope we can find our way to this KOA again.
