Very tight spots, cable does not work, bathrooms are old and broken down, very limited access. Office staff were very helpful, grounds staff indifferent. Next time will try county park instead.

fine, except it was noisy.

The cabin we stayed at was well maintained and clean. It had all the amenities we needed and we loved the location on the bay. The only down side was unable to sleep because of all the fire engines and police cars. We stayed up watching the Pier 19 restaurant burn to the ground.

Tried to make a week or so reservation early for winter camp and stated full call back. Checked in January and they had a site. Many empty sites while there so wonder if a better method of reservation taking. Nice clean camp and well kept. People in camp were very friendly. Pool was nice and roads in great shape.

Loved the location. Sites super close together, but c’est la vie!

Great place to stay to enjoy the island.

Great place just by Pier 19! Friendly and smiling staff all around. The buildings are in fact recycled water reservoirs from the city of SPI! Smart and artistic! Special mention to Dottie at the main desk. Always eager to answer our questions with a warm smile.

Please, please, please put in paved sidewalk out of the campground so we aren't competing with all the traffic going in and out of the campground!! Other than that we absolutely love it here!

We stayed in a motorhome for a week. Our space was located along drive into park and this was so much better than the spaces inside the park as spaces are very close with very tight corners for turning big rigs.

Clean campground with very friendly staff. The spaces are really close together. No room to hang out at your campsite.

Great RV resort! Close to restaurants, entertainment, fuel, and groceries. Very friendly and helpful staff. Discount at Pier 19 was valuable as we had breakfast there almost every morning. Will definitely be back sometime and refer this KOA to our RV friends.

It’s in a good location. Staff is very friendly. Enjoyed our stay. The shower facilities were sub par. If not for the facilities it’s an easy 8. But they’re mediocre at best!!

We just did not enjoy the lack of green space. The only place for our dog was across a busy street into a mud filled dog park. Which the winter Texans prefer you do not use when they are there. The dog lot was mud for 6 days. Only day one had rain. We were asked to turn off our lights that I used to walk my dog at night when every camper in the place had lights on. Staff nice people not

Site navigation was difficult. Campground drainage needs work. Unfortunately we had weather that was uncooperative. Staff were extremely helpful and cooperative. Can’t say enough good things about them.

Awesome location, landscaping and staff. Could not ask for a better RV park in South Padre Island.

The big blue buildings are so full of the smell of black mold that we were unable to use them which really negatively affected our stay. It’s incredibly unhealthy to have people inside buildings containing that much black mold. Your employees probably have serious health complications from working in those unsafe conditions. We will not be back.

We could only stay for a short time but we felt as if we were long lost friends. Everyone was very happy to be there.

Nice clean campground with a very accommodating staff. We ending up staying an extra week because of bad weather back home. The staff was great in accommodating us to stay longer. We had a great time and plan on returning again.

Its a beautiful place with great location. Larry was very helpful getting us parked betweenthe palm trees!

Very nice!

The best part was not having to drive through the park when we left. The worst part was having to drive through the park when we arrived. Big rigs barely fit. Second worst was being on the main road in. The amount of traffic was crazy. We loved South Padre Island and would likely stay again if we returned.

We were scheduled in a site to arrive December 4th.We had to adjust our travel to arrive on the 1st due to their record. Also the site changed. Our site was flooded much of the time.Because of weather north we inquired about staying an extra week. They were unwilling to work with us. After a 2 month stay they were charging a nightly rate.We talked to others that their rate was prorated.Bad management

Very clean and great staff. I enjoyed walking to the beach, bike riding downtown Padre and local eats! All were close to the campground. We drive a 40 footer with a toad. Easy in, easy out with plenty of room for turns. Camp sites are on top of each other, so you better like your neighbors! It is a great area and we are looking forward to returning. Eat at Pier 19-it's a short walk & great!

Too many negatives to list. Top issues - management missing in action, sites way too narrow, and to top it off a KOA Worker smoking (numerous times) standing right by the large propane tank station which sign reads “NO SMOKING”. Good stuff by the gulf and Pier 19 Restaurant on property.

The Staff Made our stay the greatest

My only complaint was that the times I tried to take a shower the water began hot but then turned cold. I hate cold showers.

The park is great except it needs to work on its drainage issue. it rained and our site was Waterlogged. We Could not walk around the park on our street Because of the large pool of water. The other streets were good, But all sites should have good drainage since the price is so high “during the season”.

The service was great and the people were friendly and helpful but the showers needed remodeling! They weren’t cleaned well, the shower heads were too tall so water went everywhere including on your clean dry clothes and shoes. There was also a lot of standing water after rains. Activities, ice & propane service was great!

We are work campers and this location and KOA were perfect for our next temporary home on our winter journey. Staffing is great and helpful. This was our first visit to South Padre and didn't know what to expect. This KOA was a perfect place to stay. This end of the island seems to be where the large RV parks are located. Isla Blanca Park is another large RV park located next door and run by Cameron county. Several smaller beach camping ares are also run by the county along State Park rd 100. South Padre island and Port Isabela have plenty of restaurants and services available in a short drive. Several fun attractions are just minutes away from the park. The weather was cold and rainy most of the week we camped at this KOA. Since we were work camping, the weather didn't really matter and we didn't get a chance to take advantage of many of the amenities. We did inspect those we didn't take advantage of. WiFi, laundry and shower facilities are distributed well throughout the park and worked well. Propane is also available on site and not at an overly inflated price. At the end of the pier is a good restaurant and several types of water excursions. Just wish we had more time and better weather to properly check it all out. Defiantly a place to stay longer than a week. The park is on the bay side of the island, has a lot of palm trees and quite pretty. One thing I thought was cool about the park is it seems to be built on an old water pumping station. I wasn't able to confirm this, but it looks like the office and community rooms are built inside old water reservoir tanks. The swimming pool seems to be built on an old outdoor water holding pool. Some large water distribution pipes protrude out of the ground in some areas and are integrated into the concept of the whole park. Very well done. Hope we can find our way to this KOA again.
