Needs quite a bit of work. The deluxe cabin was not nice

I was disappointed in the "Luxury" cabin. I spilled a partial bottle of water on the floor right after arrival and when I wiped it up the paper towel; was very dirty. I'm not sure when the floor was last mopped but I can assure you it was not before we arrived. We hated walking on the floor after seeing how dirty it was. The air conditioner had a very hard time keeping up with the humidity

The only disappointment was the Pier 19 Restaurant which I don't believe is even affiliated with you.

Front desk staff was wonderful. Few sites with enough space for 42 ft pusher towing. Easy access just South of the Causeway.

Wonderful!! Customer service was excellent. Everyone was nice and helpful! Site was wonderful, view of the bay! I wish we could’ve stayed forever! I would highly recommend it to everyone!

Enjoyed our stay very much and had a wonderful time! Only improvement suggestion would be to maybe have a few more kitchen amenities such as cooking utensils & pots/pans. Also verify in list of cabin amenities that a full kitchen doesn't include an oven...we are a larger group and tend to cook a lot of meals. We managed with what was available and had a wonderful family vacation. Thank you! .

It satisfied the purpose of our trip and stay. We found the staff extremely helpful. The conditions of our studio cottage unit was clean and comfortable.

Sites way to close together. Friendly. We felt that it could be cleaned up. All in all we enjoyed our stay and if we are in the vicinity again, would love to come back

Things that we like: Close to the ocean. Clean, tidy, well maintained campground. 25 meter pool and most important, a lovely, caring team / staff. They could not be nicer nor do a better job. They feel like family and I am glad to be lucky enough to stay there. Judy Cockburn

We really enjoyed the park. Nice pool/hottub. Sites spacious and everything well kept. Laundry and shower facilities very clean.

Too many issues. Front desk not friendly, Toilet does not work, internet does not work in the Loft, Pungent sulfur smell on the waterfront cabin. The pool and hot tub not clean.

Speed bumps are too big and the spots are kind of tight for a big motor home. Also don't care for the large rock in the sights but were satisfied with the stay.

One of the employees, I believe it was Shane, helped me with a temporary patch after I ran over a nail on the island. Then I got over the bridge to get a permanent repair. Thank you for service above and beyond expectations!

All the staff were friendly and willing to help in every way. The campground was well maintained, clean and beautiful. While we were there we ran out of gas, the staff picked up our bottles refilled them and brought them back to us (talk about service) that was great. Laundry rooms (there are 2) are kept clean and plenty of washers and dryers. We have already reserved our stay for next year.

Site was beautiful and well maintained. Staff was friendly. We were there and there were high winds and the staff were constantly cleaning the blown debris.

Great stay property was clean. And quiet. Would be nice to have fire rings for people to have a bon fire with their family.

The first spot the staff gave us was VERY disappointing. After revisiting the office, the attendant gladly moved us to a new requested space. We were completely happy with our stay after getting a new spot. Pier 19 was very close walking distance, which had very good service and food.

Stayed in Cabin KS21. Bathtub had bad crack in bottom and toilet tended to run unless you took the tank cover off and pulled on the chain. We have always had good luck staying in KOA Cabins but I would have to say this was the worst so far. We should have asked for a different cabin but tolerated it for the 4 nights we were there. Please have someone do a proper repair before we stay again.

The KOA is convenient to where I wanted to go. I do think it ridiculous to charge $25 to reserve a specific site. The sites are small and gravel. I prefer concrete or asphalt.

Always enjoy the convenience. However, please explain how a $25 fee can possibly be justified to request a specific site? That is extreme. There's no cost to the park; only a satisfied customer! Happy camper?

Campground very clean and beautiful, natural atmosphere with the palms and tropical plants. Staff friendly and willing to help in every way. Have reserved our site for next year. Yee Ha !!

South Padre KOA is one of the best if not the best KOA ever. It is spotless, sites are large and well organized and the personnel first rate. They provided Thanksgiving dinner free of charge and it was great. Ignore any negative comments for entitled campers, this place is wonderful !!!

Enjoy the stay. We like the fact that we were so close to the beach. We enjoyed the restaurant on site and all the stores on the strip. We will be back in the spring . Thank you all and have a Merry Christmas

The park and showers were very nice and clean. Security was an issue: a shady couple with a flat tire were allowed to drive through the park asking residents for assistance. When it was brought to the attention of the staff they acknowledged their presence and did nothing. I feel they should have prevented them from entering the park.

It was great to see all the amenities that come with the stay! Washer and Dryer area, separate bathroom and showers if needed. Easy hook up! The best Restraunt on the island pier19. Friendly and playful staff. Great all around stay!

Great KOA! Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The Thanksgiving spread was wonderful. We enjoyed the large spot and patio we had. The park was very clean!

We are work campers and this location and KOA were perfect for our next temporary home on our winter journey. Staffing is great and helpful. This was our first visit to South Padre and didn't know what to expect. This KOA was a perfect place to stay. This end of the island seems to be where the large RV parks are located. Isla Blanca Park is another large RV park located next door and run by Cameron county. Several smaller beach camping ares are also run by the county along State Park rd 100. South Padre island and Port Isabela have plenty of restaurants and services available in a short drive. Several fun attractions are just minutes away from the park. The weather was cold and rainy most of the week we camped at this KOA. Since we were work camping, the weather didn't really matter and we didn't get a chance to take advantage of many of the amenities. We did inspect those we didn't take advantage of. WiFi, laundry and shower facilities are distributed well throughout the park and worked well. Propane is also available on site and not at an overly inflated price. At the end of the pier is a good restaurant and several types of water excursions. Just wish we had more time and better weather to properly check it all out. Defiantly a place to stay longer than a week. The park is on the bay side of the island, has a lot of palm trees and quite pretty. One thing I thought was cool about the park is it seems to be built on an old water pumping station. I wasn't able to confirm this, but it looks like the office and community rooms are built inside old water reservoir tanks. The swimming pool seems to be built on an old outdoor water holding pool. Some large water distribution pipes protrude out of the ground in some areas and are integrated into the concept of the whole park. Very well done. Hope we can find our way to this KOA again.
