The aircon can not make the small room colder. Even at the double bed room, it does not get cold even at night time...

The porch and views are great. The sleeper sofa mattress was dry rotted and was just springs! Cabin needs storage. 3-drawer chest X 2 would be so helpful to put your stuff in. There is no where to put your belongs except on the floor. Water hose outside to wash off beach items. Trash dumpsters were so full-flies were everywhere and no way to keep them from coming inside. Mold in shower area.

Our cabin was a nightmare!! It was FILLED with CIGARETTE SMOKE!!! We arrived late Monday pm & Bruce was very nice, he tried to get us into another cabin, he told the lady in charge, she gave us a can of spray & said the crew would be there the next morning and NO ONE EVER SHOWED or checked on us!! The amount of light shining in @ pm was stupid, & the cabin was �� We won't ever stay in your cabin

We vacationed there with both our daughters and their families. The air conditioning stopped working in one cabin for a day and management refunded all 3 days in May that unit! Great customer service!

Awful- sewer stunk everyday outside and inside my cabin . I complained and she blamed it on mangroves, no it was sewer. Bed and mattress cover had blood stain. Hairs all over blanket in bed that were not ours. Not very clean. Pool was gross and cloudy. I would like a partial refund for one night in each cabin.

Overall was a good stay. Two things was a bad experience. First was the security lady questioning and harassing me if I’m in the right place, if I belong here, if I hit the parking pole, and assuming I stole my 5 year old beach kart from someone in the park because it looked the same. Also what’s with all the gnats in the room? So many gnats. Other than that, everything was awesome!

When I got to the cabin it was infested with flies and mosquitoes. It was not very clean. Only the main bedroom bed was made. The garbage from the restaurant was right by the cabins. I had to run from the car to the cabin because of the mosquitoes and flies. They should at least have put filters on the AC units. And clean the rooms more thorough. And move the garbage away.

The cabin was just right in size for our needs, the linens were clean, it had everything we needed, and the K-Cups were a great touch. We will be back for sure.

Staff were very un organized & unprepared when our party arrived. Had to do some running around with workers to get our complete bracelets. The place was VERY crowded & parking absolutely sucked!

The only opportunity is the size of AC in the cabin was to small in the main room, had to buy a fan for bunk room for kids to stay kool. Other than that it was clean and well care for park. Would be better to add a fishing pier for park guest only in the bay

We stayed because of the water towers condos and beach access! Great novelty! Staff is fabulous! Very safe! Fully stocked kitchen. Condos needs sprucing: black mold in bathroom vents & water temp control issues & outside door lock sticks. Rental rate is too high; flat rate + per person. But, you cannot beat the beach access! Overall, good vacation.

The location is great and staff was nice. But I couldn’t get over the uncleanliness of the cabin, especially given the COVID times we’re in. Every wall had weird drips/stains, the TV remote was crusty and sticky, honestly I didn’t want to touch anything. No instructions for checkout, and the pool was closed 2 days we tried to go. It was a great value but at the expense of cleanliness.

We rented one of the Studio Deluxe Cabins; perfect for 3 people. Efficient and friendly check-in; clean linens, soft pillows and plenty of towels. Having our own cabin plus private outdoor grilling & patio area was so much better than a hotel. Thanks to all at the South Padre KOA for a great getaway!

I have been coming to South Padre KOA with my children for the past 8 years, but the chances of our family returning again are slim to none! I reserved a cabin months in advance and paid approximately $800 for a 4 night stay. On the last day, the weather was so bad that I had to stay an additional night - the cost $335! Amenities were all closed yet I was charged excessively for 1 night in a cabin

I stayed in one of the condos. We've SPIKOA customers 10 years. The toilets had a hard time flushing, our blinds were broken, & we left with all of our clothes & luggage smelling like mold because of the room's atmosphere. We usually stay in a cabin. I understand that this might be problems left by the old management. However, the new owners could use some work on their customer service skills.

It was excellent, the staff was very friendly and always kept you updated with information on your stay via text…daily! For staying here the first time at a condo, it was a truly amazing experience. The pool was clean, the campground well Maintained and noise was down to a minimum in the late hours. All the folks staying in the park were friendly as well…we’ll be back…that’s for sure

We had the worst experience with the New Management by the name Tammy. Very Rude - I will be calling the corporate office and hopefully I can speak to someone that will listen and make a change. We have been staying at the Koa/SPI since 2009 but we will never return.

We honestly didn't do much within the park, but the cabins were nice and well equipped. It is located in a great part of the island and it's easy to get to. They were comfortable for my family of 4.

Everything was very clean great stay over all. The only suggestion I would have would be to replace AC unit in the common area the loft and the twin set room because it got pretty hot in the afternoon.

The cabin had 3 ac units that ran constantly but the only room that felt cool was the bedroom with the full bed, the rest of the cabin felt warm and the room with the bunk beds and restroom were hot. The exhaust fan in the restroom did not work and only one light in there worked which indicates neglect. The top of fridge and higher shelf was dusty and dirty. The swimming pool was dirty. VERY POOR

It was incredible and we will be back! We especially appreciated the friendly and professional attitudes that each staff member had. Our waterfront cabin was perfect for our family and especially enjoyed the evenings sitting on our private patio near the water.

First off, I had asked for an 8 person house and got a 4 person one.. So we ended up spending over $1000 to be able to stay in two places when we were all supposed to stay together..

We are work campers and this location and KOA were perfect for our next temporary home on our winter journey. Staffing is great and helpful. This was our first visit to South Padre and didn't know what to expect. This KOA was a perfect place to stay. This end of the island seems to be where the large RV parks are located. Isla Blanca Park is another large RV park located next door and run by Cameron county. Several smaller beach camping ares are also run by the county along State Park rd 100. South Padre island and Port Isabela have plenty of restaurants and services available in a short drive. Several fun attractions are just minutes away from the park. The weather was cold and rainy most of the week we camped at this KOA. Since we were work camping, the weather didn't really matter and we didn't get a chance to take advantage of many of the amenities. We did inspect those we didn't take advantage of. WiFi, laundry and shower facilities are distributed well throughout the park and worked well. Propane is also available on site and not at an overly inflated price. At the end of the pier is a good restaurant and several types of water excursions. Just wish we had more time and better weather to properly check it all out. Defiantly a place to stay longer than a week. The park is on the bay side of the island, has a lot of palm trees and quite pretty. One thing I thought was cool about the park is it seems to be built on an old water pumping station. I wasn't able to confirm this, but it looks like the office and community rooms are built inside old water reservoir tanks. The swimming pool seems to be built on an old outdoor water holding pool. Some large water distribution pipes protrude out of the ground in some areas and are integrated into the concept of the whole park. Very well done. Hope we can find our way to this KOA again.
