We camped for a month at site 171. This is our 5th year. We like our neighbors, the staff is very friendly and my wife and I love the workout room and commons area especially on windy days which are many. The only odd thing was the presence of mosquitos. Never encountered that before.

We enjoyed our first stay at KOA in SPI. The park is clean and well kept and the staff was friendly and helpful. We appreciated the daily curbside trash pick-up! We also liked and utilized the dog park and walking area for our dog Baxter.

Our stay was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The grounds we well kept and we’ll organized. The only thing that needs improvement is the WiFi….it is very weak. For the daily cost of the site, it should be much better!

The main showerhouse is dated and inadequate for the size of the campground. It has only one commode and one of the (only) two urinals was out of order. The staff did keep it clean but with those minimal facilities it was below my normal KOA expectations. As I understand it, this campground is corporate owned (not a franchise). If so, KOA should do better.

We always enjoy our stay at SPI KOA. This was our sixth year staying at SPI KOA. The KOA new management team is much more strick this year. That is good and bad, but they need to provide printed rules to the campers vs driving around and just telling campers "NO". i.e., if RV washing is only permitted on certain days, let the campers know upfront. WiFi did not work very well this year.

Staff was helpful and friendly! Everything was kept very clean! Only complaint was our site was super tight!!

Needs better drainage as our campsite held a lot of water when it rained. The dog turnout pen needs to be enlarged. Staff was friendly. It's too bad the campsites are so crowded for larger campers. Many had difficulty maneuvering into place. Overall it was enjoyable.

Customer service is not what used to be. Would have been nice if they provided a slot with the same amenities that we had the two previous years. I heard they fired someone who was messing with the slot selection, but that should have not been a problem we generated. They also billed us the type of lot we had. We had to go to office to get a correction. Also was told they would put us o

it was a good stay. The weather was not as good but not the parks fault. The sites are a bit tight to get into but the spacing is ok. The staff is fantastic and helpful. always around busy maintaining the park. Good areas to walk.

We stayed at the campgrounds for two weeks in February. We were pleased with the cleanliness and upkeep of the grounds. All of the staff we met were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Two suggestions. The laundry rooms are too small for the number of sites and dog park is too small to be of much use. There is a very limited area to walk dogs within the park.

We are regular customers and were Very Surprised that the rates were Extremely Raised. We went ahead and made a Monthly reservation for May 2022 which cost us about 185% more than in our previous stays. Seems everyone making current reservations has to make up for the lower fees being provided to those who were staying there for long extended periods....Not fair to us.

While the artic freeze kept us from enjoying the outdoors, we were very pleased with the KOA and will stay there again. They greet you, escort you to your site and help you park. Communication is excellent…and text messages are used to update you on happenings and answer questions. Wi-Fi works GREAT! Trash is picked up from your site daily and restroom and showers are very clean.

Very tight spots, cable does not work, bathrooms are old and broken down, very limited access. Office staff were very helpful, grounds staff indifferent. Next time will try county park instead.

fine, except it was noisy.

Tried to make a week or so reservation early for winter camp and stated full call back. Checked in January and they had a site. Many empty sites while there so wonder if a better method of reservation taking. Nice clean camp and well kept. People in camp were very friendly. Pool was nice and roads in great shape.

Loved the location. Sites super close together, but c’est la vie!

Great place to stay to enjoy the island.

Great place just by Pier 19! Friendly and smiling staff all around. The buildings are in fact recycled water reservoirs from the city of SPI! Smart and artistic! Special mention to Dottie at the main desk. Always eager to answer our questions with a warm smile.

Please, please, please put in paved sidewalk out of the campground so we aren't competing with all the traffic going in and out of the campground!! Other than that we absolutely love it here!

We stayed in a motorhome for a week. Our space was located along drive into park and this was so much better than the spaces inside the park as spaces are very close with very tight corners for turning big rigs.

Clean campground with very friendly staff. The spaces are really close together. No room to hang out at your campsite.

Great RV resort! Close to restaurants, entertainment, fuel, and groceries. Very friendly and helpful staff. Discount at Pier 19 was valuable as we had breakfast there almost every morning. Will definitely be back sometime and refer this KOA to our RV friends.

It’s in a good location. Staff is very friendly. Enjoyed our stay. The shower facilities were sub par. If not for the facilities it’s an easy 8. But they’re mediocre at best!!

We just did not enjoy the lack of green space. The only place for our dog was across a busy street into a mud filled dog park. Which the winter Texans prefer you do not use when they are there. The dog lot was mud for 6 days. Only day one had rain. We were asked to turn off our lights that I used to walk my dog at night when every camper in the place had lights on. Staff nice people not

Site navigation was difficult. Campground drainage needs work. Unfortunately we had weather that was uncooperative. Staff were extremely helpful and cooperative. Can’t say enough good things about them.

Awesome location, landscaping and staff. Could not ask for a better RV park in South Padre Island.

We stayed 3 days and had a wonderful experience. Clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again on our next trip.

Very cold very windy but I had a blast at bingo.
Feb 05, 2022
The big blue buildings are so full of the smell of black mold that we were unable to use them which really negatively affected our stay. It’s incredibly unhealthy to have people inside buildings containing that much black mold. Your employees probably have serious health complications from working in those unsafe conditions. We will not be back.

We are work campers and this location and KOA were perfect for our next temporary home on our winter journey. Staffing is great and helpful. This was our first visit to South Padre and didn't know what to expect. This KOA was a perfect place to stay. This end of the island seems to be where the large RV parks are located. Isla Blanca Park is another large RV park located next door and run by Cameron county. Several smaller beach camping ares are also run by the county along State Park rd 100. South Padre island and Port Isabela have plenty of restaurants and services available in a short drive. Several fun attractions are just minutes away from the park. The weather was cold and rainy most of the week we camped at this KOA. Since we were work camping, the weather didn't really matter and we didn't get a chance to take advantage of many of the amenities. We did inspect those we didn't take advantage of. WiFi, laundry and shower facilities are distributed well throughout the park and worked well. Propane is also available on site and not at an overly inflated price. At the end of the pier is a good restaurant and several types of water excursions. Just wish we had more time and better weather to properly check it all out. Defiantly a place to stay longer than a week. The park is on the bay side of the island, has a lot of palm trees and quite pretty. One thing I thought was cool about the park is it seems to be built on an old water pumping station. I wasn't able to confirm this, but it looks like the office and community rooms are built inside old water reservoir tanks. The swimming pool seems to be built on an old outdoor water holding pool. Some large water distribution pipes protrude out of the ground in some areas and are integrated into the concept of the whole park. Very well done. Hope we can find our way to this KOA again.
