Loud trains and planes. We drove around the campground two times because there wasn't enough light on the individual sites. My wife finally had to get out of our RV and walk around to see the site numbers. It was dark outside as we were late arrival.

This campsite was perfect for a weekend get away to see our daughter. It was clean. Site was level. Had plenty to do at the site. Loved that it had dog parks.

Great place, unfortunately had bad neighbors that had us decide to leave early. Our dogs barked while we were gone(only 2 hours) and we got complaints. They were safe inside our camper and it was midday. Not at night while people we’re trying to sleep. This KOA is dog friendly which is why we have stayed here before. We were made to feel uncomfortable and didn’t feel we could go into town agai

Campground was clean and neat. Staff was professional and friendly. We were lucky enough to get the last space open for the day. Only complaint is the campground is near an airport and more importantly very close to a rail line. Trains coming through at night sounded as though the were running through our RV.

I've stayed at KOAs all over the U.S. and this one, with if's friendly and helpful staff is one of the best. I'll be back in April.

Other reviewers talked about the airplane and train noise. Running the A/C for background noise almost makes it not noticeable. Conveniently located and easy to access major roads for access to Springfield and surrounding towns. We stayed 3 nights for the Apple Butter Making Days event going on in Mt. Vernon, MO and for visiting relatives. Suggest management do some serious tree trimming.

Trains, flooding, green pool, falling acorns, falling walnuts, 3pcs of firewood for over $7, allows transient tent camping, front office doesn’t care.

This is our 2nd stay at this KOA. It is a very clean campground and very quiet. Great place to stay with family, kids and/or pets. We will definitely stay here again!

We were 1st time RVers trying out our new class A motorhome so I wasn't entirely sure how the hook ups worked. Eli went above and beyond to ensure we were hooked up correctly. I didn't have some of the necessary attachments to hook up and Eli not only showed me what I needed he gave me a ride back to the store onsite to get the parts needed.. Tons of shade, kids loved the gem mining.

It was awesome. The people are very nice. Helped when I had questions(I’m a rookie)..lol Recommended solutions when needed. The train wasn’t bad at all. Never woke me up. Showers and bathrooms were very clean. I would highly recommend it..:)

The campground overall is very nice. Lot’s of activities and close to nearby attractions. Some site leveling and tree trimming for Class A’s would be a benefit much appreciated!

Camping spot are to close to each other. A train is no more than 100 yards from the camp grounds and it runs through out the night (VERY LOUD) no sleep. IF YOU LIKE A PEACEFUL PLACE TO SET BACK AND ENJOY THE CAMPFIRE THIS IS NOT THE PLACE.

Our stay was only for one night and we didn't use any amenities. However, we did have our propane filled and that process was very convenient. Our site was gravel, but was level so we didn't need to unhitch which made it easier for our departure in the morning. We would definitely come back and stay longer.

This is a very well run and kept park. If you like planes, trains and automobiles this is your place, if you like quiet it’s not the place. We were there overnight and it was perfect.

We were very disappointed. Reserved 2 1/2 months ahead of time. The site was not level in any direction & required 5" of blocks. Gravel was inadequate - most was under the belly. It rained & we had to park in the mud & pick our way into the RV. Walnuts bombed our roof & knocked a hole in the AC cover.This isn't a cheap campground - expected better upkeep throughout the grounds.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Beautiful, quiet campground. Only downside is that it is near a railroad (I'm an extremely light sleeper), but that will definitely not keep us from being a return camper to this cute little location.

We stayed for several nights. The people were very friendly. It was always packed with people, but all the huge beautiful trees made it seem like there weren’t that many people around. This KOA is one of my top two!!
