Small, but quiet park. Free cookie and dog treat at check in. Short looped walking path right outside campground in El Mapais. Very nice, big deluxe concrete patio site with new barbecue, 6 chairs, table and fire pit.

Shabby campsite in need of upgrades. Very noisy with planes and trains and way too many outdoor lights.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Not sure what guest means by shabby sites. Our sites all have city water/sewer, 50/30 amp connections very clean and level.

The dump site on36 backed up & made a mess. I thru out my boots. It must have happened to someone before us also TP was all over the ground around site. We throw TP in trash.

Good accommodations overall. Can't do much about it, but dusty and noisy (airport). Still, I'd stay there again overnight.

Not much as far as trees or grass but it was all very clean and in good order! Spot was level. Near airport and train tracks but noise not obnoxious. Staff super friendly and helpful! Will stay again.

2 night stay. Nice, safe place to camp. Clean laundry and restrooms. Staff was very friendly as always.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The grounds and facilities were clean. Bathrooms were very nice and heated too.

some of the rules that they have are a little funky. I was a little unhappy with how fast everyone drove in the park, not the big class A's as much as the 5th wheels and class C, ALSO THE KOA CREW that drove through out the park like they were going to a fire, I think of little children running\playing, pets accidently get loose.It was also a little dusty due to all the traffic.

We have rules and people still dont follow them obviously. Not sure guest understands how difficult it is when no one wants rules but even more so, wont follow the rules.

Everything was great and the cabin and common areas were very clean. The only suggestion would be to keep the store open a little later and open up a little earlier. We would certainly stay here again!

Quite aways from i-40. Haven't had propane for over 2 years. Broken 1 year, then no person to pump, then lack of licence.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Weve had propane since April. The people that can pump it just happened to take a couple MUCH NEEDED days off. During guests stay. Loves travel stop 2 miles on your way to and from I-40 fills propane 24/7.

Facilities mostly clean & adequate. Cabin nice, but short distance away was large dumpster that had foul odor during hot part of day. Was convenient to Rte 40 so good overall one night stop.

This was a good place to stop. Thensite was tight but was fine for what we needed. They picked up and filled our propane tank and delivered it back to us in record time. Staff was helpful and friendly

Loved that this KOA had arrangements with one of the local great restaurants to have a service come pick you up and bring you back for driver tips. Restaurant was awesome, food and service great!

We were there during a high wind warning and they gave us a late checkout so that we wouldn't need to drive in the wind! Very accommodating!

Stayed 2 times on the last trip - once on our way to Colorado and once on our way back. Both were great with easy check-in and check out and the facilities were great!

They cancelled my limo ride and the reason I came to your koa again was to the steakhouse. Not coming back.

The limo ride was not cancelled. It was postponed because the limo you were supposed to have got in a very bad accident while driving the previous party. Hope everyone is okay.

This was our first big adventure with our trailer, so we really didn't know what to expect. We were really impressed with all the camp grounds we stayed at. The Amarillo KOA was our first stop & it was really nice to be greeted & the check in process was very easy & they led us to our spot that we had reserved. Thank you all.

This was our 2nd year staying here and didn't recall the trains being so busy last year. Staff is outstanding and location very convenient. Thank You!!

We only stayed one night, but the campground is very well maintained, the bathrooms were VERY clean, and well maintained. Has a nice playground, and there is plenty of room in the campsites. The roads are dirt, and I could see it being dusty on a windy day, but in this part of Texas, dust is just part of the deal, so I'm not faulting the KOA for that. We stay in a lot of KOA's and for a Journey, this one is definitely worth returning to.
