Stayed two nights to see the area. Staff is super friendly and helpful, facilities are clean and nice.

Didn’t love the area-didn’t feel like I really “saw” Amarillo. The campground itself was nice enough with very friendly people.

Not very welcoming. Recieved a text early day of arrival. Saying not to check in before 3pm. Park was empty upon arrival.. Got text early day if check out saying be checked out by 11am. At Eufaula OK KOA now. They welcomed us early and said anytime.

Sorry we have rules. Not to make guests miserable, but to make workers lives a little easier and the park nicer.

On the pro side, our site was level, internet access via Verizon was great, and the young man who checked me in was very friendly. On the con side, the park is located in a neighborhood of run down houses and has both active train tracks and an airport very nearby (ie: it's noisy). The park itself isn't much more than a large area of gravel and dirt. Sites are close together.

About as bad as any one could ever say. The place is a disaster. The people working there are very nice, but the property is pathetic. Dirt, worn out gravel, old tables, everything looks like a 3rd world junk yard. I don’t know how KOA can keep it on their listing. Someone from corporate KOA should go do a review on it and see if it is not up to their standards. Never again.

Should be more like the Planes, Trains, and Highway trucks KOA. Glad we only had one night booked. Facilities were nice, but not a relaxing environment. Unless train horns, airplane, and big truck sounds, day and night is your thing, may want to consider something else.

I’ve stayed at this KOA Multiple times it’s always clean bathrooms are clean, and the staff is awful!

Friendly people. Easy in, easy out. Nice laundry facility, dog run. It’s about 2 miles from the interstate, so no noise from that, but close to a small airport and freight train tracks, so some noise from that - not all the time though. Pool looked great, but it was too cold the day we were there.

We stayed one week and I noted that our space was a bit of a walk from the restroom. The next week when we stayed, our assigned space was much closer to the restrooms. Very thoughtful. Thanks.

2nd time staying in the last couple of years. Typical desert/west journey site with native landscaping. Sites are level and W/E/S convenient. A guide to the site was provided. Located on the east side of town in an industrial area but secure and quiet. Train sounds in the distance. Stores and restaurants require a short drive to access.

::I was pretty upset that we were told to leave because we were there too early. It was just one hour too early. But it was unusual in that we needed to get ahead of bad weather. It did not make us feel welcome. We were told to go shopping. Not easy with a motorhome and tow vehicle. We did leave but ended up parking in an area where we didn’t feel safe

Each guest is texted the morning of arrival with clear and concise reasons why we no longer do early checkins. Sorry guests cant understand that.

We arrived after dark and after the office closed. Our packet was ready for us and a map outlining where our site was located. It was pitch dark and being gravel roads, very difficult to see where we were going and impossible to see lot numbers. After two times around the park and driving our motor home into a ditch, I got out with a flashlight to walk ahead of the motor home. Need better sign

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our entire park is very well lit at night. We also provide a map with arrows showing EXACTLY how to get to the site. All sites are marked with reflective markers on the power pedestal AND a post according to KOA inspection policies. We also have an emergency number to call.

We only stayed one night, but the campground is very well maintained, the bathrooms were VERY clean, and well maintained. Has a nice playground, and there is plenty of room in the campsites. The roads are dirt, and I could see it being dusty on a windy day, but in this part of Texas, dust is just part of the deal, so I'm not faulting the KOA for that. We stay in a lot of KOA's and for a Journey, this one is definitely worth returning to.
