Holiday shopping gets a small town Iowa twist during the Winter Solstice Market in Winterset December 11–12, 2026.
The market brings curated arts, crafts and food vendors to the historic courthouse square, creating an opportunity to shop for unique gifts while supporting local makers and small businesses.
For guests staying at Des Moines West KOA Holiday, the Winter Solstice Market is a great reason to explore Winterset during the holiday season. Pair the market with a meal in town, a scenic drive through Madison County or another local attraction for a full winter day trip.
If you are looking for holiday shopping with more local character and less of the traditional mall experience, this is an event worth considering.
Check current event information before traveling for the latest 2026 market schedule and participating vendors.
That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account.
Make checkout easy by booking all your reservations at once. Add your sites from different campgrounds into your shopping cart* and then choose checkout.
