Campground Reviews

I stayed 4 nights at KOA Hinton where I was very happy about their clean facilities and kind staffs. There is everything for everyone regardless you camp in RV, cabin or tent: community fire camp and community kitchen, laundry, free shower, game room, play ground for kids and even for pet. Hinton downtown is just 10min away so I could go for the groceries, gas and coffee with no problem.

We LOVED it! The staff were super friendly and we loved the K9 dog park.

I noticed that the security gate is not closed at 11 pm so I have a concern about security. Once the office is closed it seems the late arrivals do not know which road to take to the campsites so I wonder if the maps are clearly marked for directions. A few sites have had their hook up posts sink due to sink holes, they should be repaired so that they are upright and straight.

We found the kitchen area nice; campground clean, only disappointment was no fire pits.

It is an interesting time - with COVID-19 - to camp. Having said that, the staff were efficient and as helpful as we needed. The sites could use a little TLC for landscaping and weren't overly spacious. I also didn't like how high up my sewer connection was. It made it difficult to empty my tanks. OK value for the price, but would not recommend it over Whistlers - once they open again.

I’ve already recommend this place not sure about those bad reviews on this place, staff were very nice over the phone the only reason I gave 4 is that when we asked at 1 of their lady staff over the phone if it’s allowed to cook inside the cabin although we’ve noticed on their website says it is not allowed She guaranteed that we can cook inside we just need to bring our own pots and pans et

Site not level. Area collapse holes. Large gatherings at fire sites. No respect for social distancing with COVID

The tent sites do not have fire pits, and there was no trees to set up a tarp.

We rented a patio cabin. There were 4 of us. It was great. Inlike that you supply BBQ's and the cook house is great. Will definitely be staying again.

The cabin was wonderful. The staff was wonderful. The campsite was clean and organized. Your fire pit did make it hard to Cook pie irons/bush pies. Other than that we had no problems.

Awful. My family had to self isolate over Covid concerns. My daughter got sick the day before our camping trip. When I called I was simply trying to let the Koa staff know that they could release my spot I knew that it was past the point of refund. He kept cutting me off to tell me I couldn’t get my money back to the point I couldn’t even finish my sentence. I just wanted to let them know.

We could not go into Canada because the border was closed so we were unable to stay at this KOA. I left multiple messages to cancel our reservation but did not receive even one reply.

Excellent stay. Super clean and safe. Very close to all facilities. We really enjoyed staying in the 2 bedroom cabin with our two little ones. We will make this a yearly trip.

We loved these cabins. We’ve stayed here before and will continue to return

We stayed four week days. It was nice and quiet.

It was nice and quiet. Sites were clean and accessible

Friendly helpful staff. Nice clean campsites. Panoramic view of the mountains in the distance. We'll be back

The only suggestion is to clean their available barbecues daily. The one I had looked like it had not been cleaned for a month. If not daily then at least weekly.

Covid19 closures had most amenities off limits so not much comment there. Staff freindly and helpful. Site fine, clean and quiet. Some picnik tables in need of repair or replacement. Hope life returns to near normal sometime soon.

Always a great stay, thanks!

It was ok and close to Jasper but overpriced for what you get. No trees, weeds growing up in gravel pads and in the patio bricks of the ‘deluxe’ sites. Looked like no work had been done to beautify the grounds other than mowing-just weeds in flower boxes. Not what we would expect from a KOA. We called and emailed with questions before our stay and never got any answer.

In these times of the new norm, they were well setup.to deal.

The bathrooms could have been cleaner - one night there was no hand soap in one of the bathrooms. Fortunately we had brought some hand soap with us! There was also a small building behind our cabin that had lights on all night - it would be great if these could be turned off at night. The kitchen area was great and very useful.

Sites were small with only a few feet to the next unit. No privacy at all. Campground seemed to have good amenities. A little too far from jasper though.

We got the same great service as always! Thank you KOA
Jul 13, 2020
We had a very pleasant stay. Our only complaint is that the showers were dirty.
Jul 13, 2020
This KOA has the potential to be a really nice place but the maintenance is inadequate. The road is filled with potholes and the sites aren't much better. The flower garden in front of the building is filled with weeds. The owners should own a skid steer and have a pile of gravel and dirt to repair and maintain the sites, grassed areas and roads.

We recognize the large volumes of rain you have experienced, but the wet, muddy conditions of our lot 66 are such that it needs to be closed until the potholes and mud are fixed. The finishing touches that have made it a good stopping spot in the past were not there. We have stayed there many times before and were never disappointed even in wet years. You need to up your game!!!

Trailer ghetto for staff blocking views and it’s the first thing you see upon entry. Septic pipes too high (I’m aware you don’t want them to flood - I assure you, 2 inches exposed above grade is sufficient. 8 inches makes servicing the septic a chore)

My wife, 2.5 year old and myself tented for a week and during that stay it rained and poured for probably 4 days. And every morning there was a gentleman that would come by and check up on us and all the other renters to make sure we where doing ok through the storm. Hard to beat that. They where always out and about checking garbage, cleaning or mowing. Excellent place to take your family.

The sites are all open as others have mentioned, so there is not much privacy. The gates close at 11 pm, which is a bit frustrating considering the town of Jasper is 45 minutes away and therefore if you're dining or hanging out in Jasper you have to rush back to make sure you make the gate it time otherwise your locked out. It would also be difficult for those wanting to take a day trip to Banff and have to return back to the campground in time. I understand making the campground safe by locking the gate, but perhaps closing the gate should occur a bit later maybe midnight? Only other complaint would be is we had to cancel the final night of our stay which was 3 days away, but we were not given any refund. We were aware of the 48 hour cancellation policy, but the policy means before arrival ONLY… despite if the date you're cancelling is more than 48 hours away… so that was a bit disappointing.

Loved our stay, however it was not the best. Had lots of trouble with the vending machines and washer and dryers taking our money and not working properly. Staff usually weren't around for us to bring up the concern because it always happened after hours. Other than that I would say the experience was great! It was quiet, and the spot that we had set up our camper in also had a concrete slab with its own picnic table which was really nice. For the most part we were out exploring so it was more less a place for us to set up. I would say it is slight over priced for what you get out of it.
