Campground Reviews

Campsite clean, friendly staff, with playground for small kids, big common area for bigger family gatherings with fire pit and sink. No mosquitoes!

The campgrounds biggest perk is the dog park, honestly was a really pleasant surprise. The downsides to the campground however are, no personal fire pits, the lots are incredibly narrow, not one tree between you and your neighbor, the campground could put up something around the sewage storage tanks as it's unsightly. Long story short the campground is alright but nothing special.

When we arrived, we picked up our reservation which had a site number not even listed on the map, had nowhere to park and no picnic table or fire pit. Next morning the site worker came around and asked us to move our car. When we explained that our site number was not on the map, he still did not clearly explain directions and just kept telling us to park at a different site away from our tent.

Would be just as good sleeping on the side of the road. Not even close to worth paying to stay there. Will never be back to this one

Well kept cabins, grounds, quiet, a great place to camp and enjoy Jasper and Hinton. The internet needs to improve, couldn’t lock on long enough to do research . We really enjoy our stay there and wouldn’t mind returning another time.

Because the Canadian Border has been closed, due to the coronavirus, we did not get to make our trip. Now, let's see if my credit card bill has a charge on it...

Upon checking in was told he was too busy to take us to site.No one was in ft or behind us .We were in site 64 and put our truck on the next site to unload groceries. The owner banged on our door as my wife answered he rudely told us to move as that was not our spot and the new people were there. She tried to explain but all he would say was “not your spot, not your spot” He needs cust serv 101

It was a great experience - clean, friendly, easy check in. I wish KOA would allow dogs into deluxe cabis.

Top notch customer service! Super clean cabins. With three little ones, I would not like to have seen so much poison ivy on the porch. Overall, a great place to stay.

Amazing cabin n staff member are very friendly

On the basic end of most KOA we’ve been too. No activities( could blame COVID). Communal fire pit only, which is a great idea but very stingy on the firewood and hour a fire is allowed, which makes it difficult if you are relying on one for cooking.

It was gorgeous!!!

It was good experience ... TV was not having Canadian channels , Shelter kitchen has reduced capacity induction coil which were taking huge amount of time so people were jammed... washroom and bathroom facilities requires expansion in numbers... Overall comfortable stay... campground cabins need clean up...

When entering the KOA the access bridge had several large pot holes in the road right before the bridge that needed some much needed attention. The pull thru site was very easy to access with our truck and 40 foot fifth wheel. Staff were friendly and courteous. I was surprises that no one led me to my site, as they had done during our previous stays at this location. The grounds were clean.

I had a very nice stay with young children. They are eagerly looking forward to return next year. The owner was very friendly and gave my children a gift when I left. I would recommend KOA Hinton to friends.

As always we enjoyed our stay. As we travel with our dog we enjoy the dog run area, however it may be time to do some work on it. As well, there are several areas where it looks like they've worked on the power water connections that need some work backfilling and landscaping. I'm sure it's a constant process. I wish there were more KOA's in Alberta we could use.

Very helpful At check-in. Wi-Fi could be better but other services provided were fine. Campground it was very clean and the check-in staff was friendly. We would stay here again.

We just stayed overnight and did not unhook our camper from the truck. Our site was muddy but that was because of the large amount of rain the area has seen lately. Staff were friendly at check in and even though we did not have a reservation they found a site for us

We booked full hookup and power with water but the water faucet was broken couldn't use the water. I tried calling the on call manager 3 times but no answer each time. What is the sense of having an on site manager that doesn't answer shenanigans people need them. Not very happy. We have booked again hopefully this visit will be better.

We stayed in a cabin, it was very clean and nice. The mattress was ok. The staff were excellent

disappointing

It was Very windy with no shelter from trees. There were no fire pits at the sites to keep warm or enjoy cooking over the open flame. The group area fire pit had no wood and was also not useful. The limited bathroom access and showers were nice and clean. Staff was friendly and accommodated out refund. There were no walking trails for people or there pets. We will not return

Large pot holes at entrance bridge, please fix. Staff pleasant and helpful, Campsite is large open field, it this is your thing then its not a bad place to spend a night.

The sites are all open as others have mentioned, so there is not much privacy. The gates close at 11 pm, which is a bit frustrating considering the town of Jasper is 45 minutes away and therefore if you're dining or hanging out in Jasper you have to rush back to make sure you make the gate it time otherwise your locked out. It would also be difficult for those wanting to take a day trip to Banff and have to return back to the campground in time. I understand making the campground safe by locking the gate, but perhaps closing the gate should occur a bit later maybe midnight? Only other complaint would be is we had to cancel the final night of our stay which was 3 days away, but we were not given any refund. We were aware of the 48 hour cancellation policy, but the policy means before arrival ONLY… despite if the date you're cancelling is more than 48 hours away… so that was a bit disappointing.

Loved our stay, however it was not the best. Had lots of trouble with the vending machines and washer and dryers taking our money and not working properly. Staff usually weren't around for us to bring up the concern because it always happened after hours. Other than that I would say the experience was great! It was quiet, and the spot that we had set up our camper in also had a concrete slab with its own picnic table which was really nice. For the most part we were out exploring so it was more less a place for us to set up. I would say it is slight over priced for what you get out of it.
